Cherish Christmas

Recently Connie posted a project using the Mosaic Tile technique and it really inspired me. This is the sixth card I have made and am really addicted. This week I have used the technique on the ching-chou kuik's Cherish Christmas image from one of the most recent plates.

For starters I stamped the image and colored it with Copics, this image for some reason is pretty daunting to me when it comes to coloring....anyway after wards I picked out my mat, cut it .5" larger the the image and began cutting it up and gluing it down.

After I have the pieces arranged, I then take Diamond Glaze and give each piece a light coating and allow the image to dry overnight (well actually I touch it, first, in the middle of a piece, it sticks to my finger and I have to add some more glaze, sigh).

Then the image is ready for the card! Hope you enjoy it!

Birds of a feather wedding card

This time I have played with one of my new DT stamps from sweetpea called red robin fairy (from Elaine Cox' series) I don't think you have seen it here on the blog yet. It's one of my new favourites since I'm cookoo about animals and especially birds.

I originally wanted to make it a wedding card for a blogger. Since she didn't get back to me with her snail mail addy I didn't add her and her future husband's names. Instead I left it blank so it might not look very wedding-like. I still feel like it might be missing a saying or something to the left. I was thinking about writing: "birds of a feather" but I don't know if that saying would be suitable for a wedding?

I like the colour combo and the fact that I used dies as embellishments and not the usual flowers/bling/brads. And I coloured in the background too, for the first time.

Ahoy Matey.....

Hello everyone! I live in a small village in Wisconsin that is just up the road from Port Washington which is a Marina town and their theme is Pirates so when I saw the magnificent pirate stamps I just knew I had to have them and color them up.

This stamp is Ching-chou kuik's Caribbean Treasure from sheet 10, plate 36 available of course at  Sweet Pea Stamps.

I colored her with copics and added some glossy accents on the skulls and her eyes. Some stickles here and there were added to make her sparkle. Liquid Pearls in Opal added deapth with the tiny dot accents and to make her string of pearls. Her treasure chest is filled with gem stones as well as placed along side of her.  Skull and cross bones and daggers finish the corners. Thanks for letting me share!!!

"Life's Beauty Inspires Me To Kreate"

Elaine Cox White Leaf Mermaid

Hi Everyone,

For my post today I decided to play with Elaine Cox's White Leaf Mermaid from Plate#48. Not only did I use Copics to color this wonderful image, I also used my Prismacolor markers for the rock, Twinkling H2O's for the background and some Spica Glitter pens for the vines, leaves and the fish. I then finished off the image panel by applying a glass effect gel with a spatula, spreading the gel unevenly over the whole panel to give that impression of water.

Besides using ribbon, I created 'shavings' from card stock scraps to give the card a little more texture. I just adhered these 'shavings' underneath the stamped panel.

It really never ceases to amaze me how much fun it is to play with all of the whimsical and magical images from Sweet Pea Stamps. Here's one final look at the finished card and note, lol, I did not even mention that there are a few (ahem) goof ups. Mental note to myself, can not use an iron to speed up drying time on gloss gel :-).

Sweet Pea Stamps

I began this card by first picking my papers and finding it is much easier to match inks with papers than the reverse.

I knew I wanted to do an aqua colored theme so it was easy to pick and choose.

I cut along a curvy line on one paper and used a Martha Stewart punch on another.  On a third paper I cut a Spellbinder die "Classic Frame" and smooshed aqua and gold inks on it after stamping the 

verse included with this plate.

Only then did I begin coloring the image.  To bring out the green of the background I had to color her hair green of course.  The Big Green Brad that I got from a swap helped also.

I think it brings out the "seaweed theme."

Having this much fun with rubber stamps really ought to be illegal!

Restless Thoughts

Good Morning!! Today I have a Sweet Pea card to share with you. I have had this image colored for over a month, so I can't remember all the colors I used to color her.

I think this image is just beautiful. I used "Restless Thoughts" by ching chou kuiks Plate#45 for Sweet Pea Stamps. The DP is from Rusty Pickle. I made my decorative frame using my cricut cutter, then painted them with some twinkling H2O's. I added some ribbon that my blogging friend Sarah sent me and the flowers on the sides came from my friend Rellz.
I also added some Pink bling and used an EKsucess border punch.

Not Just a Pumpkin

Hi! I think ching-chou kuik's witch images are my very favorite of hers! And since Halloween is my favorite time of year, I decided it's never too early for a Halloween card! This card is very simple - 1 Designer Paper, 2 Colors of Cardstock with one embossed for interest, 1 Ribbon and some slight ink distressing.
