Ching Chou Kuik's Come Softly

Once upon a time... not really that long ago... I found Sweet Pea Stamps...and the obsession began!
This gorgeous image is among the first stamps that I bought and I ask you...how could you NOT be smitten?
I made this card a while ago... but the image is still a favorite...(ok they all are!) but I did really enjoy creating it and I really wanted to share this with you all...and now to ask you a question...
What was your favorite or first Sweet Pea Stamp that REALLY got you hooked?
It is easy enough to do after seeing all of the gorgeous stamps and the ones that are always being added!

So... thanks for popping in and I look forward to hearing which images started your addiction...

Summery butterfly wishes

Finally a card from me and let me tell you: I had so much fun making it. A dear internet friend of mine is having her b-day soon and I decided to make a special card for her. She mentioned in her latest e-mail she was into pink/green and shabby chic at the moment. I found these papers that are both and since the colour combo is one of my favourites I was excited to start. Choosing an image was tricky, but as soon as I saw this stamp called Untouchable by Linda Biggs (plate 81) I knew it would be perfect. I wanted to make it super girly and summery and wanted to add more embellishments and details than usual. I think I managed to learn something new as the card is a bit outside my comfort zone with all the details. If nothing else I managed to learn to measure the whole paper properly, or at least try on a piece of scrap, before I go all out with the punch, lol.

The little butterfly on the stamp is the exact shape and size as one of the butterflies on the border punch. I cut it  out, embellished and raised up the wings a bit.

Are you ready for Christmas

Well today I have 3 cards to share with you and they are all about Christmas.  I don't know about you but this year has flown by as it feels like the kids just got out of school and now they are going back on Aug 1.  I  spent this past weekend clothes and school supply shopping and the money adds up when you are buying for 3 kids.
For my first card I used "Follow Me" by Katerina Koukiotis, sheet #3, Plate #159. I colored the image with copics and used some Basic Grey "Jovial" DP,Spellbinders Pendant Die cut in half, Adhesive Pearls and Black jewel flourish.

For my second card I used another Katerina Koukiotis image and this one is called "Home for the Holidays" and she is from the same sheet.

Here is some more views of the image colored with copics.

For my 3rd card I used "Franceska" by Anna Marine sheet #1, Plate #160.   I have used this image before, but I wanted to use her again in different colors.

The DP is from Basic Grey.  I used a Martha Stewart border punch and snowflake punches.  The image was colored with copics and I added some glitter glue to the snowflakes and around the border of the image. And to top off the snowflakes I added some pink jewels to the centers of the snowflakes.

I hope you are getting a start on your Christmas cards this year.  If you are like me you never have enough time to get them all done.
We are having a Blog Hop on Friday July 29th, so make sure yo join us as we will be featuring Sweet Pea Stamps artist "Rebecca Sinz".
Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by.

Hugs:)
Angela

Purple Mermaid

Plate #84 with images by Elaine Cox has two absolutely stunning images. This lovely mermaid is one of them.

One of the things I love most of all about coloring mermaids and fairies is doing their hair in fun colors.  Since purple is one of my favorite colors, it was the choice of the day.  The pearls in her hair are made with Viva Decor Pearl Pen in white.

Get Inky!
Alex

It's a Tea Party

This wonderful image can be found in the Lisa Victoria collection, on Plate 167. It's titled Monster Tea Party and is absolutely adorable!

There are several other images included along with sentiments that really make it a versatile set of stamps.

I hope you have enjoyed your stop today, ttfn!

Holly Fairy

Hi Everyone,

I think the heat is generating wishful dreams of Christmas, snow and cool temperatures which meant I finished coloring ching-chou kuik's Holly Fairy, part of Plate #60. The sentiment is from Plate #36.

This fairy had been in my 'unfinished' drawer for a while but I thought I'd give it a shot to see if I could get something going. The card itself isn't anything fancy BUT I think I saved this gorgeous fairy. And I wanted a silver background - something shimmery. So I used my silver metalic Sharpie pen.

I also used Viva Decor Gel Gloss on the berries and added some shimmer and glimmer to her wings with an orange Atyou Spica pen. Since I used copics to color the image, I made sure to do the background with the sharpie last.

Thanks for stopping and don't forget to check out the store for the latest new releases!

Connie-Flower Friends

Plate below is #166 by Joanne Schempp:

and below is what I did with it:

I picked up Sweet Pea's plate #166 by Joanne Schempp and could not decide which beauty I wanted to play with so I used 3 of them on my card today.
You can find this lovely plate of images by clicking

HERE

Supplies:
SP plate 166 by Joanne Schempp
"Barbie"  (top flower face)
"Aurella"  (middle flower face)
"Diamond"  (bottom flower face)
Copic markers & airbrush system
1 1/4" circle punch-McGill
Spellbinders "Standard Circles" die
flower punch-Stampin' Up!
Vine die-Cheery Lynn Designs "Fanciful Flourish"

I airbrushed Copic markers for the cloud background using a torn paper as I couldn't find my cloud template.
After I had colored, cut out and assembled the elements to my liking I hand wrote the words.

I hope you enjoy viewing this project as much as I did making it.  I began it with a mini Geo Die in mind for the floral
portion and when that didn't look like I wanted it sort of evolved into this.  Isn't that how most art is produced......

Thanks for stopping by!

Inspired by

Today I have a card I made using one of  Anna Marine's images called "Captivated by Silence", sheet #1, Plate #160.  I don't know about you but I love this image and all of Anna Marine's artwork is just so beautiful and lifelike.  If you like her you have to go and check out the rest of her artwork that Lynette of Sweet Pea Stamps has turned into rubber HERE.
I used some Basic Grey DP, DCVW DP, Sizzlets corner and Flourish dies, Distressing ink in Black Soot, and the ribbon was made using some purple and black Gingham wired ribbon.

The image was colored with copics.
Skin:E11,E01,E00,E000 and E0000
Hair: E51,E53,E57,E47,E49
Top and Roses: RV91,RV93,RV95,RV99,RV00,V99
Background: RV91,RV93,V00,V01,V91 and V95

I hope you like her.  I took my pics outside so it kind of washes out her skin.  There is a lot more shading on her skin in real life.

For this Card I wanted to make a Halloween card, as I wanted to color this sweet image by Terra Bidlespacher.
The name of this image is "Moonlight Hijinks" , and you can get her as a single or on

I used some Martha Stewart Halloween papers, American crafts ribbon, K&Company die cut 3D bats and the sentiment is from Sweet Pea Stamps and I cut it up and attached it to the little banner.

Here are some close ups of the image.  I really love how this image turned out.  I used all warm grey copic marker, W00,W1,W3,W5,W7,and W9

Here is a little tag I made using another one of Terra Bidlespacher adorable images.  I just love her artwork, a little dark but also oh so cute.  I used "Tad Batty", from sheet #5, Plate #155 or she can be purchased as a single.

Thanks for stopping by today and thank you for all your sweet comments.

Elaine Cox's Mariana

OHHH... I LOVED making a card with this image from Elaine Cox! I got to use all of my fun glitter pens and some really pretty dufex paper and shimmer mist! Lots of fun things to show off this beautiful stamp!
I used copics to color her and then I added all of the glitter and shimmer... and here is my creation!

Thank you for popping in and have a glittery, shimmery day!

Amanita Muscaria

I have had this Rachel Anderson image in my collection for a little while, and I am so delighted that I have finally gotten around to colouring her.
The image is called Amanita Muscaria.

I had initially intended to make this more of a bold card with strong colours.
It is funny how you can end up with a card completely different to what you had originally imagined.  Sometimes these are the cards we love the most as well.

This gorgeous image can be purchased on her own, or along with three other equally stunning images on Rachel Anderson's sheet #2, plate # 111.

Thank you so much for joining me today.

Butterfly Fairy Framed Art

Hi everyone,

I colored Karen Middleton's Butterfly Fairy from Plate #138 last weekend and decided to use some of my many self made background papers. I also decided to use a wooden frame and add a little Distress Stain, Glimmer Mist and butterflies.

This project actually came together quite nicely. Since I always have so much fun experimenting when I use mists, inks or certain techniques, I always have lots of 'scraps' which I keep. And this time around, it was a good thing :-).

I also got out my butterfly stencil and spritzed some Perfect Pearl Mist:

She is colored with Copics. Used Distress Ink to add some definition to the edges unfortunately I also got some stray ink smudges from my inky fingers onto the colored image.

But I'm just going to pretend it's part of the glitter :-). Make sure to head over to the Sweet Pea Stamps store and check out the sales....!

July Guest Designer: Bettina

Bettina, our Guest Designer, shares a beautiful card with us today. The image is titled Blue Fairy and can be found on plate #77 of the Caron Vinson collection.
