Sparkly winter wishes

Having made quite a few Christmas cards in the last week I thought it was time to be a bit more adventurous. I decided to play a bit with colours for this winter card. It doesn't even have to be for Christmas - it would work great as a birthday- thank you- or even get well card at this time of year.

I have used Winterberry from plate 20. I love the little snowflakes around her and matched the image with a patterned paper that had snowflakes on it too. I coloured the image with promarkers in matching pink and blue shades and added a white twinkling h2o to the flowy part of her dress. I finally got my sakura gelly roll in the mail and had to try it out on the snowflakes for some extra sparkle.

Flowing in Silver...

This time around I decided to use ©ching-chou kuik's Flowing in Blue available at Sweet Pea Stamps.  This beauty can be bought as a single stamp or on a sheet with 3 others.  I can not believe all the new artists that Lynette is bringing in at Sweet Pea.  If you are a Fantasy lover you will be certain to find something that touches your heart!!!  

As you see in my title I have decided to be flowing in silver.......  I colored my new stamp with all pinks except her eyes and then colored the background with grays to make her look silvery!  I also added some pink stickles and some Opal liquid pearls for dimension. To keep in the pink and silver I used tones of those colors in my DP, card stock, brads and bow.  I hope you like her as much as I loved making this one!!!

Little Red Riding Hood

Stamps: Ching Chou Kuik's "Little Red Riding Hood" sheet 23, Plate 65

I just adore Ching Chou Kuik's whimsical version of Little Red Riding Hood! For today's cards I used some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist and Glimmer Screens for backgrounds. These are the scraps I have left over from other projects. When you use the glimmer mist screens (think opposite of a stencil), you spray over them to create a pattern. When you spray over them, the glimmer mist collects on top of the screen...so always have a sheet of cardstock handy to flip the screen over on to. So, all that glimmery goodness never goes to waste. I then added some washi tape and Tim Holtz tissue tape and some black and white baker's twine.

Scorpio

Hi everyone :) I'm excited to share another card with you today with a new illustrator for Sweet Pea Stamps. This particular image is illustrated by the incredibly talented Caron Vinson. It's called Scorpio and you can find it HERE. I colored the image with copics and then lightly inked around the image with purple ink using my Tim Holtz blending tool. Next I created my card base out of SU cardstock. My DP is from DCWV (the Black Currant stack . . . this paper is GORGEOUS!). For some finishing touches, I added a bow (tied with my Bow Easy), pearls, Primas, and roses from Wild Orchid Crafts. What do you think?

Bringing some sunshine with the rain

That is how this particular image by Samantha Rawlings for Sweet Pea Stamps always makes me feel.  The actual name of the image is Lil' Butterfly Fairy, but I see her peeking out after hiding under the flower during a rain storm. 

She is colored with my marker with some Stickles on her wings and the butterfly.  The paper is from Basic Grey and the glittery flower is one of the Petaloo Velvet Hydrangeas.

Here is hoping your day has a lot of sunshine in it without the rain!
