Clean and Simple Christmas

Yes, you heard me, Christmas. :)
I should point out that I am not normally a remotely organised person and in fact I usually end up running around making my Christmas cards at the last minute. But... as soon as I saw the new Holly digi image from Rebecca Sinz, I couldn't help but think what a fabulous Christmas card it would make. So I went ahead and made one: :D

It's such a striking image (I love the way Rebecca draws faces, and her moody, gothic style) so I decided to keep the card itself quite clean and simple.  I coloured the image with my Promarkers...

... and trimmed it to a rectangular shape and then cut two more rectangles of the same size from white card and embossed them with a snowflake embossing folder. I attached the three panels to a sideways DL card blank using foam tape and then cut a title from red cardstock using my Cameo.
And that was my clean and simple - but striking - Christmas card. And at least come December this year, I'll have *one* card made in advance! :D

Forget me Not....

Hello Ladies. For today i made a card with this beautiful Fairy by Ching-Chou Kuik "Forget me Not".  For my card i used Digital image, but as always you can have this image in yummy red Rubber. Hop in HERE and check this out. Shop has soooo many new digis , something for everyone.
For the background i used MS deep edge punch. Image i colored with Prisma Pencils, and used ink for grating colorful backing. I can't believe i didn't use any glitter on my image. The only glitter i have, it's on Designer Paper behind the image. Also i used some stickers this time.
Well, not sure if i like this card, i let you to do the judging. My Mojo run away from me last week.
Hugs to you all. Nataliya

Elisabeth Bell's Little Wishes

Today I have a Valentine's themed card to share featuring Elisabeth Bell's Little Wishes

When I began coloring the image I had different papers to use it with but wasn't quite happy at how the colors matched up. Then while looking through a stash box I found this grab bag of papers I had gotten from Nikki Sivvil and they all matched up so well! What better treat to give your sweetheart than a yummy cupcake?

Hope you have enjoyed your stop, have a great day!

Connie-Snowy Mailbox

This card reflects our climate here in South Dakota today.
We woke up to 12 below zero with not much of
a rise in temps predicted.  It is a good thing
we only have one inch of snow on the ground!

I stamped the beautiful image by
Teresa Sherman
"Snowy Mailbox" which you will find at
onto some white glossy paper and sponged
some Memento dye inks as well as a little Copic markers for color.
I cut a window frame by Cheery Lynn
"Window B"
and popped it over my scene to make it
appear one is looking out a window.
I tied a tag with computer generated words
with some bakers twine by
Doodlebug.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to
stay warm!!

Twin card - Part #2

Hello Sweet Pea friends!

Do you remember the card I made for last week, using the supercute Li'l Polly stamp by Elisabeth Bell? Well, today I am back with the "twin-card" - made with the gorgeous Elisabeth Bell stamp named Posing. I found these two stamps so cute, and I got thinking about a girl growing up from a cute little birthday girl, and becoming a 15 years old girl who's getting confirmated (Not really sure what the English word for that is...)
I am sure you will think you've seen this card before - and you kind of have! I made this card based on the same layout, stash and papers as last week's card. It was so much fun making these "twin-cards" - or maybe I should say "girl-growing-up-card"?! Ha ha!
Anyway... Here are some pics:

Last weeks card - you can read more about it here

Today I would like to share with you a card made with one of the newest Concetta Kilmer images, So In Love Hooty.

So sorry for the bad picture, I tore apart my computer desk and lost the cord that charges my camera and the cords that connect my scanner, so I had to resort to the camera on my phone. I have gotten some good images in the past but this one just doesn't want to work with me.

I did take a little leave with the image, cutting apart the two owls and moving them closer together - I really wanted to express a closeness between them.

SWEETPEA DT INSPIRATION

Today I am sharing a card front made using Karen Middleton's Rag Dolls collection called  LITTLE DAISY. (This stamp is also available as a plate of four stamps, Sheet 2, Plate 114.  I have to admit that the card I had planned to make was one using the gorgeous new Mermaid stamps from Elisabeth Bell but I just couldn't find any papers I liked to make the card having coloured the image first.  May be that will be next week's post!

Back to this project I coloured the image with Watercolouring pencils and used stickles glitter glue to highlight the wings and daisy.  I have just made the card front as I am thinking of making into a Trinket box and hadn't got any heavy duty cardboard to make the box.  So will show the finished box and a future posting.

The papers were from Bo Bunny probably an old collection as I found them buried in the back of a cupboard.

Check out my blog here for more details.

Best wishes,

Looking out the window

I took a fun stamp designed by Elisabeth Bell of a little girl sitting outside with flowers.  This stamp is called Lady Bug.  You can see on the top of the card I added some shimmery mica cardstock with designer lace across the top.  I did that to make this card look like a "window," where the lace and die cut across the top of the card are the heading curtain. (lol, for those of you who like me aren't decorators, I am talking about that top part of the curtain that is used to decorate and hide the "curtain bar upon which the curtain slides back and forth or the window mount with the blinds.  Sorry if my terminology is not correct.)   Now, the sweet child is of course sitting outside and the person reading the card sees the child as if they are  "inside" the home looking out the window.
I also added a wonderful sentiment to the card, "There are two lasting bequests we can give our children: one is roots, the other is wings."  Be sure and check out all the wonderful designs that Sweet Pea stamps has by artist Elisabeth Bell!  They are all just as cute at this little girl.

Have a great week and think about creating a card from some unique point of view.

Cheers, Holley

Rachel Anderson's Angelic

My card this week features Rachel Anderson's beautiful Angelic digi stamp. There's something hauntingly beautiful about this image of a solitary angel crouching in the waves.
I coloured the figure with my Promarkers, using soft pastel colours and lots of white space for a soft, almost bleached-out look, and used Flexmarkers for a really pale, subtle background:
For the card I used a white 8x8 card blank and some pretty Craftwork Cards papers that toned really well with my colour scheme on the digi image. I added a punched border, some lace and pearls, some vellum banners (also from Craftwork Cards) and some pretty Melissa Frances resin corners.
A fairly simple card that lets the beautiful image take centre stage. :)

I used some stamps by
(image is by Elisabeth Bell
"Li'l Miss Polly") and the verse
is from SP's Plate #3.
The embossing folder is by Cuttlebug
"Wedding Suite"
for this CAS card.

The hardest part of the entire card
was fitting those pesky squares together!!
