Tera Presents Pearl By Charity Dauenhauer

 Hallo,
For todays project I used the beautiful mermaid by Charity Dauenhauer called 'Pearl' . I colored her with prismacolor pencils and added some gold pearl drops with a viva décor pen (as this is one to add to my Tarot/reading card series I kept the pearls rather flat ) and then added a touch of glitter to the pearl.
I layered her to a heavy gold shimmery cardstock and edged both layers with a gold metallic pen and lastly added some gold stickers. I also coated it with a couple layers of acrylic sealer to make it more durable.
The card measures 4 by 6 inches and with the sealer it just feels and looks really cool!!!
All for today - Take Care

Denise Presents How To Tame a Beast By Charity Dauenhauer

Today I'm making a Mixed Media collage using 3 images
'How To Tame A Beast by Charity Dauenhauer'
'Dragon Luck by Lisa Victoria'
'Come Play With Me by Gabriella Szabo'
Buy some wooden letters from your hobby store and Glue glue glue!
Use modgepodge matt and some metal glue
This is how it looks glued

Then add Gesso when the other dries overnight. Gesso is a primer for painting.

I colored with glimmermist and colorshine, I did not spray it, I used a brush and it's good when it pools, dry it a little with your embossing heat gun. (It will take several coats)

Remember ALL THIS IS JUNK so save your junk! LOL! The electrical switch plates are for my digis so I know to keep it flat and your done, JUST KIDDING!

I added my digis after I made the collage so I wouldn't get anything on them
I made sure I laminated my digis because it makes them more durable

I was asked to refrain from adding butterflies and flowers (I put them on everything! LOL! So dragonflies and leaves, HERE I COME!

These are really FUN to make but it has alot of steps!

Precious Moments - Jane's View

Sweet Pea Stamps

Today is my day to showcase and image from Sweet Pea Stamps and I have chosen to work with the beautiful image Precious Moments  by Charity Dauenhauer which is available from the Sweet Pea Store in digi format.

I have had this image for a while and totally forgot about it - wonder how many of us do that :) :) Anyway, I spent a weekend colouring up several images for upcoming creations and this one one of them, isn't it just so precious.  The image was coloured with Promarkers and the sun/moon was edged with a silver pen which I smudged around to try and create some flare.
I came totally unstuck with the background, just did not know which way to go.  In the end the chalks won and I used several shades of blues.  For the final layer I put an embossing folder underneath and pressing quite hard with the dark blue chalk, rubbed over to pick up the texture. Chuffed with this, it worked a treat.
Great, the background sorted now onto the card.  Oh dear - dead brain.  I knew what I did not want to do but seemed to have no idea what I did want to do.  Several cups of coffee later I came up with a plan. This card has certainly not been an easy one by a long shot :)
I ended up going for a twisted easel card with a very lacy look just using dies. I just adore the Tattered Lace die I got on a magazine a year or so ago and for this creation I cut it three times.  Two of the cuts were left whole and the third I cut into a couple of sections and attached them to the whole die on the front.  The image was cut with a Spellbinder Oval and mounted on the Tattered Lace Antique Oval die.  To finish off the die cutting I then added a tiny butterfly to link in with the image using Cherry Lyn Designs Mimi Butterflies and used mauve card for the underside of the wings.  The sentiment was a simple silver congratulations which I had to cut down to Congrats to fit into the area created by the inner cut of the Tattered Lace Antique Oval die which is a buckle to which I threaded wide organza ribbon through.  Finishing off I added a large white double organza bow with a safety pin charm and a blue button and then a spray of pearls.

On the inside of the card I used some blue patterned vellum and then added the third of the Tattered Lace rose cuts I made.  Some pretty ribbon with baby items was attached on the lower edge and a writing area using Sizzix - 657938 which I mounted with foam tape.  There we are all done :) :) :)

Ingredients:-
  • Image - Precious Moments  by Charity Dauenhauer

  • Dies - Tattered Lace die I got on a magazine a year or so ago, Spellbinder Oval, Tattered Lace Antique Oval die, Cherry Lyn Designs Mimi Butterflies and Sizzix - 657938

Thank you for stopping by today and hope you have a happy crafting time ahead of you :) xx

Guest Designer: Sylvia

Lynette asked me to be part of the GDT...
And yes.. I would love to..
It is good to be home a little...

I have made a MDF hanger, using ©Charity Dauenhauer's Pearl- DIGI
And I decided to do something totally out of my comfort zone.
I made a Mixed Media Piece with the
gorgeous digi stamp from Charity Dauenhauer.
I colored her up with promarkers and Faber Castell Polychromos Pencils.

I played with some gesso, molding paste and some sprays.
I just added some flowers, seashells and more seastuff.

It was fun to play and to be a GDT.

Thank you and maybe I'll see you around!

Big hugs, Sylvia xxx

SPS - Woodland Fairy by Charity Dauenhauer

Sweet Pea Stamps

Today is my day to showcase an image from Sweet Pea Stamps and I have opted to use the digi Woodland Fairy by Charity Dauenhauer.
.
I fancied making my own background for this card, partially because I could not find just the right paper in my stash and also because I have loads of rubber stamps which I don't use much, I am totally useless at rubber stamping lol.  To begin with I designed the coloured background in Photoshop and used a leaf brush for the borders.
Next I stamped a bunch of trees using the Scenescape trees set and then I embossed them with black embossing powder.
To break the background up a bit but not hide it I airbrushed a piece of acetate with a brown Promarker.
Next I coloured the digi with Promarkers and also use in some Derwent Artist pencils for the background.
I have to admit, I was not happy with the background done with the pencils so reverted to my usual method of masking the digi and then airbrushing with Promarkers.
To finish off the digi I add Stickles to the flowers and butterflies (forgot to show the colour I used, sorry) and also to the leaves.  In the bottom right I assed Flower Soft to give a lovely textured and very 3D feel.
To complet the card I added turquoise lace and flower embellishment made up of plant matter.  Three button to the bottom of the branches and a wee bow with a turquoise gem I found in my button box, think it was a bit of an earring in a past life.  The final touch was some more Flower Soft.

Ingredients
  • Digi - Woodland Fairy by Charity Dauenhauer.
  • Promarkers
  • DP by me
  • Stickles, lace, embossing powder, buttons, plant matter, gems, Flower Soft etc from my stash.
Thank you for stopping by and taking a look :) Hugs Jane
