Kimono Butterfly Mermaid

Sharing a card today using Kimono Butterfly Mermaid by ching chou kuik for Sweet Pea Stamps. I used the digi stamp which can be found HERE but this also comes in rubber form which can be found HERE!

I colored the image with copics and then added some sparkle with Smooch Glitz in Frost and some stickles. I paired the image with Prima's Fairy Flora papers and then added some touches with a Fiskars border punch and some rhinestones.

Hope your day is beyond fabulous!

A Bevy of Beauties...

Ok, so the title phrase has been stuck in my head for a couple weeks now so if I use it somehow maybe it will go away....so here is my bevy of beauties:

This is a card I made for a challenge - the theme was Aloha -  the image is from the ching-chou kuik collection and is title Kimono Butterfly Mermaid. And what is more perfect than a memaid sitting on the shore in the evening light to say aloha? She was colored with pencils.

This next card was from last month's Sketch Challenge at Stamper's Quest. The image is Elaine Cox's Pirate Captain Mermaid:

And this one is for Stamper's Quest monthly theme: Reflections. It features ching-chou kuik's Cherish Christmas. I invite you to visit Stampers Quest where I have a tutorial for creating the technique!

Hope you have a great weekend! j

Hex Yewglow

When checking out the blogs of my new Sweet Pea DT sisters I came across on Alex's blog a place where you could find your fairy name. I thought I would give it a try since I adore fairies.  When I put my name in it it came up with this:

Your fairy is called Hex Yewglow
She is a weird enchantress.
She lives in places hexed and tainted by black magic.
She is only seen in the light of a full moon.
She wears black feathers and rose petals. She has russet-coloured wings like a brightly coloured butterfly.

So I decided to look through my Sweet Pea Stamps to create Hex Yewglow and this is what I came up with!
I used ©ching chou kuik's Kimono Butterfly Mermaid, sheet 19, plate 54 as my image and changed her from a mermaid to part bird I guess by adding the black feathers to her tail.  I colored her with copics and added a bit of stickles and highlighted the moon with glossy accents.  My signature background was made with chalk.  I then completed the card with a few more feathers, some sweet roses and a couple of russet winged butterflies.  To create the spirals by the flowers I wrapped black wire around a tiny paint brush.  A bow tied the project off. I think she turned out pretty much like my fairy name, what do you think?
Copics:
Moon: Y21, Y26, R81, R85
Cumber-bun:C1, C5, C7, C9
Dress: RV04, RV11, RV13, R81
Branch: YG95, YG97, YG99
Wings: C5, C7, C9, 100, R02, E95, E97, YR04

Connie-Kimono Butterfly Mermaid

This lovely image is by ching-chou kuik and is titled
"Kimono Butterfly Mermaid"
You will find it in plate #54 by clicking below:

I began this card by first picking my papers and finding it is much easier to match inks with papers than the reverse.
I knew I wanted to do an aqua colored theme so it was easy to pick and choose.
I cut along a curvy line on one paper and used a Martha Stewart punch on another.  On a third paper I cut a Spellbinder die "Classic Frame" and smooshed aqua and gold inks on it after stamping the
verse included with this plate.
Only then did I begin coloring the image.  To bring out the green of the background I had to color her hair green of course.  The Big Green Brad that I got from a swap helped also.
I think it brings out the "seaweed theme."
Having this much fun with rubber stamps really ought to be illegal!

I Have been BUSY!!!!

I have 5 cards to show you and this first one I used Kimno Butterfly Mermaid sheet #19/Plate #54 at Sweet Pea Stamps. I colored her with copics (so bright and pretty) I really love the way this one turned out. I used 2 different DP's, one has small butterflies on it and them over it I added a vellum sheet with bigger Butterflies on it. The BIG butterflies on this card was a gift from my blogging friend Rellz!! She sent me alot of beautiful embellishments.

I added some tree branches that I made from a die. The sentiment is also from a ching chou kuiks Sweet Pea Stamps set.
