Angel of Christmas Stars - Jane's view

Sweet Pea Stamps

Today is my day to showcase an image from Sweet Pea Stamps and I decided to work with the image Angel of Christmas Stars by Conie Fong.

To begin with I printed the image and coloured her with Spectrum Noir Blendable Crayons.  I am only learning with these crayons but do love the way they blend together although I have problems with small areas lol and seem to be forever sharpening them. Once the image was coloured I then painted the background and over the wings with shimmer paint, you can see the shimmer when you hold the card up to the light which is really cool.
Next I cut my background which I designed using gold vinyl.  I have found this is the easiest way to get lacy back gounds instead of cutting card.  I then applied this to my green covered card stock.
To transfer the die cutting from the mat to the, in this case green paper, I used cheap book backing vinyl which is easy to remove.
For the inside of the card, some more green paper, I then added gold corner stickers, the sentiment and using Spellbinders Ornate Squares I created a writing area using white card for the base.
After creating several mounts for the font in golds and greens I then created an embellishment which I think really matched the image with the clear and gold bead held in a bead mount.  To finish it off a bit of embellishing reclaimed from the wrapping of a chocolate box :) :) :)
And here we have the finished card.

Weekly inspiration from Sylvia, Conie Fong's "Angel of Christmas Stars" and Ching-Chou Kuik's "Holly Fairy".

    Hi everyone!
    Sylvia here...

Today I want to share a lovely image from
Conie Fong "Angel of Christmas Stars".

    Christmas is here...
It's like a little magic, don't you think?

This gorgeous stamp is availble at:
    and also as a digi:

I stamped this image with my favorite stampingink
    Archival Potting Soil.
I love the darkbrown, it is more softer than the black ink.

Ofcourse I colored this beautiful Angel with my distresspads.
I added some glossy accents on the looking glass
(don't know the english word for it... oh hey.. you know what I mean).

The base of this card is Kraft.
The designpaper is from Bo Bunny.

I added a bow with a little button from our local store.

This cute Fairy is from the artist Ching-Chou Kuik
    and is called "Holly Fairy".
I love the way she looks at you...

She is availble as a rubber stamp at:
    and as a digi:

I colored my Holly Fairy in with the distresspads (ofcourse).
I added glossy accents on the berries.. it's a shame you
don't see them so good on this picture.

The base card is made from Kraft and green and red cardstock.
The lace and the ribbon I had in my own stash... it was waiting
    for this card to make!
The button I bought at a local store.

I wish you a Fairy Merry Christmas!

Angel of the Christmas Stars, but it's not Christmas!

Here's a stunning image from Sweet Pea stamps artist Conie Fong called Angel of Christmas Stars, but as you can see, I have colored her up in a totally non-Christmas way.  This stamp can be used in many color combinations and is perfect for all sorts of beautiful cards year round.  Instead of coloring her flowers red like poinsettias, I simply made them pink to match the beautiful dress that I colored her in.  Isn't she perfect?

Here's a close up of this gorgeous image
Conie Fong's images are available in rubber stamps or as digital stamps at the Sweet Pea store.  Be sure to check out all of her amazing designs.  Hope this beautiful angel has inspired you today.

    Have a great weekend everyone.

    Cheers, Holley
