Almost Easter....

Hi Everyone,

I thought with Easter right around the corner, I would color up ching-chou kuik's Fantasy Easter Ocean from Plate #30.

I'm excited to say that I've finally tried my hand at easel cards. Not just a regular easel card but a twisted easel card with an additional twist:

Intimidated by easel cards would put it mildly. They down right scared me, however, stubbornness prevailed, lol and OMG, they are a blast and are truly easy (even for "get-it-wrong-try-again" me).
And with these beautiful Sweet Pea Stamps images, I'm always thinking that they need to be displayed. These easel cards are perfect for the recipient of the card to display right out of the envelope.

Since I always stamp out several images at a time, I have a drawer full of ready to be colored Sweet Pea Stamps images as was the case with Fantasy Easter Ocean.
She is stamped with Tuxedo Memento ink onto Gina K 120# pure Luxury card stock. This card stock is awesome to use if you do NOT want any bleed through from your copics, however, the blending is a little different. For one thing, it takes a lot more ink to soak the card stock and even then the end result is still not like it would be using Neenah Classic Crest Super Smooth. But that's ok, I love to see different results.

Now the added twist to my Twisted Easel card is that I did not use a "topper" which sort of allowed a 3-D effect when the card is twisted into the easel form. Oh, this is only my 2nd ever easel card created so as is the norm, there are some goof ups...:

Here is the card closed:

The sentiment in the left hand corner is from Plate# 1. I once again used some left over gift tissue, scrunched up as a border. Double stick tape works great when one is too lazy to pull out the sewing machine :-).

The "Happy Easter" sentiment on the inside is from Holiday Verticals, Plate #13 stamped, then cut apart.
Of course I didn't take a straight on shot of the sentiment, but you get the idea.

Fantasy Easter Ocean is a gorgeous image stamp and perfect for Easter or any time of the year and NOW is the time to get this gorgeous stamp if you don't already have her in your stash. Fantasy Easter Ocean (single stamp) is on sale .... right now. Hurry over to the Sweet Pea Stamps shop today!!!! You'll be glad you did!

Thanks for stopping by.

Easter wishes

This card is made using the wonderful fantasy Easter Ocean from plate 30- just perfect for those Easter cards. This stamp is so cute and I wanted to make it very "Eastery". I used my newest bunny die. Isn't it a perfect match?

As always I chose the papers first, then found colours to match before I coloured the image. I also added some twinkling H2Os to the bunnies to make them stand out more and match the bunny die. I inked an Easter greeting and embossed it with glitter powder.

Quite simple really, but I love how all of it blend together.
Happy Easter everyone!

Fantasy Easter Ocean

Hello! Today I want to show you a card I made using Easter Ocean from ching-chou kuik's Fantasy Art Collection (sheet 8, Plate 30). I was so excited when Lynette from Sweet Pea showed us a scan and told us she was going to be made into rubber. I love her sweet little bunnies and thought she would make the cutest Easter cards (and now that the "Alice" movie is coming out I am having ideas for some "Wonderful" other ways to use her!!) I made this one with Easter in mind though. I tried my hand at pleats with my ribbon in the background. The grass and the bunnies are Martha Stewart punches. The two bunnies are actually the same punch, I just stood one up!

The Details:
Stamp: Fantasy Easter Ocean - ching-chou kuik's Fantasy Art Collection - Sweet Pea Stamps
Paper: Basic Grey, White (Paper Trey Ink)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo black, Pretty Petunia, Aegean Blue (VersaMagic)
Copics:
Skin:R00,E00,E11,E13,R20
Background:BV00,BV01,B000
Hair:R81,R83,R85
Clothes:Y15,Y17,Y38,R24,R29,R39
Tail and Grass:YG21,YG23,YG25
Misc: Martha Stewart Grass Punch and Bunny Punch, Photo Corner Punches (SU), Ribbon (SU), Stardust Stickles

I hope you have a wonderful day!

Fantasy Easter Ocean

This card was created using the new Fantasy Easter Ocean from the ching chou kuik Fantasy Art Collection, Plate #30. It is the prettiest Easter stamp I have ever seen. The base is a hot pink mica card stock, the background is the handmade line from ProvoCraft. All of the flowers are Prima, pearls are Queen & Co. The image was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink from Tsukineko and colored with Copic markers. A touch of glitter was added with a Sakura Glitter pen.

Blog Hop Recap!

Today we are featuring all the wonderful cards our design team shared with you during the blog hop Thursday. We hope you enjoyed this event as much as we did.

Jennifer used Spring Luna from the newest ching chou kuik Fantasy Art sheet:

I stamped the image twice, colored the tail and clothes of the main image with pencils and added Sakura Clear Glitter pen highlights. The hair and skin were colored with Copics. The second image was sprayed with Stamp Zia Chroma sprays - Lava, Cherry and Sun - these are wonderfully rich colors! I trimmed the mermaid out and layered her on the sprayed background. Matted the image on hot pink mulberry paper and attached to a pink mica cardstock. The flowers are Primas and the bling are from Queen & Co. The flourish was created using some of the leftover background paper and a stencil with a touch of glitter pen. The sentiment came from K&Co.

Alex created these two cute cards with the Gumdrop Gang Easter images:
Randi created this beauty using Nostalgia from plate #30:
