Good Morning Sweet Peas, It's my pleasure to be here with you today sharing a project featuring one of Sandra Caldwell's gorgeous images.  

I love Halloween, so I'm having great fun with all the gorgeous new Halloween images in the store, and today's project features Old Lady Ghoul by Sandra Caldwell.  Sandra has a wonderful quirky style of drawing, which make all her characters such fun to work with.  Check out her images in store here, your sure to find something for every occasion.

I would love to title Love Frogs. :)  It is such a cute image. 

It was a blast to color up. 

I used watercolor mediums and colored pencils, gel pens and chalks.

Every piece of this card was created with added chipboard to make it strong.

today I want to show you one of my Favourite cards that I created with the Amy Brown Dragonhead 2 Rubberstamp...

I coloured the dragon with Stylefile markers (alcohol markers) Molotow markers for the white dots and the background is first done with pencils and sansodor then added Frantage to the background.

Jane presents An Apple A Day by Karen Middleton

Today I have used the really adorable image An Apple A Day by Karen Middleton available in both rubber and as a digi from the store.

To begin with I coloured the image with Faber Castell Polychromos.  Normally if I am using a mixture of my crayons and Promarkes I first colour the image with the Promarkers then build up the colour with my crayons. This time I did it the other way round to see what would happen.  It was not very successful and I stopped pretty quickly after just playing on the hat.  I have heard of Promarkers sometimes blotting and have to admit in three years this has never happened to me - until today lol.  So here is the coloured image complete with my Promarker bleed grrrrrrr :) and yes the ugly pink bit at the top was me wiping the ink oozing out from the nib, alas after the damage to the image.  To cover up the bleed at the end of the card I added a very small butterfly.

With the image coloured I then created my card.  The design papers are freebies I have had for ages from a magazine.  I used the same design papers to create the flowers with another freebie, the Die'sire - blossom fleurs die which came on a magazine recently.  Rather like this die, easy and effective and perfect for adding height with a strong flower.  Each of the flowers was finished off with three pink pearls.  The cream leave behind the flowers were cut with Spellbinders Foliage and a second butterfly was added to one of the flowers.  Both butterflies were finished off with some extra fine pink glitter on the edges and a teeny tiny blue gem.  The base mat was distressed around the edges, the image mounted on two mats and both layers here were distressed too.  The second mat was cut using Tattered Lace die.  Some white lace was added for a wee bit of texture then the leaves and flowers were added.

The inside of the card used up the final scraps of paper I had left along with a caterpiller die from Poppystamps - he is so cute and saying as there is a caterpillar appearing out of the apple in the image I had to add him to my card.  He was also cut out of my design paper scraps.

Guest Designer: Janine presents Poppy from the mist by Ching Chou Kuik

Hello Hello,

Yeah its me Janine, i think some of you know me 

I have been away for some time, not feeling so happy. I needed a time out.

But Lynette ask me to be a guest designer and she is so kind to me that i decided to come and make a start en being creative again.

In the summer vacation  i colored this pretty little Poppy with my distress markers.

I decide to go green instead of grey because it is Poppy in the mist. 

So it looks like she is walking in the forest.

I love to use all kinds of material, and i used some kaisercraft.

I think the diecuts, paper is a great match with my colored image.

I hope you all like my first card as a guest designer

Angelique Presents Feeling Fabulous by Conie Fong

 Good morning everyone, Angelique here again and to follow last weeks post, I'm goin  to show you the inside of my Sweet Pea Stamps junk journal cover.

I've used different designer papers to cover the inside

Unfortunately I deleted the progress photo's by mistake.

In the center Ive placed a piece of chipboard and covered that with the design paper.

I've done that because I'm lazy and I do not like to sew, so my pages will be kept in place by elastic bands and I do not want the cover to bend under the pressure of the elastic bands.

 

I printed Feeling Fabulous by Ching Chou Kuik on tracing paper and fuzzy cut it

Why tracing paper?

I wanted to give it a bit of a "junk" look.

It's not easy to see on the photo's but because of the tracing paper, you can see the design paper through the colored image

 

 

I've colored her with various brands of color pencils.

Because I didnt want the colors to start "bleeding" when using my medium to glue the image I used a fixative

Holley presents Halloween Greetings from Lemon Shortbread

Here's a great image from Sweet Pea artist Lemon Shortbread called Halloween Greetings.  She has some stunning images for this holiday including this beauty.  I colored her up using copic markers in some bright purples with some orange pumpkins.  What little witch wouldn't love to dress this way?

Tera presents 'All Aboard' by Holly Durr

Hallo,
  Tera here with one of Sweet Pea Stamps newer images from new artist Holly Durr. She is called 'All Aboard' and I colored her with polychrome pencils.
  I just love the wings with the gears and stuff - so cool.
  I mounted her to a shimmery gold cardstock and added a couple touches of glitter on the gearsm her hat and lips.
 I also edged both layers with gold metallic pen and added some gold corner stickers.
  All for me today - back to coloring :) Ahhh happy me today :)
