Featured Artist Week: Brigid Ashwood by Holley

Here's an adorable stamp from Sweet Pea artist Brigid Ashwood. She has a whole line of fun Rubber Stamps at the Sweet Pea store, this girl is called Jinx.  I thought this cute little outfit, with her skull and crossbones tattoo would go well on this gorgeous paper that has an adorable skull pattern on it.  I added some great combo of orange, red and yellow embellishments and one of the newest die cuts from Spellbinders.
here's a close up of the image itself, be sure and check out all the other Sweet Pea design team works this week, as this artist will be featured all week long.

Featured Artist Week: Brigid Ashwood by Ali

This week here at Sweet Pea Stamps the Design Team are featuring the artwork of Brigid Ashwood. We are each working with her gorgeous stamp designs and I chose to create with this great stamp called Margox:
I love Brigid's Phunky Phairies range of stamps and I have a few of them. They are great to colour in and the characters have a funky attitude to them that I love. I coloured Margox with my Prismacolour pencils.
I also added some interest to the image by using a Versmarker pen and Silver Pearl embossing powder to heat emboss the background section of the image. This powder gives a lovely sheen when the light hits it:
The design for my card was inspired by the circular background section of the image... I had the idea to layer the image over a circular aperture in my card. I decorated the inside of the card with pale pink paper that would show through the aperture... here's how it looks with the card fully opened:
I used nesting dies to cut the circular aperture in my card front and in a layer of white card which I had trimmed to fit the card front. I decorated the white card layer by flicking paint across it and then heat embossing the edges with Shabby Pink Frantage embossing powder.
To finish off, I attached my cut-out image over the aperture and added some flowers and a gemstone border around the aperture:
Brigid's stamps are available in red rubber from the Sweet Pea Stamps store and for this week only are on special offer. :)

Feeling Tired

How is everyone doing today?  I am running behind on everything this week and feeling a bit more tired than usual.  I have been going non stop for over a month now trying to get thing done in and around our house.
I do have a lot to share with you just some of these cards were made forever ago.
This first one I was trying to get her done last week for our Blog Hop but I ran out of time. I finally finished her this week.

I used Caron Vinson's "Scorpio" (Sheet #1 Plate #77) and cut her out and added some foam square for some dimension.
I used some Basic Grey DP., I love the colors in this papers.  I added some sparkle to her wings with a Sakura Clear Gel Pen.

For this one I kept it simple to showcase the beautiful image. This image is by our artist Katerina Koukiotis called "Secret Garden"  and she can be found on Sheet #3, Plate #159.

For this one I used one the ching chou kuiks black and white art images and she can be found on sheet 14, plate #43.

I used one of  Brigid Ashwood's Phunky Phairies sheet 2 (plate 75) called "Darja".

I wanted to make her with Mardi Gras colors.  I guess I am not afraid now to use primary colors any more.

Thanks for stopping by and there is still a sale for $2 each on a lot of stamps over at the Sweet Pea Store.

Go HERE to pick some up for yourself , oh and maybe a friend. You know Christmas will be here soon.

Margox

Once I started coloring the Phunky Phairies drawn by Brigid Ashwood, I just couldn't stop!  Here is Margox from Plate #75.
I have colored her with a combination of Copics, Bic and Prisma Markers as well as using a couple of the Spica glitter pens.  The best thing though, it the hair.  Those wonderful ringlets just make me think Nellie Olsen from Little House on the Prairie.  Unfortunately, I think I also just admitted how old I am.

Which of these Phunky Phairies is your favorite?

Get Inky!
