...............the winner is......................Alethea. Congratualtions Alethea, please email me your mailing info @ sweetpearubberstamps@gmail.com . Those of you that have not won, remember there still is chances to win on the design team blog's.

For My Valentine

Today I have a special treat for you - this is one of the newest images by Elaine Cox called Celestia from plate 106. She was colored with copics, the paper and roses are from Martha Stewart. Currently this sheet is available for pre-order and will begin shipping February 7!

Connie-Same Stamp Different Looks

Today I'd like to show you 3 different cards made from the same stamp so you can see just how versatile Sweet Pea stamps really are.
I began with a stamp by Samantha Rawlings from plate #58
which you will find
for this card I also used a phrase stamp from plate #2
Supplies:
floral edger punch by EKSuccess
Viva Decor Pearl Pen
gem and dp unknown
I fussy cut the image after coloring with Copic markers
and popped it with foam tape

for this card I embossed the
Happy Birthday folder in my Cuttlebug and
cut the frame using Spellbinders "Labels 9" dies.
Other supplies were:
Stardust Gelly Roll pen by Sakura
Copic markers
star brad from my stash
I sponged light blue ink around the frame but it is hard to see in my scan.

For my final card I used the paper piecing technique,
matching the dress to the designer paper.
Other supplies used:
SpellBinders "Labels 14"
Copic markers
Stardust Gelly Roll pen by Sakura
sticker words by Class A Peels
ribbon and dp unknown
I edged the mat with a Copic marker which
is hard to see in the scan.

I know that I could have gotten even more cards from
this very versatile image, but I am already behind on one of
the birthdays so had to get them finished and mailed.
Thanks for looking
Connie

Brigid Ashwood's Steampunk Bee and Firefly

I'm back today with another image from Brigid Ashwood. This one is her Bee image from her Steampunk artwork. Believe it or not NO COPICS!!!! I colored the whole image with Twinkling H2O's. This set is on pre-order now, sheet #4 /Plate#105.

After I painted the whole image, I masked the bee and sprayed a small amount of Glimmer Mist over the background. I added alot of pics to show you all the glimmer from the Twinkling H2O's.

Here is a simple card using the same image I showed you earlier this week Brigid Ashwood's Firefly. I stamped it on some kraft paper and used Distressing inks around the image and used a white gel pen to add some highlights. I wanted to show you that even though this image has alot of detail you can still not color it and the artwork is still just as beautiful.

I added some art tape, safety pins and that was about it.

This image is on sheet #3/ Plate #104 and both can be found HERE.

Thanks for stopping in today.

The Seahorse

After I loved the last round stamp so much, it inspired me to get even more of these beautiful round shaped stamps from artist ching-chou kuik. These stamps are stunning artwork and fit beautifully using Spellbinder's Nestibilities as backgrounds. The stamp used in this card comes from a sheet called "The Seahorse". I wanted to make her hair look like the water so I used copic markers in four shades of blue to color her hair. Then, I used a dark brown copic markers to color in the background of the stamp, as well as the leaves and the outfit of the maiden.

I chose a wonderful saying from Plate #24 that says, "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart. Helen Keller" I added two adorable brown hearts, metallic burnt gold border-punched paper, and a few buttons to coordinate with the color of the seahorses; these buttons make the seahorses in the image pop out of the design.

Hope you have a heartfelt day!

Brigid Ashwood's Firefly

Hi everyone, I'm jumping in to show you one of the new stamps/images that is on pre-order now. This artwork is by one of our new artist Brigid Ashwood. Her Steampunk artwork is so beautiful. The name of this one is FireFly. She is on sheet #3/ Plate #104.

I decided to make a travel journal book. This is going to one of my friends as she does alot of traveling and this wood be a great way for her to write down things while shes there so she don't forget before she get home.

Here is a close up of the image. I tried to make it alittle more rustic so if it got worn it would look like it was made that way.

I used some Tim Holtz DP and metal clock pieces. The rest of the DP is from DCWV Journey's collection, distressing inks, K&Company chipboard flower piece, clear sakura glitter pen, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, Chipboard flourish.

Here's another view to show some of the dimension.

Remember to check out all the stamps Sweet Pea offer HERE and to see what's on SALE.

Glam Goth Fairy

Hi everyone! :) For my card today, I decided to ink up this gorgeous new image illustrated by Caron Vinson for Sweet Pea Stamps. This particular image is called Glam Goth Fairy and I think she's beautiful! I truly love Caron Vinson's work, her images are truly a dream to color. I colored the image with copics and then sponged around the image with SU's Bashful Blue ink using my Tim Holtz blending tool. Next I lightly added some Stardust Stickles to her wings. I then created my card base using SU cardstock. My DP is from DCWV (All Dressed Up Stack). This is definitely a different color scheme for me, but I really like how the blues and greens go together. For some finishing touches, I added pearls, a bow (tied with my Bow Easy) and roses from Wild Orchid Crafts. What do you think?

Well, that's it from me today. Thank you all so much as always for stopping by.

Big Hugs, Christine

Take Two

Today I want to share with you two cards. The first one is made with this so lovely image 'One and Only Heart' from the ching-chou kuik's Fantasy Art Collection. It is to find on plate # 68 and it comes along with three more sweet images. As always I colored this image with Distress inks on 300 gram water color paper. Valentines day isn't far anymore, so what image would match better than this one.

Supplies I used for this card

Design Papers from Creative Imaginations and Fancy Pants 'Rusted Sun'. On the background paper are flames, but it is hard to recognize when you wouldn't know.
Flowers by Wild Orchid
Puncher by Martha Stewart
Spellbinders

This second card is made with another beautiful image from the ching-chou kuik's Fantasy Art Collection called 'Flowing in Blue'. I made a Flowing in Green out of it :o). You can find this image together with three more lovely images on plate # 47. Coloured with Distress as well.

Supplies I used for this card

white felted vellum paper by a local company
white embossed paper from my stack, don't know anymore from where I have it
Flowers by Prima and Wild Orchid
Punches by Martha Stewart
Dies Spellbinders and Magnolia
Lace from my stack

This small white metal bird cage is from a Christmas ornament I bought at a snip market. It haves different parts which I cut apart and use it for different cards.

Thanks for looking. Don't forget to switch over to Sweet Pea Stamps to take a look at all the fabulous stamps they offer.

Wish you a wonderful day!
Karina

Being still

There are times when I find I have to just STOP and be still for a moment.  Things are so busy that I sometimes forget to see what is around me and enjoy it.  Peachy Pink Fairy by ching chou kuik reminds me of that.  To be still and enjoy.
She looks just so relaxed and peaceful.  Maybe even a daydream or two is happening.  Or perhaps she is watching some ladybugs playing or a hummingbird feeding on a flower across the way.

Like any good fairy though, she does have beautiful shimmery wings of her own and is a stunning beauty.

What do you think she is doing?

Get Inky!
Alex

Heartfelt wishes

The stamp I have used today is one of the newer ones from ching chou kuik called one and only heart from plate 68. I used burgundy distress ink for the image's background and coloured the image with promarkers. The girl is coloured in several red hues as there are no good that matched the papers.  The colours I used were: ivory and blush for skin, dusky rose, ruby, burnt orange, burgundy, burnt umber, coral for dress and hair.

It's a quite simple card, but I like the monochromatic look and didn't want to overpower the image. Although I think a flower or a bow might have made it better. It's almost like something is missing, but I can't figure out what. The things I do like with this card is that I finally inked the background of the image and didn't leave it white like I usually do.

Birthday Present and Fairy Thank You

One of the most versatile stamp sets is Cupcakes and Presents, Plate #31. The stamps in this set are absolutely wonderful to color - quick and easy. One can use these stamps for so many different occasions besides the typical Birthday theme. Of course having said that, I needed a Birthday card, lo...

I love to draw the eye to the colored image by using lots of white space. I just think it really 'pops' the image. After I colored the present with Copics, I used Stickles on the circles. The felt ribbon is from K& Company, the metal dots from Colorbok and sentiment is computer generated and printed onto scrap white card stock. The bottom layer is white card stock embossed with Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder. I'm definitely going to create several more of these quick cards to have on hand.

For my next card I used Holy Night from Plate #21.

I know you recognize this stamp from Chin Chou Kuik's Fantasy Art. Yes, I know.... holiday themed stamp. But change the color of the holly and overall color theme and voila it became a Thank You card. (Or use an embellishment to completely hide the holly....)
I used Atyou Spica glitter pens on her necklace, dress ruffles and of course the leaves in her hair. For the candle flame, I adhered a small teardrop raindrop. I used pearlescent chalks for the yellowish background. One thing I wanted to point out is that I used 110lb Pure Luxury card stock. Blending is so much harder because the ink doesn't soak in which means no bleeding and it gives a different look as far as texture is concerned.

I also used Faber-Castell Pitt Artist Pens. I LOVE using these Indian inks to accent the smaller details of an image. In this case, I used these on her eyes and the eye make-up and a little on the cat's face.

Thanks for stopping by. Don't forget to check this week's special at Sweet Pea Stamps
and check out the new releases!
