Little Calendar's a perfect gift that gives year round!

New Year gifts that just perfect for giving out are tiny calendars with magnets on the back. I used wonderful images from Sweet Pea stamps to decorate them.  They measure three and half inches wide.  They come with the adhesive magnet already on the back, so I able to create my little three and half inches of art work and then stick them right onto the calendars as soon as they arrived in my house! The list of all the stamps used here appears at the bottom.

 

Hope this gives you some fun little gift giving ideas, be it a quick New Year's hand out or for next year's Christmas time.

I couldn't resist putting Molly inside the window.

My scanner wants to blur her slightly so just

pretend she is inside looking through a pane of glass.

I stamped and colored her on white paper and cut

to fit behind the Madison Window die by Poppy Stamps.

Other dies by the same were the window box and grass strip.

I put some tiny roses and little stamens from the Wilton aisle at Michael's

among the grass in the window box.  (They looked like tiny flowers to me!)

Background is embossed with folder by

Sizzix "Branches, Swirls & Ribbons"

I sponged a light Distress color around the window 

frame itself to define the edges and set it off

with a black paper frame to define it more.

Popped up the window box and felt it was finished.

Connie-from the Gum Drop Gang Plate #15

So where are the Gum Drop Gang you ask?

Actually I only used the verse that comes with this plate #15 by Ralph Waldo Emerson.

The abstract-looking flower image you see is where I put some pretty Marigolds

between my Cuttlebug plates C and B (no embossing folders used) on top

of a piece of white cardstock by Cryogen and ran it all through the 

Cuttlebug.

I ended up with a splash (in more ways than one which I will tell you about next!)

of color in the shape of a flower.  I only used black Memento ink for the verse, no other ink was used.

I scraped off the petals after it had all dried and overstamped the verse.

I will dry the flowers a little first next time as they were so wet it literally 

SPLASHED onto my embossing plates and had to be scrubbed off!

The Cryogen paper has a glimmer to it that really is lovely 

against the splashy flower imprint I think.

My Champion

Hi everybody, I needed a quick birthday card for a little boy who is already showing his football spirit. I immediately thought of the adorable Gum Drop Gang's Cameron from Plate #16:

I kept the design of the card simple since this card is for a little boy who wouldn't like a lot of embellishments. I stamped the You are my Champion sentiment which is also from Plate #16 onto scrap card stock and then cut the sentiment apart. The Happy Birthday sentiment is from Simply Verticals Plate #4, also cut apart and layered next to each other.

The Gum Drop Gang is adorable and really quick to color, sure to delight anyone. I know that Cameron, Hayden, Molly and Olivia always bring a smile to my face :-).

Happy Halloween times two!!

Here's a wonderful stamp from the Gum Drop Gang! It's one of my favorite Halloween stamps. I just love this little girl (Hayden). I colored her in pretty watercolor pencils and then added a light touch of water before coloring over it with darker colors.I used the Happy Halloween stamp from the same Halloween sheet of rubber stamps. In the background I took a sheet of polka dot bazzil swiss paper and rubbed it lightly with colorbox chalk ink to give some bumpy background along with several colors of purple and pink textured plain and metallic colored papers. Of course being my card, you know there has to be some buttons added on!!

Hayden from the Gum Drop Gang and I have been loving sharing all these Halloween creations with you this year, I must confess that I may not be able to wait too long before I have to share more of these creations as I just LOVE the Halloween season and there are so many awesome stamps in the store that I are just calling out to me, Halloween is not just a seasonal thing to me!!Just to prove this point, I had to get in another card today, this card is using an adorable image from Elaine Cox
This stamp is called "Little Witch Cat". For matting the image, I used a combination of AC Black paper and beautiful metallic/mica papers. The card base is bazzill bling. The text on this card comes from Plate #59. I added some dew drops to the cards to give it a little more texture and the image is raised with tall pop dots to make it stand up as high as the dew drops do. I think this witchy stamp is purrrfect for any season, but most especially for Halloween.

Sweet Pea Stamps has some absolutely FABULOUS Halloween images available. My favorite sheet, however, is STILL the one with this sweet little bat boy and bats on it. The sentiment here is also from the same sheet. Isn't that just the best font?

This is Molly from the Gum Drop Gang at Sweet Pea Stamps. She is part of a stamp sheet Plate #14 with Olivia and some wonderful sentiments. All of the Gum Drop Gang sheets are currently on sale! The "Be Mine" and "Easter" sheet would be great to get a head start on some Valentine and Easter cards. For those of you with kids in sports there is a FABULOUS sheet called "Sports" that would be fun for congratulations or cheer them up cards. Also for coaches and scrapbook pages!!!

Lovely Hayden

This is my first love at Sweet Pea Stamps. I originally bought this set. I fell in love with The Gumdrop Gang and especially Hayden. She is sooooooooooo precious! The background for this card is Kaisercraft Tea at Elsie's I made the frame around the image by cutting 1/4 inch strips of matching cardstock and gluing them down. The pearls in the corners and on the edge of the image are also by Kaisercraft.

Right now here on the Sweet Pea Stamps blog there is a super fun contest happening. The DT has baby pictures up and your task is to match the 'before' with the 'after'. It is a BLAST and I have tried to do it without peeking. Not certain I did very well and I have at least ONE I know for sure! LOL!! Give it a shot! You just might win a sheet of images!

I am so anxious for some lovely weather and SPRING! Yesterday we had a snow storm, YES a snow storm all day. I was determined to pretend it was Spring and pulled out my first Sweet Pea Stamps love - The Gumdrop Gang.


What could be more Spring like than Molly with a bouquet of flowers and white patent shoes?

It's never the wrong time to think about football is there? These images are great for kid cards along with scrap book pages - and we always have photos that need attention.

Today Tanya Rudd shares with us an adorable card using an image from the Gum Drop Gang, Plate #8.

February Project of the Month: Memory Bracelet

The project for this month is a memory bracelet. It is super easy and fun to make with just a few supplies.

Gumdrop Gang Easter Plate
Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad
Copic Markers
Neenah Solar White Card Stock
Chipboard (like a shirt liner works well)
Mod Podge
Diamond Glaze
Small Photos if desired
Printed Paper
Charm Bracelet or Asst Jump Rings to make a bracelet
Clasp
Hole Punch
1" Circle Punch
Pliers
Scissors
Piece of Wax or Freezer Paper

Stamp the images on the card stock and color.
Attach the stamped images and photos to the chip board with Mod Podge and allow to dry.
Attach a piece of decorative paper to the back of the chip board with Mod Podge and allow to dry.

Neatly trim the images out with scissors or punch.
Punch a hole at the center top of each charm.

Working on the wax/freezer paper, apply a thin layer of Diamond Glaze and allow to dry.
Flip charms over and apply a layer of Diamond Glaze to the backs and edges of the charms to seal and allow to dry.
If necessary use a large paper clip to push any Diamond Glaze out of the charm holes.
Make bracelet chain if needed.
Attach the charms to the chain randomly using jump rings.

Another Valentine's Day Card

The Gum Drop Gang- Be Mine is just so perfect to create Valentine's Day cards with that I just can't stop making them! Cameron and Hayden are just so adorable as they present each other with their heart. Remember when it was that new and simple? Just for one day- act as though it still is, it will be a fabulous day!

Jennifer used Spring Luna from the newest ching chou kuik Fantasy Art sheet:

I stamped the image twice, colored the tail and clothes of the main image with pencils and added Sakura Clear Glitter pen highlights. The hair and skin were colored with Copics. The second image was sprayed with Stamp Zia Chroma sprays - Lava, Cherry and Sun - these are wonderfully rich colors! I trimmed the mermaid out and layered her on the sprayed background. Matted the image on hot pink mulberry paper and attached to a pink mica cardstock. The flowers are Primas and the bling are from Queen & Co. The flourish was created using some of the leftover background paper and a stencil with a touch of glitter pen. The sentiment came from K&Co.

Artist Soul.....

Hi everyone! I decided for today's post to give some love to Hayden and Cameron from the Gum Drop Gang. I totally love those cuties and feel bad that I've been neglecting them - not on purpose mind you....

This is Hayden being an artist and she is part of Plate #15. The moment I saw this stamp, I knew I had to have this plate. With my oldest granddaughter, Emma being an artist, how could I not?

I had this stamp all colored but was still deciding if I should redo it. I had used another type of card stock to stamp the image onto. The copics colored ok on this card stock, except for the dark blue.... it bled a bit. I generally always use Neenah Crest Smooth 80lb card stock, Solar White or Millstone. This time however, I used Mohawk Expression 80lb. It feels thinner than the Neenah and it feels just as smooth as the Neenah, but it reacts a little different to the copic inks. That's not bad, just means I have to adjust how I color/blend with my copics. :-).
I also decided to create a half circle card just for something different. Ok I admit, actually I made a booboo and this was a way to salvage the card. Mistakes are good, right? I did take the sentiment and cut it in half to balance the card by adding the first part of the sentiment to the top and the other part to the bottom. Quick, simple card. Today I have a two cards to share featuring Sweet Pea Pal sheet number 9 and sentiments from plates number 7 and 8. The great thing about Sweet Pea stamps is that so many of the images and sentiments from different sets work together allowing your creations limitless possibilities.

Supplies:
Sweet Pea Pal sheet 9
Sweet Pea sheet 7
Black Archival Ink (CTMH)
White, Peach and Pink (2 Hues) Card Stock (Stampin' Up)
Printed Card Stock (DCWV)
Copic Markers (.Too)
Adhesive (Scotch)
Corner Rounder (EK Success)
7/8" Circle Punch (Marvy)
Paper Trimmer

Directions:

1. Punch out about 4 - 7/8" circles from the pink and printed card stocks.
2. Cut a piece of peach card stock that is 5 - 1/2" x 8 - 1/2" and fold in half.
3. Attach the circles on the right side of the front of the card.
4. Stamp the girl image on a 2" x 3 - 1/4" piece of white card stock and color in with markers.
5. Round the image corners and mat on a piece printed card stock that is 2.25" x 3.5".
6. Attach the matted image to the left side of the card front.
7. Stamp the sentiment on a piece of white card stock that is 1 - 1/4" x 2".
8. Mat the sentiment on a piece of pink card stock that is 1- 3/8" x 2 - 1/8.
9. Attach the matted sentiment to the printed card stock that is 1 - 1/2" x 1 - 1/4".
10. Attach the matted sentiment on the right side of the card front, centering.
11. Enjoy sharing!

Printed Paper (Stampin' Up)

Purple Ink Pad (Tsukineko)

Purple Gel Pen (Unknown)
Adhesive (Scotch)
Cutter Bee Piercing Bugs (EK Success)
Paper Trimmer

Directions:

1. Stamp the girl image on white card stock (cut to 2.5" x 3.25") and color in with markers.
2. Lightly run the purple ink pad along the edge of the white paper to distress.
3. Stamp the sentiment on white card stock cut to .75" x 3.25".
4. Mat the stamped images on light purple card stock cut to 1" x 3.5".
5. Using the piercing bee, lightly run it along the edges of the matted girl image about 1/8" from the edge of the white card stock.
6. Using the purple gel pen connect everything dot the piercer made, creating a stitch pattern.
7. Lightly touch the edges of the matted girl image with the purple ink pad to distress.
8. Cut the dark purple card stock to 5.5" x 8.5" and fold in half.
9. Cut the printed paper to 2" x 5.5" and attach to the left side of the card front.
10. Attach the matted girl image to the upper portion of the card front and the sentiment in the lower area, centering both.
11. Enjoy sharing!

These two cards were made with the Gum Drop Gang 'Be Mine' plate. The papers are unknown, ink was VersaFine Onyx and the images were colored in with Copic Markers. The brad on the card below came from Queen & Co.
