Denise presents Yuki by Conie Fong

Good Morning!!!
Today was my turn to show you some of my inspiration using 'Conie Fong's Yuki'
Boy was it ever FUN! First I printed my image smaller then I usually do and I was amazed that I could color it and stay in the lines! LOL!

When I cut it out, I felt like I was playing with paper dolls. Then I did some iris folding, if you haven't done it, it is totally fun and it looks good too.

Look at that dimension and those jewels are real diamonds. The butterflies are a die from SU and the flowers are stickers.

Jane Presents Teacup Pixie By Karen Middleton

Sweet Pea Stamps

Today is my day to showcase and image from Sweet Pea Stamps and I have chosen to work with the beautiful image Teacup Pixie by Karen Middleton which is available from the Sweet Pea Store in  digi format.

Not my usual sort of card, I find it so hard working with design papers unless I make them myself.  However, I have been tidying my craft room and have all these papers from magazines which I collected ages ago and just don't use.  Now I am trying to make a really hard effort to use them up, it is such a shame to waste them :)

There is a bit of a story behind this card, Ranjith who helps me out with some of the hard cleaning in the house like the dreaded windows etc. has a birthday coming up so this card is for him.  I have to put his name on the card as his mother told him many moons ago (he is the same age as me) that if somebody puts your name on the front of a card it means they think you are very special, so this is for any cards I make for Ranjith.  He loves cricket but I have done that in the past :) he also loves tea so something different for him, a funky card for a change with a teacup.  He is also always on his mobile chatting to his family back in Sri Lanka or other friends to I had to use this paper set as it had phone paper with it.  The papers and the digi were the starting point, colour came later hahaha.

With papers and layout sorted it was time to colour the digi, I used Promarkers.
Next, after hunting my stamps for something that would be the right size and giving up I cut the birthday and name text in vinyl on my die cutter.
Simple squares were used for the three DP mounts and each was distressed around the edges.  I cut the lace doily on my die cutter and coloured it with Promarkers along with the lacy ribbon border.  I chalked around the edges of the scalloped mount. These two patterns were created by 'Bird'.  White ribbon was also coloured with Promarkers to match the colour scheme.  To finish off three orange buttons and the inside of the card completed with the same background DP and some lime green paper.

Ingredients:-
  • Image - Teacup Pixie by Karen Middleton
  • Colouring Medium - Promarkers
  • Dies - doily and ribbon border by Bird, Spellbinders scalloped circles
  • Papers from an old craft magazine
  • buttons, vinyl etc. from my stash
Thank you for stopping by today and hope you have a happy crafting time ahead of you :) xx

Angelique Presents Lady Bug by Ching Chou Kuik

Good morning everyone
I hope youre all enjoyin your weekend.
For todays inspirational post I've made a little "painting"

I used the digi stamp Lady Bug by Ching Chou Kuik
Printed it on tracing paper.
Colored with pencils.

When I finished coloring the image I took a 4 x 6 painters panel
Using medium, I glued the image to the panel
Because the tracing paper is so thin and with the use of medium, it made the paper wrinkle a little when placing it on the panel.
However, I didnt try to fix it, because I felt that the wrinkles gave it something special

After dryin it, I used a stencil and some structure paste on the right top corner and left bottom.
Dried it with the heatgun and took some Inka Gold (diy rub and buff), added some to the edges and on the structur paste

To finish it, I placed pearl flatbacks on the flower centres and glitters on the wings of the lady bug

MATERIALS:
Lady Bug by Ching Chou Kuik, color pencils, Inka Gold (diy rub & buff), flatback pearls, glitters, painters panel, tracing paper, medium Amsterdam, white gel pen, structure paste, stencil

We have a very nice and friendly group on facebook and we would love to see your make with any of the Sweet Pea Stamps.

I hope you enjoyed my project
See you again next week
Huggsss, Angelique

Here's another great image from Sandra Caldwell that I would like to share today, it's called Mickey Fan.  Looks like a lady after my own heart!  I would be that grown up lady at Disney with Mickey ears on too, just like the kids beside me.  How adorable is this?  I always see things for kids but never for adults.  This is just too cute.

Here's a close-up of this wonderful image.

Tera Presents Steampunk Doll By Meredith Dillman

 Hallo,
One of my very favorite projects to do is a decorative box and today I used the 'Steampunk Doll' by Meredith Dillman to decorate it.
I colored her with prismacolor pencils and then added some glitter here and there and edged that panel with gold metallic pen.
I used a decorative corner made from clay and a sand dollar seashell that I had decoupaged with some light weight paper with old fashioned watches on it. (talk about hoarding my stash - the batch of seashells that I decopaged have been in a box 'saving' them since I picked them up off the beach back when I lived in south Texas - oh a bit over 25 years ago - sheesh....)
Anyhow I also used some older drawer pulls for the feet on the box as well as one on top to use lifting the lid and made a matching chipboard book to go with it too for pictures or a small journal - it is only 5 pages....
All for today - Take Care

Thanks so much to our amazing designers. Remember the third Monday of July you will see more art work for the “Christmas in July” challenge. I also want to remind you that our prizes are three digital images if the winner uses an SPS image, or one digital image if the winner does not use an SPS image. Can you give me one good reason why you would not want to use an SPS image? This challenge will end on August 1. Use the page above for your entries or click here.
Did you know…?
In our Sweet Pea Stamps Facebook group we have a progressive challenge every two weeks. First, we have a call for projects using any Sweet Pea Stamps image that is available in the store. That theme is “anything goes.” Then those entries will receive a digital image FREE of charge, chosen by our leader and SPS store owner Lynette, for Part Two of the progressive challenge. With that FREE digital image you are asked to make a project and enter it in Part Two. Random.org will pick the winner of Part Two. That winner will receive another digital image of the winner’s choice from the SPS store.
