Summery butterfly wishes

Finally a card from me and let me tell you: I had so much fun making it. A dear internet friend of mine is having her b-day soon and I decided to make a special card for her. She mentioned in her latest e-mail she was into pink/green and shabby chic at the moment. I found these papers that are both and since the colour combo is one of my favourites I was excited to start. Choosing an image was tricky, but as soon as I saw this stamp called Untouchable by Linda Biggs (plate 81) I knew it would be perfect. I wanted to make it super girly and summery and wanted to add more embellishments and details than usual. I think I managed to learn something new as the card is a bit outside my comfort zone with all the details. If nothing else I managed to learn to measure the whole paper properly, or at least try on a piece of scrap, before I go all out with the punch, lol.

The little butterfly on the stamp is the exact shape and size as one of the butterflies on the border punch. I cut it  out, embellished and raised up the wings a bit.

More ATCs

I got so inspired by my last ATC that I decided to make some more. And I'm just warming up. This is a great way to try out new techniques as the area to work is so small (about 2.5x3.5") It's also a great way to use up anything small you might have: paperscraps, bling, punches etc.

I have stamped directly onto patterned paper as I love the sheer look it gives. It's perfectly fine to colour on although you might not get a brilliant shading (great for us that hasn't perfected our colouring skills)

For this pink/green I used one of Meredith Dillman's stamps from plate #94. She is actually holding an egg, but attaching a flower made the image more versatile. The word stamp is from ching chou kuik's sheet 7, plate 29. I kept it a bit distressed and added gold. Love that combination.

For my other ATC I used Linda Bigg's "Bella's paradise" from plate 81. The patterned paper already had the black detail. All I had to do was stamp and colour. I love the underwater effect here. I also went a bit crazy with my glitterpen and added dimensional glaze on the black swirl to the right. Finally before mounting I punched a border and attached it to the right to even out the ATC layout.

Snow queen has it all...

...and then some! I went crazy with the colours for this card. Have you ever seen so much going on? It was a delight to colour though.

For today's card I've been playing with a wonderful winter scene drawn by Linda Biggs called snow queen.
I couldn't decide on a colour scheme, but knew I wanted to add some sparkle to the flakes. I started out by using blue, but it got a bit too much so after finding these papers with pinks and reds I went all in :) Maybe a bit too much, lol.

I struggled with it and I'm not sure if I like it or if it's too cluttered. I wanted the image to stand out more, but it almost got lost here. On the other hand it coordinates with the papers and embellishments quite well. Ultimately I think I need to give this image another go.

Connie-SNEAK PEEK! New image by Linda Biggs

This beautiful image is a new line coming soon.
Brought to you by Sweet Pea Stamps and new artist, Linda Biggs.
She has many gorgeous images coming your way and all may be pre-ordered now!

I colored the image with Copic markers and stippled tan ink "Desert Sand by
CTMH" around it, then trimmed it out.
I matted on some tan paper and set aside.
For the base I used green, then tan and then some designer paper
I got from Oriental Trading.
Added a large flower by Prima "Island Pastel" with a
Really Big Brad in the center.
Some small jewels here and there to finish it off.

I am really excited about all the new artists coming aboard and
urge you to check out their new offerings.  Click the link below to see what
we have for YOU!

Snow Queen

My most favorite Fairy artist EVER is Linda Biggs. When I learned that Sweet Pea Stamps was going to have stamps designed by her I did a happy dance in my living room. I am still on cloud nine!!!! Even better, I got to play with one of them! Here is Snow Queen by Linda Biggs for Sweet Pea Stamps.
I added shimmer to her wings, edge of the dress, boots and hose. She is a beautiful fairy and almost makes me wish for winter.
I am so excited about all of the new artists Sweet Pea Stamps has been adding lately. There is some amazing talent and I can't wait to get my hands on ALL of them!!! Have you checked it out? If not, you need to and if you haven't in the last two weeks you need to again!!!!
