Featured Artist Week with Sande

Sande here with you today and I am starting a new featured Artist week.

 Our Artist this time is Conie Fong. 

Conie has drawn so many cute and beautiful images that first I couldn't choose which one I would take but then I saw this "Butterfly Princess" and I lost my heart to it.

 Coloring has done with my Copics and I made a board/wall hanger with beautiful blue colours.

 The image can be found as rubber and as digital. 

Isn't she just adorable?!

Runaway Ruby

Happy Friday everyone!  Here's a great Sweet Pea stamp from artist Regan Kubecek called Runaway Ruby.  Be sure and check out the artist's coloring of this image as my coloring gives you a totally different idea.  I am using all warm greys on the background so the girl stands out.  I just love the little Skull on her hat, around her neck and in her hair, so I added some great skull borders as well as some fun skill die cuts.  All my background/embellishments are in a three color combo, white-black-tan.

I have kept my design very simple as I didn't want to detract from the image.

Coloured with Copics, added a little Frantage, Kaisercraft pearls, Kaisercraft border punch. A little glitter pen and Spica pens too. Bazzill cardstock.

Wisteria by Meredith Dillman

I still remember when I got my first Meredith Dillman stamp. Her unique way of drawing makes these images so much fun to color. And I often find myself really playing with light and shadow, when I work on one of her images. Like this gorgeous Wisteria.

I used Copics to color her, and chalks for the background. I find chalks so easy to use when adding just a little bit of color to the background. The Copics I used are:

Skin: E0000, E000, E00 E11
Wings: RV00, RV91, RV93, RV95, RV99
Wood: E43, E44, E47, E49
Dress: BG70, BG72, BG75, BG78
Leaves: G82, G85, G94, G99
Hair: E50, E53, E55, E27
Butterflies: Y32, Y35, Y38, E15

I didn't really have papers that matched the colors of her wings or dress. But the greens match the leaves perfectly and I think the brown and pink in the papers compliment the aqua and purple on the image. I wanted the card to have a real girly and elegant feel, so I added lace and a few dew drops, as well as skeleton leaves, to give it a sense of being fragile to the touch.

Hydrangea Sprite

Hi to all visiting today. My card today features an image by artist MitziSato-Wiuff . Sweet Pea Stamps has her images as rubber stamps. If you are an avid rubber stamper, Mitzi’s images will be right up your alley.

For my little project I decided to create with one of Mitzi’s sprites, Whimsical Hydrangea Sprite. I have colored her with Copics and added some highlights with glitter pens and a Sharpie White paint pen.

My die cuts are Spellbinder’s circles and a butterfly circle. All those little butterflies are the waste from the butterfly circle die. I added four Cherry Lynn corner dies to finish the card.

Sweet Pea Stamps

Hello folks, here I am again with another creation for  Sweet Pea Stamps.  Today I am sharing with you a Christmas card made using the digi Scarlett Holly by Ching Chou Kuik.  I am trying to get all my Christmas cards done before I return to the UK in June so I can take them with me and leave them with my daughter so she can forward them on at the appropriate time :) :) Last year I got caught out, DHL wanted 50 pounds to send a card from Saudi, where I am, to the UK.  Alas it was for my lovely sister but I refused to pay and the local post is not that reliable so needless to say she did not get a real card, only a photo of it via e-mail.

Anyway, back to today and here is the card.

To make the card I had planned on using my die cutter for the top lacy section but the card I wanted to use is not very tight and after two attempts I gave up and tried an experiment instead.  Using the largest circle from Spellbinders Scalloped Grand Circles I positioned the die to cut just the top off the card.

Next I used a couple of bits of dies, a holly leaf from Lea'bilities Wreath For All Seasons and another leaf from Marianne Design Craftables Flower to create the cut out lacy top.

Next I coloured the digi with Promarkers

To finish off I used some Ice Stickles on the leaves for a bit of bling and a touch in the eyes too.

While that was drying it was back to the card base.  I used a rectangle of Papermania Christmas vellum and finished off with some red and green organza.

 Using Gold stamping ink I sponged the top area lightly on both the card front and the top of the inside of the card.

Time to play with a new toy.  This week my mini Bowdabra arrived and what a joy to make bows with.  If you are not a great bow maker it is worth trying this piece of equipment.  To finish off I used some gold leaves a friend gave me from a box of chocolates (she ate the chocolates first!!!!!) and then used a couple of the holly leaves cut out from the top of the card and some wee red beads.

Time to put everything together.  I did add the rest of the holly leaves to the card, 4 on the digi and 2 on the inside of the card, it seemed a shame to waste them.

Autumnal colours by Sande

 I bet you have noticed that there are lots and lots of gorgeous images at the Sweet Pea Stamps store and one of my favourite Artist is Ching Chou Kuik. Today I'll show you my card that I have created by using this amazingly beautiful image called "Green Woods" by Ching Chou Kuik. 

The colours on my card are autumnal but I love this colour combo a lot! 

Doesn't she look just fabulous with those colours? I have used my Copics as I always do.

 The image can be found at the store as a digi and a rubber.

 Hallo,
   I no more than got this digi in my inbox and I had to print her out and color her up :). She is 'Posey' by Norma J. Burnell  and I colored her with my copics.
  I had to do her up first in purples but then I did a fall colored version too, so I will show you both today :)
  I love her sweet face and the flowers that she is holding and in her hair.
