Be the world to one person

Woohoo, I'm back! I'm so happy to be showing you today's card. Distressing is not really my strength, but I would really like to get better so here is one of my tries. I think a lot of "me" shines through. It's not like the styles I'm trying to copy that I see out there, but that's ok. I'm quite satisfied with my way of approaching distressing too.

I used spring spread from sheet 13 plate 42. The text is also a sweetpea stamp from sheet 7 plate 29.

There are a LOT of layers on this thing - 10 in total if you count the text panel and the brown background card. All papers are inked with distressed ink, tattered rose and/or vintage photo and then distressed with a mat knife or vice versa. (hey, I use what I have, but I WILL get a proper distresser tool some day) The pink panel is dry embossed with one of the cuttlebug embossing folders. Image coloured as always with my beloved promarkers and this time I used darker colours to make the image glow like some of the DT members do. I'm quite happy with the flowers and her skirt. I also coloured her background which I normally don't do to make her stand out. The flower has a piece of mesh that I also inked with vintage photo. In the middle I have a brad which originally had a cavity - the pink pearl fitted perfectly in there so I glued it on to make it more custom made.

A very busy card for me, but I like it a lot, how about you?
