Featured Artist Week: Tera's View

 Hallo,
This week we are all working with images from Elaine Cox. I chose 'Twilight Halloween'. I have this image in rubber but it is also available as a digital image.
She was one of the first images I ever bought from Sweet Pea Stamps.
I colored her with copics and used several Spellbinders dies, some gray DP, gray and red/orange ribbons, some pumpkin stickers and a spider brad and put them all together in a decorative picture frame.
All for me today - Have a great day!!!

Happy Shimmery Halloween

Stamp: Elaine Cox -"Twilight Halloween"

I just love these larger Elaine Cox Halloween witches! So much great detail. For my card today, I colored with Copics. I spent quite a bit of time coloring and then decided I didn't like it. But, I had already invested so much time in it, I decided I'd alter it somehow....so, I sprayed Coffee Shop glimmer mist all over it!! Glimmer mist makes everything better! ;o) I made the polka dots on the butterfly with the walnut stain Distress Stickles. And, I used more of that addictive Tim Holtz Tissue Tape in Hobgoblin.

Copic Markers: Cape/Hat: W7, W6, W3, E70, E71, RV00; Skin: E51, E42; Hair: W3, E40, B60, G000, BV31; Dress: E40, B41, W3; Tree: E35, E33, E74, RV06; Background: V09, RV06, B00

Halloween by Elaine Cox

I absolutely LOVE both the images Starry Halloween and Twilight Halloween by Elaine Cox.  The images are so detailed they stand by themselves and anything else I do is just additional.  The faces on these witches are just so sweet.

Starry Halloween

Twilight Halloween
I am bummed that it is almost Halloween and these will have to be put aside for a month or two.  Maybe.....

Twilight and Starry Halloween

With Halloween just around the corner I have two last cards to share. They are the beautiful images from Elaine Cox. The first is Twilight Halloween, she was colored with Copics, the stars in the sky are Icicle Stickles.

My second card uses the Starry Halloween image from Elaine Cox. She too was colored with copics, icicle stickles for stars, the dp is from Graphics45 (I actually used the back cover of the pad instead of the actual paper, lol). The flower is three white ones that were sprayed with Tattered Angels black mist and stacked.

Wishing you a safe and fun Halloween!

Twilight Halloween

For my card today, I decided to use this gorgeous image from Sweet Pea Stamps. This particular image is illustrated by the fabulous Elaine Cox and is called Twilight Halloween. This image is so gorgeous and so fun to color! I decided to go with nontraditional colors for this Halloween card. I colored the image with copics and then added a dot of Glossy Accents to the owl's eyes. Next I created my card base out of SU cardstock. My design paper is from The American Paper Co. (I got it at Michael's). The sentiment is from Studio G. For some finishing touches, I added a bow (tied with my Bow Easy), pearls, and roses from Wild Orchid Crafts. What do you think?

Well, that's it from me today. Thanks so much as always for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Hugs, Christine

4 cards to share

I colored this image "Cherish Christmas" by ching chou kuiks at Sweet Pea Stamps (sheet #21/ Plate #60) and decided I wanted to cover it with some glossy accents to make it look like glass. As I set down to create a card for her I had this idea of creating a card that looks like a church. I remembered I had a stained glass embellishment and then it all started to come together. I added pop dots to the center piece the steeple part of the church to give dimension to the church.

I drew in the side stained glass windows and colored it with copics then went over it with some Twinkling H2o's and then added some liquid glossy accents over them. I cut out black strips and pop dotted them to create the steps of the church. The bushes under the windows are some Vellum stickers that were actually trees that I cut and layered with pop dots to add dimension.
Here is a close-up of the image, stained glass and shrubs.

Here is a pic of the shine from the glossy accents.

I also added some yellow silky rope/twine around the steeple ( center part of the card) just to give it that finished look and it also hides the pop dots when looking at it from the side.

Well I hope this inspired you to get creative with your next card and do something different!!

I really love how this card turned out!! This Christmas card will go to someone special to me..My Mom!! She'll love it!!

For this card I used one of the New BIG Elaine Cox Halloween images called "Twilight Halloween" at Sweet Pea Stamps. These images are so much bigger than all the other Sweet Pea Stamps. My card is a 5.5 x 5.5 , so you can tell how big this image is. Supplies:
Stamp:"Twilight Halloween" Elaine Cox at Sweet Pea Stamps

Look at this Elaine Cox( Starry Halloween) image from Sweet Pea Stamps!!!!!!! Isn't it just gorgeous??? This image is HUGE!! I have her on a 6x6 card, so you can tell how big it is. I had the hardest time trying to get a decent pic of my card.. it is so much prettier in person. Sometimes pics just don't show the true beauty of someone artwork. I love that I was able to get so much dimension in her dress with my copics.

I used some Basic Grey eerie DP and circle chipboard. I used my new EKSuccess Big Spiderweb border punch. I love the bigger border punches they will be perfect for my Scrapbook pages

For this one I used one of Samantha Rawlings images at Sweet Pea Stamps and the name of this image is "Lil' Witch" sheet #2 Plate #62. I think she is so cute with her one eye showing!! The artist of this images is only 18 yrs old and she draws some of the cutest images.

I used some DCWV DP and a Creative Memories Jack-o-Lantern Die cut that I have had over 9 yrs..Talk about old. I added a pumpkin paper clip.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful day!!

Today I have made cards with two new Elaine Cox images called Twilight Halloween and Starry Halloween! They are so beautiful to me and I could not wait until they arrived in my mail box! Just so you know, they are a little bigger than most of the Sweet Pea images. For reference, my cards are 6.25 x 4.5 inches.

The first one is Twilight Halloween and I have colored it in black and white (with Copic Markers) and then added some sparkle with a Clear Stardust Sakura gel pen.

A Twilight Halloween

Hi Everybody Micki here.

Before I talk about my card I just wanted to say that last week's Customer Gallery submissions were absolutely outta this world. I always enjoy the variety of cards and more than once I have thought "Now why didn't I think of that". Wonderful array of cards everyone!

For my card today, I pulled out some forgotten metalic paper and colored up Elaine Coxs' Twilight Halloween. Only too appropriate, as I was watching Twilight while coloring up this beauty.

I can't tell you how much fun it is to experiment with this image. I've used some of the darker Copic colors such as BV08 and B79 in the background. For the hair I used R14 and R08 and then came back with N6 to add shadows.

I used my Viva Decor Pearl Pen for the stars, flocked brads and metalic craft trim for embellishments.

For my sentiment I used the Halloween sentiment from Holiday Vertical - Plate 13. This set is a must have! Seriously, I love that the sentiments are vertical because I always seem to think about a sentiment last. Which means I assemble my card and then realize I ran out of room :-). And I love to cut the sentiment apart like I did in this card.

What do you think? I hope you like it and if you get a chance, head over to the Sweet Pea Stamps shop to check out the specials and while you are there, pick up this beauty then grab your coloring medium of choice and experiment! It's addicting......
