Have you had fun seeing all the different variations of this image by Concetta Kilmer called Under Her Wings? What a fabulous image for a Mother's Day card. I really wanted some spring happy colors, but was worried about getting carried away and ending up with a rainbow of birds. I think I managed to have a pleasant mix of colors without going overboard.
The background paper is from the Authentique Renew Paper pack. I fought with myself a bit before using it. The paper and pattern were perfect for this image, but the backside is so pretty too. It isn't that I don't still have two more sheets left to use whichever side I want, it was the idea of gluing down and hiding such a pretty print on the back. I really think there should be a rule that double sided paper must have an ugly side.
The paper flowers with the orange gem centers were the finishing touch and helped to tie everything all together. Make certain to take a close look and see just how adorable the faces on the baby birds are.
Get Inky!

ReplyDeleteLove your colouring on those beauties, Alex. Beautiful colours you used.
ReplyDeleteI like the double sided papers as they mostly go together perfectly, and so am using both sides for one project. I am a hoarder too, but started to use also my favourite papers. This is why I have them at least... for using :)
Hugs, Karina
