Pretty Peacock Pocket Calendar

I was so excited to color this beauty by Ching Chou Kuik! Her name is White Peacock Dryad. I thought she would make a perfect cover for a little pocket calendar. I always try to do a few of these for gifts at Christmas and like pretty images that you won't tire of.

Rising Flame in blue

Some time ago, Lynette asked the DT to select their favorite of ching chou kuiks images.  I was so very, very torn and there were many amazing ones from which to select, but I eventually settled on Rising Flame.  It is still the top of my list.

I have seen many beautiful color combinations with this image and I loved playing with another.

Ocean Fantasy

After the busy holiday season, I finally had a chance to sit down, unwind and attempt to color. It's always hard for me to choose from the beautiful stamps and decided to close my eyes and let my fingers pick a stamp. (After this month, my brain and head needs a rest :-) So my friends, for my card today, I (ahem, my fingers) picked Ocean Fantasy from Plate #21.

Align Center

I decided to use my oval nestability die to 'focus' on the beautiful mermaid. Since I had not played with my Copics in what seemed like ages, it took me a while to get her colored.

The card base is 4.25" by 5.25" because I had a kit from Rusty Pickle and decided to use the file folder extending the tab at the top. The prismatic card stock panel is from Colorbok and the glittery swirls are stickers from White Blossom.

Added a handmade ribbon rose, satin ribbon leaf vines and a button. I used tweezers to tuck the end of the leaf vine ribbon into the button holes.

As always when I started out coloring I had doubts thinking that my "mojo" had not returned but anytime I sit down and start coloring any of the Sweet Pea Stamps, I always end up finding my crafting mojo.

Make sure to stop by the shop and check the latest specials :-)..... thanks so much for stopping by.

Thank you fairy much

I'm so happy that the time for making Christmas cards is over. I love Christmas, but I've been making a card a day for two weeks now and I'm exhausted, lol.
For today's card I'd like to show you a thank you card I made. I'm sure you have people to thank after the Christmas season. The great thing about thank-you cards is that there is no theme you have to follow - everything is allowed.

I have used one of ching chou kuik's latest images called purple hearts from plate 68. She is coloured with promarkers and shimmery dry chalks for hair and background. I used a Martha Stewart butterfly punch on the background paper, then cut out a rectangle on the card's fold top of the card. I was so proud of myself for coming up with this idea. Don't think I've seen it anywhere else before, so remember where you saw it first ;)

I added some extra sparkle around the image and on some of the butterflies. The text is handwritten and I'm very happy with it (especially concidering I wrote it 4am)

I just love the airy spring-like feel of this card. Can't wait to make more!

One and Only Heart

I love this stunning Sweet Pea stamp from artist ching-chou kiuk. The stamp is called "One and Only Heart". She is just stunning. You can find her on this page (click HERE), the image is also sold on Plate #68.If you have seen the original coloring from ching-chou kiuk design shown on Sweet Pea's website or some the beautiful cards created using this stamp by other artists here on the design team, you can see how wonderfully versatile and different this stamp looks based on how it is colored. I chose to use a very light color for the dress and leave the background white. I chose a lovely saying from Plate #33. As Valentine's Day approaches, I find this saying can be so true. Oh, how I wish I could sometimes close my heart and not feel so much!!

Hope you will all go over to the Sweet Pea site and take a look for your Valentine's Day inspiration.

Royal Flower

When I saw this beautiful image by Caron Vinson, I just couldn't wait to ink it up. This particular image is called Royal Flower and I think she's absolutely gorgeous! I colored the image with copics and then sponged lightly around the image with SU's Pretty in Pink ink using my Tim Holtz blending tool. Next I added some Stardust Stickles to her wings and to her dress. I created my card base out of SU cardstock. My DP is also from SU. For some finishing touches, I added a bow, pearls, dew drops, and roses from Wild Orchid Crafts. What do you think?

Well, that's it from me today. Thank you all so much as always for stopping by.

Big Hugs,

Christine

Connie-Meredith Dillman Peacock Fairy

Today my card is by Sweet Pea Stamps artist Meredith Dillman, plate #76
and you will find her delightful art made into
deeply etched red rubber by clicking
I made the custom frame by running 2 different
sizes of Spellbinders dies from
their "Labels 9" set through the
Cuttlebug at the same time.  I cut them and then embossed them together.
I popped up the frame for dimension and
sponged some powdered shimmery chalk
by Stamp N Plus "Stardust" around the image after
I colored with Copic markers.
I added a rose by Prima "Fairytale Rose" and
a pearl swirl (unknown).
A small dp strip across the center got a little lost in the
riot of pattern but it is there.
Please excuse my coloring today.  I couldn't seem
to hold the marker still enough to stay in the lines.....
I've had a death in my family so I am
slightly shaky.

Thanks for looking.

Let's Read....

Today I wanted to share with you some goodies I made for my older Grandkids!!!  I think one of the most important things is the love of reading and I have always bought and have book readily available for my babies when they come over.  I decided for the ones that are at least old enough to understand what it would be used for I would make special book marks.  Here is just a sampling of the one's I have made.

For my older granddaughters I used one of Samantha Rawlings Little Sweethearts called "The Butterfly Fairy". She can be purchased as a single stamp or with 3 other adorable sweeties at Sweet Pea Stamps.
The boys got a book mark with this cute as pie dragon from Lisa Victoria's Fantasy Collection called "First Day of School"available as a single stamp or with 3 others, one I will show you next from Sweet Pea Stamps.
And last but not least the little girls got this bouncing ballerina also from Lisa Victoria's Fantasy Collection called "Dragon Ballerina" also available as a single stamp or on a sheet with 3 other wonderful stamps at Sweet Pea Stamps.

Thanks for letting me share with you today.  Don't forget to check out our challenge blog - "In A Sweet Pea Dream" and try your hand at the current challenge!

Restless Thoughts

I just got this beautiful image from ching-chou kuik's fantasy art collection called Restless Thoughts, plate #45. I love this maiden, she's both elegant and innocent at the same time. I put her on a 6x6" card and used a beautiful metallic pink cardstock and some Prima floral accents along with some shaped butterfly buttons to highlight the card. To the right is an enlargement of just the stunning image created by the artist and my coloring using Copic markers.

If you click the link included above, you can see the artist's coloring of this image and how differently you can make her look with your own coloring.

I added a wonderful saying "May all your wildest dreams come true!" This saying comes from stamp plate #70 . It's just perfect for all sorts of great occasions.

Hoping that all your wildest dreams come true!

Cheers, Holley

My Champion

Hi everybody, I needed a quick birthday card for a little boy who is already showing his football spirit. I immediately thought of the adorable Gum Drop Gang's Cameron from Plate #16:

I kept the design of the card simple since this card is for a little boy who wouldn't like a lot of embellishments. I stamped the You are my Champion sentiment which is also from Plate #16 onto scrap card stock and then cut the sentiment apart. The Happy Birthday sentiment is from Simply Verticals Plate #4, also cut apart and layered next to each other.

The Gum Drop Gang is adorable and really quick to color, sure to delight anyone. I know that Cameron, Hayden, Molly and Olivia always bring a smile to my face :-).

For my second card I used Blue fairy by Meredith Dillman and she is also on the same sheet.

The image is from Sweet Pea Stamps called Holly Fairy and she can be purchased as a single or on a sheet with 3 other beautiful Christmas images on it(Sheet #21/ Plate # 60 by ching chou kuiks)

I used some DCWV older Christmas DP. I added some lace and some American Crafts Holly Leaves and flower that I added glitter glue to then some MS fine glitter. I also added some ribbon from my blogging friend Rellz. I colored the image with copics and added some more glitter glue and fine glitter to the leaves.

Peace

Hello! I have made a card today using an image by Nikki Burnette. I have to say I was a little intimidated when I first got this one because there seems to be so much to color, but once I got started it was really fun!

When I was done I sprayed the whole image with Shimmer Spritz in Sparkle. It looks lovely and sparkly, without effecting the image in real life but in the photo it is making it look kind of grainy and blurry....The doves are a Martha Stewart punch from last year - I punched it several times and cut it apart and the re-layered it back together so that I could position the wings differently on each of them. For the brown background piece I coated my embossing folder with Espresso Bean Glimmer Glam before putting the paper in.

The Details:
Stamp: Nikki Burnette's Neva (Plate 82) - Sweet Pea Stamps
Paper: Basic Grey, Early Espresso (SU), White for image - Copic XPress
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Copics:
Skin: E000,E00,E11,R00,R20
Hair: E44,E47,E49
Clothes: E15 W/R35,R37.R39 over, BG10,BG11
Background: B000,BG10,BG11,E44,E47,E49,Y000,Y02,Y15
Misc: Stardust Stickles, Sakura Clear Stardust Pen, Shimmer Spritz, Tattered Angels Espresso Glimmer Glam, Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, Martha Stewart Border Punch, Martha Stewart Dove Punch, Taylor's Tiny Twinkles

I hope your day is wonderful!
:-)Traci

Blue Elegance

What a fun image to use rich, deep color with! I enjoy adding color to their eyes and making them so dramatic. I chose a simpler layout since my image was more detailed. I couldn't resist a big blossom to spice things up though!
