Thanks for stopping by today! My project features one of the gorgeous collage images Sweet Pea Stamps offers. This image can be found on Plate #2 and is currently on sale!
To create this simple gift card I stamped the image on a printed vellum in Olive Green StazOn and then embossed with clear ep. I then matted the image on gold vellum and attached it to a gift tag sized base.
I hope you have enjoyed your visit! Have a great weekend!

Butterfly Hearts
Hi Sweet Pea Stampers, Micki here.
With all the gorgeous new stamps Sweet Pea Stamps has been releasing, sometimes I tend to forget about the beautiful older stamps in my arsenal. Plate #27 is a wonderful set of stamps that lend themselves to just about any theme or sentiment.
So for my card today, I played with my Sizzix Movers & Shakers die to create a window card which I thought would highlight the small Butterfly Heart from Plate #27 perfectly.

I'm ashamed to say that I"ve had this die for two years now and this is the first time I've used it. I did have a little trouble making sure the inside panel with the butterfly hearts lined up right, but then had a 'lightbulb' moment and used a plastic report cover (die cut) as a template.

I used the sentiment 'Amore' that comes on Plate #27 paired with a metal heart from my stash.
To add just a little pop of color, I used red embroidery floss on the metal heart.

Here's another look at the card.
Gotta love this awesome plate. So versatile oh and also perfect for technique backgrounds. Hm..... I think I'm off to play some more.

Collage Fairy Sparkles
Stamp: "Holiday Collage Sheet Plate 56"
The Holiday Collage sheet is full of gorgeous details. And, there is such a great vintage-ness to them. I love using them simply stamped in black or sepia Versafine ink on kraft. I used some of the new Fairy Flora line from Prima. And, combined it with some complementary fairy colored glimmer mist.
Sparkle Supplies: Glimmer Mist {Patina, Cosmo, Peach Delight, Lemongrass, Moonlight}, Stickles {Platinum}, Versamark Dazzle {Champagne}& the new Prima Screens and Prima butterflies and pebbles.

Getting ready for the 'Holly Days'
I make lots of Christmas cards each year.... like about 75!!! For me, making all 75 exactly the same seems a little boring, so I like to make maybe 15 of each style, changing a little bit here and there to keep my interest. For all of these cards I used the Christmas Holly stamp found on Sweet Pea plate #12, and 2 of the fabulous vertical sentiments that are on Sweet Pea plate #13. I also kept the color scheme basically the same - pink cardstock for the card, dark wine, deep mauve, or plum colored cardstock for the layering, white or light pink cardstock for the stamped image, and raisin Adirondack dye ink.
Also, for all of these cards (except the last one) I began by first stamping the vertical sentiment along the right side of the card. That way I knew how much space I had left for my focal point.
Quite some time ago, I had taken various colored sheets of cardstock and sprayed them with gold webbing spray. One those sheets happened to be dark wine, perfect for the color scheme of these 'Holly Day' cards. After stamping the sentiment I cut a piece of the dark wine cardstock to fit in the space left on the card front. I edged the piece of white card, that had been stamped with the Sweet Pea holly image, with a gold Krylon pen before attaching to the wine colored cardstock. After trimming the wine colored cardstock and punching all 4 corners with a decorative corner punch, I edged it with the gold Krylon pen and then mounted the stamped piece onto it. Then I attached it to the card front.
Here's the second card... I mounted the holly stamped piece onto a slightly larger piece of gold cardstock and trimmed the gold to create an even border. Next, I mounted that piece onto a larger piece of web-sprayed dark wine cardstock. After using a decorative corner punch on all 4 corners of the wine colored piece I edged it with a gold Krylon pen. I attached the piece to the pink card using double sided tape.
I had recently purchased a new decorative photo corner punch and wanted to put it to use. I cut a piece of the dark wine colored cardstock that was larger than the piece stamped with the holly image. I punched one corner, inserted the stamped piece, and trimmed the 4 sides to create an even border around the image. I edged all 4 sides with a gold Krylon pen before attaching to a piece of mauve handmade paper. I trimmed the handmade paper with a straight edge scissors on 3 sides, but trimmed the right side with a decorative edge scissors. The vertical sentiment was stamped along the right side of the pink card and decorative ribbon attached to the bottom of the card.
Once again I started by stamping the vertical sentiment along the right side of a pink card. After doing that I attached the strip of decorative ribbon along the bottom of the card. I cut a piece of plum colored cardstock to fit within the newly created borders, but before attaching to the card front, I trimmed the right side with decorative scissors and edged the entire piece with a gold Krylon pen. I like the festive look that the Krylon pen offers a card.I cut a piece of gold cardstock slightly larger than the piece the holly was stamped on and layered both of those onto the plum cardstock. Can you tell by now that I like these color combinations???

I didn't use the vertical word stamp for this card. I created a background using dark wine colored cardstock. I edged both the background and the smaller piece with gold Krylon pen. But before I attached the Sweet Pea holly image to the background I attached a piece of decorative ribbon vertically onto the background. The entire piece was then attached to a white card.
Enjoy your 'Holly' Days with these Sweet Pea images...

I hear Christmas music!
Do you hear Christmas music???When I saw these Christmas images from Sweet Pea plate#12 with the music in the background, I knew my Cuttlebug 'Allegro' embossing folder would be the perfect compliment. For all 4 cards I ran a piece of Core'dinations cardstock through the Cuttlebug and sanded the paper to reveal the core. For those of you who haven't heard or seen the Core'dinations paper yet, it looks like a double sided cardstock, but when you sand the 'uncolored' side then the color from the reverse side (core) of the paper shows through.
The Core'dinations pieces I used for the 2 cards above were whitewash (uncolored) on one side and a sort of light peach and beige on the reverse side. I began with black cards for both cards, punching decorative photo corners for the card on the left, and a decorative corner punch on the embossed piece for the card on the right.
For the card on the left I stamped the holly image onto light pink cardstock with VersaMark and heat embossed with black detail embossing powder. I centered the piece onto the Cuttlebug embossed piece and then slipped it into the the punched corners of the black card.
For the card on the right, I stamped the holly image onto a small piece of gold cardstock, trimmed it, and edged the piece with a black marker. I attached the gold piece to the Cuttlebug embossed piece and then onto the center of the black card. The card needed something more so I applied some gold peel-off stickers to the top and bottom edges.
The Core'dinations pieces I used for these 2 were black (uncolored) on one side and then blue, and the other pink, on the reverse side.I used a decorative photo corner punch on each of the cards and trimmed the embossed piece to fit within those corners. I stamped each image using black ink, the angel onto a small piece of light blue cardstock and the holly onto a small piece of burgundy cardstock. The smaller size of these images allowed me to use up some of my scraps I had been saving. I mounted the angel onto the same blue cardstock that was used for the card and then attached on an angle to the middle of the card. I ran a gold Krylon pen along the edges of the maroon card that the holly was stamped on before attaching to the center of that card.
Christmas will be here before we know it!!! Better get going on those Christmas cards!

When Thank you isn't enough
Sometimes just "thank you" isn't quite enough. This card says it in French, in your very own handwriting. What you can see is the brayered background but what you can't see is the sparkle from using kaleidoscope embossing powder.

1. Stamp with versamark and clear emboss using kaleidoscope embossing powder

2. Brayer over using a kaleidacolor pad.
3. Cut and mat
4. Write "Merci" and punch; layer with darker punch and attach.
