Connie-Bubble Fairy

I've been itching to get this gorgeous Sweet Pea stamp inked and finally had time today to play.
I stamped the Bubble Fairy by Lisa Victoria with Tuxedo Black ink by Memento
and colored with Copic markers.
Then I did some "fussy cutting" and trimmed it out.
I then cut some light blue paper with a Spellbinder die
"large scalloped octagon" and ran that thru
a Cuttlebug embossing folder "bubbles"
I punched one side of some peach paper with a
Martha Stewart border punch "shells"and
finally layered it all together.
I popped the image up and added some blue gems
to replace the bubbles I cut off.
Also added small gold gems along the punched edge and
some Stickles on the wings.
Oh yes!  I tied some sheer ribbon around the cup handle also.
I hope you like this as much as I do.

Whimsical Holiday Mermaid

Stamp: Ching Chou Kuik's "It's My Birthday", Plate 20

One of my favorite Ching-Chou Kuik images is from the very first CCK release. It is called "It's My Birthday", and there are so many possibilities with this image. Here, I turned her into a holiday card. I thought the hanging stars looked a lot like holiday ornaments!

The background color is a vintage, patina-like color I achieved by layering my Copics in G21 and B00.

Summer Colors

Now that the real FIRE of summer is here in Texas, I just had to use the heat of summer to make a card. As August hits, we will be over 100 degrees just about 100% of the time. Even when it cools off, it will be in the 90s. Pretty crazy when you wait to go outside until 8 or 9pm and find out it's still in the upper 90s!! That's the trade off you get around here for the lack of snow all winter. Well the FIRE has inspired me for this stunning stamp of Elaine Cox. It's called Magical Springtime. If you have seen the original colors used, you can see the difference based on the color set that i have selected and used on this card.

The card uses wonderful cardstock from Paper Temptress; fun flowers from Prima; Brads from Basic Grey; the Friendship stamp from Plate #55; Bling and Pearls from Martha Stewart and Queen&Co. The image was colored using Copic Markers.

Hope your summer is hot, hot, hot! Be sure to take a dip in the swimming pool!

Angel Domino Ornament

I have been trying to create little gems to hang on the tree rather than having all commercial ornaments. This is one of the things I have come up with. It uses the small angel image from Plate 17.

To work with a domino I suggest sanding it down, removing the shininess. I then added a touch of gold by smearing a Brillance Gold ink pad on the surface and allowing it dry. Next I stamped the angel image with black StazOn. Once it was dry, I colored some of the areas in with a gold colored pencil. Then I  placed a small square piece of paper over the stamped angel image to protect it. I then stamped the Corinthians passage on the exposed areas.

After all the stamping had dried, I sealed the front with Judikins Diamond Glaze and allowed to dry for a couple days. I run a piece of piece of Terrifically Tacky Tape around the edges and dipped it into some dark green ultra thick EP, heated that up and added a bead to the top with Amazing Goop.

Too early to think about Christmas?? Never, I am already halfway finished with my shopping! ttfn.

Silk Dance

I love the way Silk Dance has her tail behind her as a background and it is a fairly open image for the ©ching-chou kuik's FantasyArt Collection. After deciding which background paper I wanted to use I then determined what colors to use for Silk Dance. Probably 85% of the time I decide my image colors after I select my background papers. I often don't decide color placement until I am in the process, but I pull out everything that matches or coordinates from which to select. I am LOVING the hair and think that a coral color is unique appropriate for a mermaid. I wanted this to be a birthday card and went through my fabulous set of sentiments from Sweet Pea Stamps. I finally decided on the one here from Plate #2. While doing so I decided that Plate #2 was one I needed to pull out and play with again. It is just so pretty!

Moonlight Siren

Hi everyone and Happy Wednesday! :) I hope you are all having a wonderful day and a wonderful week. Things are crazy busy here as usual, but I can't complain :) For my card today, I just had to ink up another new image from Sweet Pea Stamps. This one is illustrated by the fabulous ching chou kuik and is called Moonlight Siren (I made mine a "daylight" siren) :) I colored the image with copics and then added lots of Star Dust Stickles to the butterflies, her shawl, and the waves of the water. Next I created my card base out of SU cardstock. The design paper is by Kaisercraft (Gypsy Sisters collection). The sentiment is also from Sweet Pea Stamps. For some finishing touches I added a bow, dew drops, and roses from Wild Orchid Crafts. What do you think?
Well, that's it from me today. Thank you all so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Elaine Cox Little Jasmine Mermaid

Hi Everybody,

I was in one of those 'moods' where I gravitate towards a certain color and go with it. As you can see, I once again used the blues and greens as the main colors for Elaine Cox "Little Jasmine Mermaid" which is part of Plate #48.

Little Jasmine Mermaid in Blue

I stamped the image with Momento Tuxedo Black ink onto Neenah Classic Crest Super Smooth Millstone 80lb card stock. Millstone is a very light sand color. It actually gives your colors a different 'flavor' if you will, more of a muted tone. I colored Jasmine with copics, taking my time. I think I played with the colors for several evenings before finally finishing her up. I also used my Twinkelette glitter pens for some glitter. Some Distress Ink around the edges of the image to help blend it in a bit.

I used some scrap DSP for the matting. The ribbon is from Offray which is threaded through a cut-down Nesties Border die (Fleur De Lis). The beaded white flowers are from Modern Romance found in the wedding aisle of your local craft store. I had some scrap paper flourish & strand 'o beads laying around so I decided to add it to the card. I will tell you that I almost ruined the card while trying to glue the flourish down. I used a glue pen and didn't realize I got some glue on my fingers. And you know how dried glue on fingers picks up any dirt, right? Well, before I realized it, I got some on her cheek. I used a sanding stick - stole it from my hubby :-) - and lightly sanded her cheek. I can still see where the 'spot' was :-(. I do hope it will encourage a newbie crafter to not worry about making mistakes.

The sentiments are from Plate #4 - Simply Vertical - which I just cut apart. These I stamped with Momento Rich Cocoa ink onto scrap cs. (Trying to hide a couple more glue messes. I truly am one messy crafter, lol)

Now, how about YOU play with some ink and your favorite Sweet Pea Stamp and don't forget to share your creations. :-)

What? You don't have any Sweet Pea Stamps? Well, head over to the shop, because there are some awesome stamps on sale...... so, whatcha waiting for? ! lol..... Have fun guys!

Sunflowers........

Good day all.  This enticing stamp is from ©ching-chou kuik's Fantasy Art Collection, sheet 14, plate #43. I didn't start out with an Autumn color scheme but I did want to use my rust colored Sunflower instead of a yellow one so that is how it turned out!!! I do love Autumn anyway!!!! Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy......

I colored my bewitching beauty with copics and then cut her out with a craft knife. That was a crazy idea in itself!!!! The circles behind her were distressed and then chalked to age them. I added stickles on her hair and necklace as well as the flowers on the image and the centers of the flowers around her. I also added them to the tops of each of the dew drops. The flowers were just random flowers that I had collected over the years. I also placed a fringed piece of ribbon across the middle and swirls in the corners. I hope you enjoy as much as I enjoy making it!

NEW! ching chou kuik's sheet #22

ching chou kuiks sheet #22 is now on sale through July 28th
Will not begin shipping until Aug. 2nd

Sparkly Light of Beautitude

Hello! I have made a card today using one of the more recent ching chou kuik images from Sweet Pea Stamps. I have just discovered glimmer mist sprays and have really been having fun with them so I made the background using the sprays and a butterfly screen. The whole card is very sparkly - I used Diamond stickles on her wings and body which has a gold/yellow cast to it's sparkle and then I used Stardust stickles on the candlelight. I was hoping that this would make the candlelight give off a subtly different sparkle.

The Details:
Stamp: Light of Beautitude - Ching Chou Kuik's Fantasy Art Collection (Sheet 19, Plate 54) Sweet Pea Stamps
Paper: White (Georgia Pacific), Dark Chocolate, White for image (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Walnut Stain and Fired Brick Distress Ink
Copics:

Sweet Little Girls

I just love the newest designer's, Samantha Rawlings, images. They are so sweet with their wide eyed look.

This one is called Little Fairy, she is stamped in black and colored with watercolors and pencil. To eliminate the starkness of the white paper it is stamped on I added yellow and blue green chalks. The skirt, wings, shoes and accessories are highlighted/colored with glitter pens.

This one is called Little Cake Girl isn't she sweet??? No pun intended ;-) She was colored with copics, the background papers are DCWV.

You can find these and many more of the newest line on the Sweet Pea site  Have a great weekend!

The Silentness

As a mom- the name of this stamp "The Silentness" just sounds fabulous to me. I can imagine a million different things.

However, The Silentness is an image drawn by ©ching-chou kuik's for Sweet Pea Stamps Fantasty Art Collection. This beautiful sentiment is also on the same plate #57 with the image.

I created this card in the same manner as most others. I selected the image, them the paper then began to color. Once that was finished, I just began to put it together and see where I ended up. I did refer to a sketch to start this time. I have this card sitting on my mantel, and am enjoying looking at it. I will put it in my next box of cards to Operation Write Home, but until then, I am just enjoying the peacefulness it gives off.

Lisa Victoria's Storytime

Enchanted Storytime

Hello Sweet Pea Stampers,

I had so much fun coloring Lisa Victoria's dragons, that I decided to feature "Storytime" from Plate #36 today. After coloring the stamped image, I used Labels Three die from Spellbinders to die cut the image. I used a sponge with Distress Ink to blend in the edges a bit. The papers are from My Minds Eye's Wild Asparagus line. I added the rows of velvet ribbon to, errr, hide a boo-boo :-). You can barely see it, I had dry embossed a single line around the edge of the card. I added a button on top of a square felt button and I also added Prima Flowers. I took Vintage Photo Distress Ink pad and just rubbed it on top of the flowers which I thought turned out pretty good. Makes it look like the edgfe of the flower petals are two toned. :-)

All in all, I am pretty happy with how this card turned out. What do you think? Thanks so much for stopping by and make sure to check out the Sweet Pea Stamps store. More new releases and definitely check out the Sale page.... and then grab your Sweet Pea Stamps and get inky!

Elegant mystical wishes

Here is another card from me using my newest loot - stamps from Elaine Cox. This time I used pirate treasure mermaid from Sheet 5, Plate 46 and a text from the same sheet. I used the same sketch as for the bottom card. You can make so different cards using one sketch as I'm sure you know if you've ever played along in any sketch challenges.

I wanted to keep the image tone-in-tone with the papers and chose blues and aquas to match. The only thing that stands out is the text that I embossed with a blue ink pad and some glittery embossing powder. An elegant card that I think would suit the man in your life.

Luxurious Touche.......

Hello everyone!  I hope you enjoy this lovely as much as I have creating her!

I used ©ching-chou kuik's Light of Beautitude from sheet 19, plate 54.

I colored her with copics and then added gold highlights with my gel pen and liquid pearl in opal.
Glossy accents highlight the circles around the flames and stickles were added to her wings and bodice.
She was then framed in a Spellbinders classic frame that had been embossed with gold.
An organza ribbon was then twisted loosley to complete the framing.
Swirls and a small butterfly finished the look.

Candy Colored Butterfly Mermaid

Stamp: Ching Chou Kuik's "Light of Beautitude", Plate 54

An Alice in Wonderland inspired card featuring a candy pink background I created by blending several layers of Copics in RV14, RV04 & RV02 leaving the edges of the image very light. I then used Rock Candy Stickles to edge the image and sprinkled it with additional chunky clear Martha Stewart glitter. The embossed background was created with a Tim Holtz Alterations embossing folder. I inked the embossed cardstock with Brilliance Pearlescent Purple and Platinum Planet.

Playing with Stars

For my card today, I just had to ink up this adorable new image from Elaine Cox for Sweet Pea Stamps. This particular image is called Playing with Stars and I think it' :)
I colored my image with copics and then added Stardust Stickles to the stars and to the cat's wings. Next I created my card base out of SU cardstock (Basic Black and Perfect Plum). The design paper is from Recollections (from Michael's). I used my SU ticket corner punch in all the corners and added light lavender pearls. For some finishing touches, I added a ribbon, bow, and cat charm. What do you think?
Thank you all so much for stopping by and I hope you have a fabulous day!

Hugs, Christine

Sweet Wishes to you!

Here's another wonderful stamp from Elaine Cox called Celestial Garden Fairy from Plate #34. I used a square Bazzill card with metallic paper to highlight the image.

The embellishments are done in wonderful summery colors, bright oranges, dark yellows, deep blue, clear crystals, pretty pinks and a ribbon border to bring everything together. I added a cute saying of "Sweet Wishes" to the side.

Connie-Flowing In Blue (Green)

I just love the sense of peace and tranquility this image projects.
You will find this Sweet Pea image (along with many others just as beautiful!)
by going to the following link and clicking on plate #47:
Sweet Pea Stamps
Actually I chose this one to work with today because it
was perfect to go with this designer paper and that pretty little butterfly ribbon I found.
I stamped the image by ching-chou kuik with Tuxedo Black dye ink by Memories.
I sponged Blending Blox dye inks by Marvy for color, touching up with Copic markers.
I cut several Spellbinders "Labels One" dies and offset them.
I also cut a strip of white and another of a matching dp and
layered those on the right side and put a length of that butterfly ribbon
by Wrights on top of that.
I added some Prima flowers to cover up some misplaced sponging...LOL
I had fun making this card and that is what stamping
is about.
Thanks for looking!
Connie
