Angel of the Christmas Stars, but it's not Christmas!

Here's a stunning image from Sweet Pea stamps artist Conie Fong called Angel of Christmas Stars, but as you can see, I have colored her up in a totally non-Christmas way.  This stamp can be used in many color combinations and is perfect for all sorts of beautiful cards year round.  Instead of coloring her flowers red like poinsettias, I simply made them pink to match the beautiful dress that I colored her in.  Isn't she perfect?

Here's a close up of this gorgeous image
Conie Fong's images are available in rubber stamps or as digital stamps at the Sweet Pea store.  Be sure to check out all of her amazing designs.  Hope this beautiful angel has inspired you today.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Cheers, Holley

Elaine Cox Water Lily Mermaid (Mermaid 2)

This card is made from a Sweet Pea Stamps image by the artist Elaine Cox.  It is called "Water Lily Mermaid (Mermaid 2)".  She is available in digital format for $3.00 or for those that prefer she is available in a rubber stamp for $5.99.
I have coloured the image in with my Promarkers, cut around the image, distressed with my Tim Holtz distressing tool, inked the edges and then sprayed with the Crafter's Companion Spray and Shine.  I love the effect of these sprays but they make me cough and cough even though I spray the item outside and leave outside for a while.  I just wish someone would bring out a nice spray that doesn't smell.  I can dream .........

The backing papers I wanted to keep subtle and didn't want them to overpower the image.  I have therefore used Bearly Mine Designs Just Plaids, Plain and Simple and Simply Dots.  They just add something to the card but don't overpower in my opinion.  Underneath the image I embossed a piece of card with a zig-zag effect and used a Martha Stewart punch on the edge.  I have finished the card off with some wide satin ribbon, a very little blue satin ribbon with dots, Craftwork Cards die-cut sentiment and some buttons.

Lori is on Youtube!

This tutorial features a fun sheet of steampunk stamps by artist Brigid Ashwood. I have used "Steam Bee" and the five gear stamps that come with the sheet. ( It also has a gorgeous steampunk butterfly not on the tutorial).

I demonstrate how to create the distressed background as well as how I created the dimensional gears under the bee. The eyes were made using micro-beads with Glossy Accents and I colored them a little with a Copic marker for some contrast. (E29) The embossing folder used was Cuttlebug Clockworks, and the chipboard gears were cut from Gadget Gears by Tim Holtz Alterations (Sizzix). The seam binding was colored with Antique Linen and Vintage Photo Distress Inks.
I added some ribbon and a Tim Holtz Word band that says," possibility begins with imagination."
The set is Brigid Ashwood sheet 4 Plate 105, or you can purchase Steam Bee separately at www.sweetpeastamps.com.

Tummy Time

Good Day all. Here is mine DT card at Sweet Pea Stamps. Really simple but cute card for a little Girl. This super adorable image Tummy Time by Elisabeth Bell, and you can find it HERE. I colored image with Distress Inks and added Glitter to the centers of the flowers, then Die Cut.
For the pink Background i used Cricut and added Dew drops around. Also i used stamps and Dies to create this Rose. For the leaves i used MS punch.
To finish my card i added Ribbon and some swirls Die cuts.
Thanks for looking.

Spring Witch by Norma Burnell

Aletha here with a little inspiration, or at least I hope that you all get inspiration from us. LOL

This week I am creating with a rubber stamp image by Norma Burnell. Norma’s Fairy Tangle images are all available in wonderful red rubber. Take a look at the new ones that are up for grabs. I have already ordered the new ones and I can’t wait to get them.

I would like to introduce you to “Spring Witch Owl.” Isn’t she beautiful? I know that she is a little autumn oriented, but I did use spring colors because she is a "spring witch" after all. After coloring her with Copics, I trimmed around her, and distressed the edges with DI Gathered Twigs.

Copics used:
R20
G99, G94, G85, G82, G40
YR18, YR16, YR14, YR12, YR61
RV99, RV95, RV93, RV91
E42, E43, E44, E47, E000, E11

I wanted to keep this card simple so Spring Witch would stand out. The designer paper has glitter on the flowers that was good. I used Spellbinder’s Rose Creations and Crealies leaves for my embellishments. Don’t they sparkle? The sparkle is from Viva Décor 3-D Paint in Rose and Moss Green. I think that I will be using this medium a lot!

Come back every day for a little more inspiration. Sweet Pea Stamps has a rubber stamp or digital images that will suit your creative needs.

Thanks for stopping by.

Elisabeth Bell's Sea Shell Shelley

Good morning my fellow crafters. Shanna here with a summer card to share!

I am so excited to share a fun summer card with you. I tried a cloud technique and I was not happy to see my B00 ran out and of course I don't have a refill and even worse stores I shop are out of stock of the B00 refill. So I had to come up with a color mix to mask the clouds I started... I need to practice making skies. I know I have done a few scenes but honestly others make it look so easy and so amazing. I am not sure I like my versions with the whole image colored.

So my card for today I am using Elisabeth Bell's Sea Shells for Shelley. Don't you just want to be at the beach with her??? I know I do!

Here is a close up of this cutie. Can you see where I tried to make clouds?
