Summer sunshine

I love summer.
It means going to the beach, more play time outside with my girls, yummy fruits and all round feeling good.
That is what I love about this Elisabeth Bell stamp Kiki with Dolly, it just oozes that summer feeling.

This stamp makes me want to pack up the car and head straight to the beach with my little ones.
How about you?

Thank you so much for joining me today.

Dream of Dahlia

Hello everyone.
I am so glad you could join me today.
I have a little gift project to share with you all today.

I have a lot of family interstate who miss out on seeing my girls grow up, and all of their little award ceremonies and recitals. So sometimes I do up a CD/DVD to capture these memories and send it to my loved ones so that they don't miss out on all the action.
This time, I thought I would make a CD Gift Card to make it that little bit more special.
That gorgeous stamp is ching-chou kuik's Dream of Dahlia.
Here is a photo of the inside of the card
And finally a photo of the CD/DVD safely housed in its little pocket.
So fill a DVD with home movies or photos and send it to your loved one's interstate.  It won't be as good as them being there, but it will bring them one step closer.
And with Christmas just around the corner what could be a quicker and easier gift.

Thank you so much for joining me today.

Look at those curls...

Look at those curls...that it what everyone used to say about my daughters hair.  And those were the words that I said when I saw this stamp.

This little girl is such a cutie pie, she would look fabulous in so many colours.
I hope you have been enjoying the Elisabeth Bell inspiration from the team, I know their  work always inspires me.

Enjoy the sunrise

Is there anything more beautiful than watching the sun rise.
It is the promise a new day, a new start, a new beginning.
This Rachel Anderson stamp Sunrise captures that feeling beautifully.

I used Echo Park For the Record papers for this card, and was lucky enough to find a sentiment that I thought fitted perfectly.

This stamp can be purchased on its own, or together with three other images on Rachel Anderson's Sheet #2, Plate #111.

Thank you so much for joining me today.

Planting Seeds

Hi everyone.
It is spring time here in Australia, so we are all out in the garden enjoying the beautiful sunshine and looking at all the gorgeous new blooms.
I was inspired to create a card that represented springtime, and what could fit more perfectly than Valarie Wade's Planting Seeds.

After colouring her with Copic Markers, I masked the image and applied Antique Linen Distress Ink  to the background.
This lovely little girl can be purchased by herself or together with another beautiful image on Valarie Wade's Sheet #1, Plate #118.

Thank you so much for joining me today.

The Lost Princess

Hello everyone.
Thank you so much for joining me.
Today I have a card to share with you using the ching chou kuik stamp The Lost Princess.

I had a few different version of colours in my head for this image so it took me a while to decide which way my card was going to go.
I was initially going to do a yellow dress with green veil, but the Copic Red Violet tones were calling me, so I finished with them instead.

This stamp can be purchased on its own or on ching chou kuik's sheet #34, plate # 129.
While you are over at the Sweet Pea Stamps shop, don't forget to visit the SALE page.  There are some simply amazing bargains to be found there.
Thanks for stopping by.

Today is a gift.

Hi everyone
I am back with a card today, using yet another gorgeous stamp from ching-chou kuik's Sheet #14, Plate #43.
I found the sentiment among all my scrap supplies, although I believe it is from the Crate Paper Snow Day collection.

I thought the sentiment fitted this stamp perfectly and it is something that we should always hold close to our heart.

Thank you so much much for joining me today.

Ching-chou kuik's Plate #43

Hi everyone.
Thank you so much for joining me today.
Recently I received a sheet of gorgeous ching-chou Kuik stamps.
I have a soft spot for ching-chou kuik stamps because they were the first stamps I ever used.

This is one of the gorgeous  images on ching-chou kuik's sheet #14, plate #43.
Isn't she lovely.  I was inspired by the blue skies we are having and the gorgeous yellow daffodils growing in  our front garden.

Blue and yellow is such a gorgeous combination.
Thank you so much for joining me today.

A Fairy In the Garden

Joanne Schempp's Daisy Fairy reminded me of when I was young and would look for fairies in our garden.
I never could find those elusive little fairies, but I always believed they were there.
Now my little girls go out into the garden and look for these magical beings. Don't you just love the innocence of youth.

So with fairies in mind, I was inspired to make this card.

I cut some leaves using my Spellbinders Foliage dies to blend in with the image and give this fairy her own little garden.
This card will be going to my daughter, so she will always have her own fairy in a garden.

If you would like to create your own little piece of magic, Joanne Schempp's Daisy Fairy can be purchased on its own or on Sheet #1, Plate #130.
Thank you for joining me today.

Enchanting Elinora

Elaine Cox has some truly stunning images.
I found this image Elinora completely captivating.

I coloured this little mermaid with Copic Markers and added some Liquid Pearl highlights.
I decided to color her hair green, like the color of seaweed.

Copics used:
Skin-E000, E00, E11, RV10
Eyes - G82, G85
Tail/Top - RV10, RV13
Hair- G82, G85, G94, G99
Background - B000, B02, Y15, YR04
Fish - YG00, YG03, Y15

This beautiful image can be purchased on its own or on Elaine Cox's Sheet #19, Plate 164 along with three other mermaid beauties.

Fairies and Angels

I hope you all had a fabulous time on the Rebecca Sinz blog hop.  We all had an absolute blast doing it. If you missed my card in your travels here it is.
This stamp can be purchased on its own or along with three other stunning images on Sheet #4,  Plate #172.

There are some images and designers that you fall in love with immediately.  That is how I felt when Renee Biertempfel joined the other amazing artists here at Sweet Pea Stamps.
Her images are different, but so beautiful.

I made this card using the stamp Sea Angel. It can be purchased alone or on Renee Biertempfel's Sheet #1, Plate #144.
The papers and embellishments used on this card are from an amazing kit club here in Australia called Lime Tart. I tend to colour an image first and then find the papers to match, and these papers worked perfectly with the image.

Thank you so much for joining me today.
I hope you have a fabulous week.

Amanita Muscaria

I have had this Rachel Anderson image in my collection for a little while, and I am so delighted that I have finally gotten around to colouring her.
The image is called Amanita Muscaria.

I had initially intended to make this more of a bold card with strong colours.
It is funny how you can end up with a card completely different to what you had originally imagined.  Sometimes these are the cards we love the most as well.

This gorgeous image can be purchased on her own, or along with three other equally stunning images on Rachel Anderson's sheet #2, plate # 111.

Thank you so much for joining me today.

Beautiful Hummingbird

Hummingbird's have always captured my attention.
They have such beauty that you can't help but love them.
I think that is why I was drawn to the beautiful ching-chou kuik image called Hummingbird.
This gorgeous image can be purchased by itself or along with three other beautiful creatures on sheet #26,  plate #79.
The image has been coloured with Copics with a Distress Ink background. I also added some highlights with my trusty white gel pen.
I really love the way this card turned out, I hope you do too.
Thank you so much for joining me today.

Little Lady Bug

I love the fairy-tale feel of this Joanne Schempp image called Lady Bug.
The beautiful fairy girl holding a light over the little lady bug is truly sweet.
The image has been coloured with Copics, but I chose softer colours to match the gentle tone of this stamp.
The black cardstock was my way of adding contrast to the card.
This really is a precious image.
It can be purchased on its own or on sheet #1, plate #130 with three other equally sweet images.

Thank you so much for joining me today

Brigid Ashwood-steampunk

I really love the steampunk images that are available from Sweet Pea Stamps. They provide such a different feel to a card, and are always so much fun to colour.
The cards I am showing today are from Brigid Ashwood's Sheet #3, Plate #104.

I wasn't sure how I was going to tackle this amazingly detailed image.  So I just started with the skin and hair and then it all just fell into place.
For this second image I really wanted to try my hand at a monochromatic colouring.  So I chose the Cool Greys and set to work.

The image had a soft feel to it, so I tried to make the card a little more feminine.
It is amazing how to images from the same sheet of stamps can yield such different results.

Thank you so much for joining me today.

Samantha Rawling's Little Sweethearts

I decided that this week I would pull out the cute little images from Samantha Rawling's Sheet #3, Plate #125.
I couldn't decide which image I wanted to colour most, so I ended up making two cards.

I love this little ladybug.  For the background I masked the image and then applied some Distress Ink over a stencil. It is hard to tell from this image, but her little bow has been paper pieced.
How free does this next little girl look. I again masked the image as well as some cloud shapes and applied Distress Ink over the background.  This card makes me smile.
The sentiments used on both cards are also found on this sheet of stamps.  How cool is that!
Thank you so much for joining me today.
Have a great week.

Karen Middleton's Blue Butterfly Fairy

I recently received Karen Middleton's Sheet #11, Plate #138  and had to play with the gorgeous images straight away.

Usually my cards tend to be on the brighter side, but because this image is just so feminine I wanted to try and make the card look a little softer. I think the brightly coloured image pops out really well from that soft background.

Copics used:
Skin - E000, E00, E11
Hair - E31, E35, E37
Clothes - YG00, YGO3, YG91
Wings - B000, B02, BO5
Butterflies - R00, RV10, RV13

Thank you for joining me today

Elaine Cox Trio

There have been  so many gorgeous creations from the Design Team using Elaine Cox's Sheet #18, Plate #133.
I have been so inspired by each and every one of them and had to create my own little trio.

First up is Alassa
Next is Darya
and my favourite of the three Mirima.
Each of these images can be purchased on their own or on Elaine Cox's Sheet #18, Plate #133 along with a fourth image Kiara.
Thank you so much for joining me today.

Pearl Drop by Renee Biertempfel

I just love all the images from Renee Biertempfel available through Sweet Pea Stamps.
This beauty is called Pearl Drop.
For this card I wanted to keep it uncluttered to keep the focus on this gorgeous image. I am normally a girl who doesn't leave much untouched space, so this was really difficult to do.  But I do love the end result.
Renee Biertempfel's Pearl Drop can be purchased on her own, or on Sheet #2, Plate #153 with three other stunning images.
