Peony and the birdcaged!

Hi Everyone,
For my card today, I colored up  "Peony" and it's one of my favorite by the amazing artist ching-chou kuik who's whole collection you can find HERE.!
This image, "Peony", can you find here,on  plate 97.:)
Sometimes it's hard for me to start coloring, but Sweet Pea Stamps stamps weave their own enchantment over me by the time I'm finished coloring the image:).
I coloring this beauty with my Copics:).
The flowers are a mix of Prima, and this beautiful DP is from Pion Design!

This bird cage and bird are from a Tim Holtz dies, and I've added some brown Sisal grass inside the cage, to make it look like a nest!:) On the bird I've used tissue paper.
All the edges are distressed with Distress ink-Vintage Photo, and sewed with my sewing machine!:)

Here is a close up of the image, beautiful "Peony", and you can find here HERE

Lasting Charm and Light the Stars

Today I have some cards to share with you.  I don't know about you but I have the hardest time decided with stamp I want to ink up and color first.  So as soon as I receive a package of Sweet Pea Stamps in the mail, I cut them all out add some Tack It Over and Over glue to the backs, let it dry and then I stamp 2 of each image out and they are ready to color when I want them.  But I still have a hard time deciding which one to color first so most of the time I start coloring the skin on all of them, since I don't have to pick colors out first and match papers and embellishments to them.  Does anyone else do this or do you just do one image at a time?
For this first card I used one of ching-chou kuiks images called "Lasting Charm" , sheet 29 plate 97.  I wanted to color her up in some warm Fall colors and added a lot of different textures.  As green and brown are my favorite colors.

For this one I used Karen Middleton's "Light the Stars" sheet #5, Plate #116.  I think this little fairy is so sweet.  I used some Basic Grey DP.

The roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
I am having so much fun with all my Sweet Pea Stamps.  Oh make sure you go and see what's on sale over at the store HERE and stock up on all  your favorites.
Thanks for stopping by today and thank you for all your sweet comments.

Happy Birdday

I think I dare to say that spring has finally arrived to my part of the world. With the sun out and the birds singing I got inspired to make a card with one of my newest (and soon to be favourite) stamp. I just LOVE the bird theme. The image I have here is called Peony and it's one of the newer ones by ching chou kuik. It's from plate 97.

The papers I have are from die cuts with a view Mariposa line. I got them from my sweetheart after his trip to the US :) Unfortunately the pics don't do the papers justice. They are very glittery and the birdcage background is in gold foil. As the papers were so beautiful I wanted to keep the layout simple and make them work with the image. After choosing the papers I coloured the image with promarkers to match. The text is handwritten. Oh, and I added some gold glitter glue to her flower to make it match the papers and stand out a bit. Hope you can feel the spring coming too.
