Soft look with dry chalks
I feel like I have gotten a bit stuck in the same technique of coloring with promarkers and using patterned papers for my cards. So today I made a quite simple card, but with a new twist. I used a versamark inkpad to stamp up Elaine Cox's Katie from plate 85 and rubbed it in different colored chalks to give the subtle look. I chose stronger papers in the same shades which I think enhances the softness of the image. It doesn't always have to be advanced with lots of papers and layers. Sometimes all you need is a new technique to get great and different results.

She look's beautiful Katarina. Too hot to use markers over the weekend - finding they dry as soon as you put them to paper so blending is impossible without streaks!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of using chalks and think she would look gorgeous with embossing and cosmic shimmer powders.
Best wishes, Sharon
You did a great job with this! i know that i can get stuck too... and I love that you tried a new technique! the pinks and greens are awesome!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Katarina! Those bright papers bring out the subtle chalks on your image perfectly.
ReplyDeleteYes it seems a person can get "stuck" in a certain mode doesn't it. Lovely images can get lost in all the stuff some cards have placed on them it seems.

What a cool idea. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteVery nice Katarina. She looks like a woman veiled by a sheer garment. sensual and hiding. Lovely.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely idea, Katarina. Looks so tender and soft. And I feel very inspired now to try out another technique.

VERY pretty and what a GREAT idea. This gives it an entirely different, but still beautiful look.
ReplyDeleteGirl.... you never cease to amaze me with your techniques.... love this. I would have never thought that the bold type of paper and then the soft colored image would work together, but it's just stunning. Love it.
ReplyDeletevery nice, I like the softness of the image
ReplyDeleteI love how subtle the image is on this card. Your ideas are always so fabulous.
