Birthdays and balloons go together like ... ice cream and chocolate sauce!!! That's why this image from Sweet Pea plate #14 is a great choice for birthday cards....
For both of these cards I used my Cuttlebug and the birthday greeting embossing folder.
On the left I used a piece of Core'dinations paper. This paper happened to be brown on one side and pink on the reverse side. After running it through the Cuttlebug, I sanded the brown side to reveal the pink core of this paper. I trimmed the brown paper to slightly smaller than the pink card, but before I attached it to the card, I wrapped a sheer brown ribbon around the bottom edge and tied in a knot. I took a small piece of white cardstock and laid a piece of Punchinella over it before spraying with Glitz Spritz. (Punchinella is sequin waste, the leftover piece once the sequins are punched out.) (Glitz spritz is a watercolor type spray made with water, mica, and possibly some dye ink.) After this piece of white cardstock dried I stamped the image with black ink. The corners were trimmed with a corner rounder before attaching to the center of the card.
For the card on the right, I ran a piece of yellow cardstock through the Cuttlebug with the birthday embossing folder. I attached the yellow embossed piece to orange card using square colored brads in the four corners. I had found some multi-colored rick rack at JoAnn's and thought it would be just the right addition to this card. I cut a piece to fit the height of the yellow piece and glued it down the left side. I stamped the Sweet Pea image onto yellow cardstock with black ink and trimmed around the image. Then, I attached the trimmed image to orange cardstock and trimmed following the same lines I had trimmed on the yellow piece. I just wanted to make her pop off the card.
There are a lot more ideas for using this image.... Show us what you come up with....
