Dragon Luck

Sweet Pea Stamps has sooooooooooooo many fabulous stamps and I am fortunate to own many of them.  Sometimes I like to just dig through my collection and remind myself of some of the ones that have been available for a while.  When I do that I always end up stamping one, two, twenty or so to play with.

This cutie is Dragon Luck by Lisa Victoria.  He can be purchased individually or on Plate #39 with three other adorable images.  One thing I just love about the dragons by Lisa Victoria is that many of them make great masculine cards.  I don't make or need a lot of those, but these are perfect when I do.  Especially for younger boy birthday or even cards.  Several of them work great for those kiddo scrap book pages too.  The Sport Dragons are FABULOUS!!!

It's Storytime

I love sitting down with my little girls and reading stories, which perhaps is why I fell in love with this Lisa Victoria image -Storytime.

This beautiful stamp can be found on Lisa Victoria's Dragons, Sheet 1 (Plate 39).

I used Copic markers to color this image.

A Couple of Dragons

Hi! I finally got a chance to play with a few of the adorable dragon stamps from artist Lisa Victoria. For the first one I used Dragon Luck and colored it with my Copics. After coloring as I normally would I went back and added a lot of dots to mimic scales. I also added some Crystal Effects to the ladybug on his nose!

I colored the dragon on the second card (Rain Dragon) the same way, but when I added the stickles it covered up the scales. I turned to the handy dandy Crystal Effects again to give the rain some dimension.

Altered CD Calendar

I have had the idea of creating a calendar with the little tear off months forming in the back of my mind for a while now. This is the first attempt, there are some wrinkles to iron out but it turned out pretty cute.

To make it stamp and color the dragon (I used copics) and then trim it out. Cut out a mat and glue it onto a CD. Tear a piece of coordinated paper about 1.5" x 3" and adhere it from the left edge of the cd in the center - the right side of the paper will fall about 1/3 of the way from the right edge of the disc. Using a Lavendar colored distress ink pad I inked the edges of the disc and swiped it across the paper a few times.

Adhere the dragon to the right side of the disc with it's wings extended over the edge a bit. For the calendar I did a quick search online for a printable one, what I used wasn't that great but it works. Print it out on a solid coordinating color and cut out the months. Cut mats from a darker paper that about about .25" wider and .5" taller than the calendar pages and adhere each one. Use a piece of double sided tape along the upper edge of each page to attach them all and stick to the base.

I used Prima flowers to embellish along with Rock Candy Stickles from Ranger and some rhinestones. The hanger is a fancy paper clip from Making Memories, I just bent the plain part of the clip out so it can rest on a wall hanger.

I am thinking of creating a few of these as part of a teacher's gift set for the upcoming school year. Well I hope you enjoy it!

Today I would like to share with you the Rain Dragon from Lisa Victoria's Fantasy Art Collection. He is just so adorable! I colored him with copics.

Hi fellow Sweet Pea Stampers!

I wanted to share another card created with ©Lisa Victoria's Dragon Luck from Plate 39. I just love this little guy. I can look at him and he just makes me smile!

One of the many aspects of all the wonderful, fabulous plates available at Sweet Pea Stamps, is the awesome sentiments or quotes that comes on each plate. I love quotes and love to mix different sentiments or quotes with different stamps from other plates which I did for my card today. I tend to stamp out each sentiment several times and then store them in a Ziploc baggie. This works out perfectly when I need a sentiment but am short on time.

The sentiment I used on today's card is from Plate 25 and worked perfectly for this card. My card actually came together rather quickly. Dragon Luck is colored with Copics, the dp is from My Minds Eye, the flower is from my scrap basket as was the Ladybug brad.

I hope this card brought a smile to your face, it certainly has cheered me up :-).

Lisa Victoria's Dragons

Remember the movie "Dragon Heart" with the voice of Sean Connery as the dragon and Dennis Quaid as the knight? I love that movie! So you can imagine my total squeal of delight when Lynette shared with the DT that Lisa Victoria would be the newest artist to join Sweet Pea Stamps and a preview of Plate #39!

I can not tell you how much fun it was to color this little guy up! It was so much fun that I whipped out four different versions of him. Even making the cards came easy for me :-)

What was truly fun for me was using some of the bolder Copic colors on him (or her, lo).

How adorable is he??? This is "Dragon Luck" from Plate #40. Doesn't he just melt your heart? I love red, but must still be on my bold color kick. I'm pretty sure it has a lot to do with the weather :-), so I paired him with bold card stock colors. I've said it before, I love 'white' space and to tend to sneak white in especially when I use a lot of bright colors. The flowers are white Prima flowers that I just colored with my Copics and then added some Dew Drops in the center of two of the flowers.

For my second card, I went with another bright color, blue. Actually I used some violet colors too. (I know I should really track the colors I use :-( but I get so wrapped up in the coloring and will try all sorts of colors. Like a gray over red :-) ):

Notice I paired "Dragon Luck" with more pastel colored card stock and again, white card base.

A friend of mine had sent me a little goody package which included the ladybugs. How perfect for this image, huh?

I've got several more versions of him colored up. Just needing to make the cards which I'll be sure to share :-).
