Asian beauty

With so many new releases from Sweet Pea going on right now, it got me looking through my older stamps. This one is called black haired lady from plate 22 and it's one of the first plates from ching chou kuik. I'm not sure I have used it before so it was definitely time for it to see some ink. I love the Asian feel of this stamp and since I got some Asian inspired papers for my birthday I knew they would fit perfectly.

I often feel that I'm not having enough embellishments and decide when I start that this time I'll fill the card to the brim. But then I use these beautiful images and papers and I don't want to take focus off them. So in the end this is what I get :) Very clean and simple.

I'm quite happy with the little embellishment I did add. I used a Chinese coin with a brad and a flower. I also used white mesh that I inked with a promarker and cut out two leaves. I think this way the embellishment compliments the image instead of stealing focus from it.

Hope you're having a fantastic day and find time to ink up some of your Sweet Pea stamps, whether they are old or new.

Love is...a Valentine

Here's one of ching-chou kuik's Fanasy Art stamps from plate # 22. I paired it with the "Love is" quote from Plate #17. It makes a beautiful Valentine.

I started with a large sized corrugated card from Paper Pallete. I took two ribbons, a black ribbon and a thinner red ribbon. Because the card is corrugated, it would be hard to attach the ribbon directly to it. I cut a thin strip of paper just a little smaller than the black ribbon. I used ribbon glue to adhere the ribbon to the paper strip and then glued the red ribbon on top of the black ribbon. I then used regular adhesive to attach the paper strip to the card.

Project Materials: Stamps (Sweet Pea Stamps Plate #22 and #17); Ink (Memento, ColorBox Chalk); Heart Brad (Bazzill); Round Tag (Stampin' Up); Cardstock (DCWV); Color (Copic Markers);

Cheers all!
Holley

Fantasy Art Collection 3

These images are from the ching chou kuik Fantasy Art Collection sheet 3 - Plate #22. The images were stamped with black VersaColor ink, colored in with pencils and Copic Markers. The bases are mica card stock and the background papers are various pieces from my stash. Add a touch of bling with a Sakura Stardust pen, Queen and Co. rhinestones, ribbons, and Prima flowers finish them off.

Have a Mystical Birthday!

This beauty comes from ching-chou kuik's Fantasy Art Collection 3 (plate 22). I used the image to make a sweet birthday card, by adding one of the sayings which comes from Plate #22.

For this card I started with the ribbon, which had two shades of blue, yellow, a tiny amount of red and brown. Starting with those colors, I stamped the image with Memento black ink. I then used Copic markers to color the image. I double layered the image on dark blue and brown papers onto a light blue card. Then I added the saying. I really think this card would be good for a man or a woman.

Have a stamptastic day!
