Elegant Ladies

Here's two wonderful cards using the new sheet that was released by Sweet Pea stamps artist Meredith Dillman (Plate #202). The first card uses Lady in Green, be sure to check out the artist's original coloring, which is stunning, and then look at my coloring here to see a different depiction. This stamp is so gentle and elegant. I added some clear shimmery glitter to her wings.

I also added some beautiful lace to the card that I think looks somewhat like a fan as well as matches the rounded cut used on the image base. I added a nice sentiment from Sweet Pea, "Reach high, for stars lie hidden in your soul. Dream deep, for every dream proceeds the goal."

The second card is using a crafty lady, a seamstress, perfect for that crafter in your life. This elegant lady image stands out wonderfully on dark paper. She's designed by Meredith Dillman and is called Fanciful Notions. I colored with Copic Markers, the image was cut out using Spellbinders Nestabilities and edged using Creamy Brown Colorbox Chalk on the edges.

She's sewing in the image, which made her go perfectly with this border punch, using amazing looking textured ruche paper called Khaki Crepe. The card base is Epic Thick Black Columns. I also used creamy brown chalk on the edges to highlight the columned texture. The creamy brown matches the khaki crepe paper color very well. This card would be just perfect for that sewing crafter in your life. Think of the quilt makers, stitchers, seamstresses,...I know so many talented ladies in that line of work. They would just love a card like this.

Have a great weekend. Break out the stamps and have a great time!

Cheers, Holley
