Conie Fong's Abbie

Well hey everyone. Shanna here today. I have a sweet little card to share. Isn't she just a doll? I love her and how well she went with the papers. Her name is Abbie and she was created by Conie Fong.

I tried to go shabby chic with the card but I believe I got carried away with trying to make the shadow parts of the tutu darker. I really had fun trying to color the balloons to be a little see through.

Items Used:
Prima papers and flower
Pearls
Ribbon
Lace
Copics
Copic Paper
Cheesecloth
Oval Spellbinder die

Abbie's ready for a Birthday party

Today I'm sharing a girlie birthday card with you, made with the super cute image named Abbie, by Conie Fong. You can find her on Conie Fong's sheet #3, plate #204
I love coloring up that little cute girl. She looks so innocent and adorable, standing with the balloons in her hand.
The image itself is so decorative and beautiful that I hardly need any kind of embellies added to it. I've been using some letters from Authentique, some flowers, some dp's that are punched on two of the sides, some halfpearls and a small bit of cheesecloth. I've also added some stickles and a some liquid pearls to the image.

The finished card

Gorgeous Abbie

Hope you like my card! Wishing you a happy day!

Connie-Technique with Conie Fong's "Abbie"

Today I will show you how to make a pretty flower using your pen, scissor and some honeycomb paper.  Are you ready??

Honeycomb Flower Technique

Supplies:
Sweet Pea Stamps "Abbie"
Honeycomb paper
pencil or pen
sharp craft scissors
circle punch
glue stick

Directions:

1)  Draw or stamp desired shape (heart or simple petal shape works well) on some honeycomb paper making sure to place shape along seam line of paper.

2)  Cut shape out and pull to flatten it out.

3)  Punch circle and apply glue on one side to cover completely.

4)  Place edge of honeycomb paper along outer edge of circle, going around and keep going towards inside of circle.
Ideally you will go around circle twice adhering flower edge only.

5)  Finish center as desired and adhere to art.

My sample uses stamp by  Sweet Pea Stamps  ("Abbie"  by Conie Fong), Nestie by SB, papers from Sam's Club, embossing folder by Crafts-Too,
honeycomb paper by Inky Antics, candi by Craftworks.  I used a one inch circle but you may do any size you like.

Below is a closeup of my rather lopsided flower:

I admit to being a little sloppy at making this sample so I hope you have a good imagination!

DT INSPIRATION

Don't you just love this little girl!  Such a sweetie!

This is another of Conie Fong's gorgeous stamps which are available as a single stamp (abbie) or as a plate of 4 images.  Check the 4 images (sheet 3, Plate 204) out here - I know I couldn't choose just one of them!

Stamp Used:  ABBIE By Conie Fong

For those of you that read my last post I mentioned I'd just started to use the perfect edges and perfect square for matting and layering.  Well having tried various knife's and cutting tools I found what works best for me is a knife with a long blade.  My Husband gave me some disposable knives which he has used at work and they work the best out of everything I've tried.

More information can be found on my blog here.

Don't forget check back regularly and check out more inspiration from the fabulous DT.

Best wishes,  Sharon
