Sweet Pea Stamps in 'Just Steampunk' magazine - Tera

 Hallo,
Just a short little post to show you some projects of mine that are in the newest issue of 'Just Steampunk' magazine.
All 3 projects just happen to use the same image - 'Clara' by Charmaine Flannery. I colored her 3 different ways with prismacolor pencils and then over the course of a couple weeks made them all up into projects for the DT blog. While I was at it I sent pics of all 3 to the folks at 'Just Steampunk' - this was back in may sometime I think.....
So all 3 projects have already been here on the DT blog but I thought I would show you how pretty they looked on the magazine pages :).
First picture is the front cover just in case you want to try and find a copy for yourself  - lots of good steampunk stuff in there!!!
Second picture is a necklace that I made with a big pendant and a drop charm - She got the whole page :)
Third picture at the bottom of the magazine pages is a keepsake box that I made with travel map paper, gears, a light bulb charm, some rustic flowers and some crackle distress paint and old dark brass door knobs for feet.
And the last photo shows a journal I made and she too got the entire page!!!! I had found some cool paper that had goggles on it like Clara has in her hair and then I added feather, a bird cage charm and some rustic flowers and more distress crackle paint.
All three projects were great fun and it was my first time being published in 'Just Steampunk' so it was great fun all the way around .
   All for today...Take Care

Clara Journal - Tera

 Hallo,
Another journal - this one with a steampunk flair. 'Clara' here is a great steampunk image by Charmaine Flannery - I have used her for several steampunk projects :)
I colored her with koh-I-noor pencils and then cut her out with a Spellbinders die. I coated her with sepia effects from Ranger. The next layer was also cut with a Spellbinders die. I covered the book with some paper that I found with goggles on it - LOVE that it matches so well with Clara and her goggles :)
Added some paper flowers, some feathers, 2 metal charms from Tim Holtz - wings and a bird cage.... and lastly added some bronze pearl drops with a viva décor pen.
  Have a great day!!!!

Tera's Steampunk Clara - altered cigar box

 Hallo,
I have been in a steampunk mood lately and 'Clara' is a great image for that - she is by Charmaine Flannery and is available as a rubber stamp or a digital image.
I colored her with Koh-I-Noor pencils and then coated her with a sepia clear coat and layered her to a metallic crackle paint layer.
I used the same metallic crackle paint on the edges of the box too and then added flowers, old ribbon - the green one died with green walnut distress spray, gears, a cool little light bulb and finally some pretty brass corners.
I used some old metallic colored drawer pulls for the feet on the box too :)
I found some cool papers from Tim Holtz to cover the box with too - do you see the part behind Clara with the goggles on it - goes well her with her goggles I thought :)
All for today - Take Care

Embossed Steampunk Bee

Hi everyone! I took the month of May off and am now trying to get back into the swing of things.
So today, I thought I'd share another card created with Brigid Ashwood's Steampunk Bee from Plate #105:

I stamped the bee onto beige card stock (Neenah Millstone Super Smooth 80lb), colored her with Copics and used a yellow Pitt Artist pen to outline the bee. I used a sponge and soft yello Pan Pastels pigment chalk to cover the background. To seal the chalk, I followed Katarina's example and embossed the whole image panel. I wasn't sure how it would work out, but it actually gives the impression of leather which works well with the brown embossed card stock. (The picture really doesn't show it too well)

When I think "Steampunk", I think metal. Well actually I was thinking washers, nuts and other miscellaneous metal objects that are on my husbands workbench but settled for using regular eyelets. The sentiment is from Plate #98. I like the straight, bold lines of the font which is perfect for this card since it is intended for a male friend.

Thanks for stopping by, I'm off to check out all the latest new releases at Sweet Pea Stamps!

this is the Steambutterfly from Brigid Ashwoods newest images. Both have been colored with copics and then a bit of something shimmery was painted on top...I honestly don't know what I used. Have a great weekend!

Brigid Ashwood's Steampunk Bee and Firefly

I'm back today with another image from Brigid Ashwood. This one is her Bee image from her Steampunk artwork. Believe it or not NO COPICS!!!! I colored the whole image with Twinkling H2O's. This set is on pre-order now, sheet #4 /Plate#105.

After I painted the whole image, I masked the bee and sprayed a small amount of Glimmer Mist over the background. I added alot of pics to show you all the glimmer from the Twinkling H2O's.

Here is a simple card using the same image I showed you earlier this week Brigid Ashwood's Firefly. I stamped it on some kraft paper and used Distressing inks around the image and used a white gel pen to add some highlights. I wanted to show you that even though this image has alot of detail you can still not color it and the artwork is still just as beautiful.

I added some art tape, safety pins and that was about it.

This image is on sheet #3/ Plate #104 and both can be found HERE.

Thanks for stopping in today.

Steampunk Doll/ Christmas gifts

How is everyone today? This has been one busy Thanksgiving holiday for me. I took these images with me to my Mom's for Thanksgiving and worked on this after dinner. I made 2 journal books for a friend that requested them as Christmas gifts for her family. I made her 3 recipe books last year that some of you may remember if you followed my blog last year HERE.
I used one of the new Sweet Pea Images by artist Meredith Dillman called Steampunk Doll ( Sheet #2/ Plate #87) and she comes with another gorgeous image that I used on this Steampunk card HERE earlier.

I used some digital Steampunk paper from Creative Victorian Designs. The photo gears are also from Creative Victorian Designs. They are made for Digital Scrapbooking, but I printed them out on white CS and cut them out to use as embellishments on my journal books. I also used some Tim Holtz Grungeboard that I inked up to look like old and vintage.

I also covered all the images with Ranger Crackle Paint in Clear Rock Candy to give them even more vintage look and feel.

Here is the second on I made. I added some gold metal border strips and used my Tim Holtz Tattered Flowers Alterations die by Sizzix.

Here you can see all the tiny cracks in the clear paint.

And here is my last creation using the same image. I created this card for one of my good friends for her birthday. She fell in love this image as soon as she saw it.

Not only did I cover the image in Clear Crackle paint, I also covered the DP in it too.

Here you can see the clear crackle paint even better.

I hope you like them as this is one of my favorite Sweet Pea images right now.
