Today I want to show you how to make a custom
die cut that allows you to have an image extend
beyond the edge without getting cut off when
it goes thru the die cutter.
First stamp image, then position paper with image on die
for perfect positioning and tape with low-tack tape so it doesn't move around.
Then make a light pencil mark where image goes past edges and cut that part
out, going 1/8" beyond for ease of positioning die later on.
Now put image back into die and tape down, bring cut-out parts up and lay them on back-side of die
before putting it thru machine.
For this card I used a die by Memory Box called
"elegant scrollwork"
SpellBinders die "Labels 9"

gorgeous! Love how it extends beyond the die shape and the jewel on her forehead is the BEST!!!!!
ReplyDeleteConnie, this is so beautiful. I love this image too and the flourishes you added are gorgeous. Love the way you cut around some of the image to make her extend past the die.

beautiful card, love all the extra little touches you have done.
ReplyDeleteHi Connie,
ReplyDeleteJust found Memory box dies - they have some amazing dies. I love your out of the box technique - I always think it looks so good and is quite unique, chosing the shape and size, etc. I like to leave the easy to cut bits out and leave the more intricate bits in.
Best wishes, Sharon
I love the way you die cut this image so the head sticks off the die, it really makes that image stand out. She's just stunning that way and those memory box scrollwork die cuts look stunning.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great card. Love the colouring and the tissue thing you added. It gives it such a great look.
ReplyDeleteLovely card Connie. You did a fabulous job coloring this image in. Love the coloring on the cat. The rhinestone is you added is a nice accent
ReplyDeleteSuch a fabulous card, Connie. Love this image as well and what you did with it is so lovely.
