Merry Christmas from Elena

Here's a stunning image from Sweet Pea artist Nikki Burnette called Elena (Plate #73).  This stamp is just stunning.  It's a great image for making a heart warming Christmas card for the one you hold close.  It has incredible detail, but to highlight the sexy lady on the card, I colored in the background images using five different shades of warm grey copic markers.
Here's a close up of the colored image.  I colored the girl in warm colors to go with the warm greys in the background.  Isn't she beautiful? I just love those holly socks.  I would so wear those!

I added one of the vertical sentiment from the Sweet Pea vertical sentiments plate, Holiday Veritcals (Plate #13).  Then I added some gorgeous bling to finish off the card.  This paper is also some of the beautiful Bazzill embossed paper that already has a layer of shimmery decor on it (that's the dark red coloration in the background).  What a perfect Oooo La La card for the Hubby.

Check out this stamp when thinking about what you want to make your dearest for the holidays.

Cheers, Holley

A Splash of Red.....

I am sharing a monochromatic beauty with you today with a SPLASH of RED.  This is Telsa by Nikki Burnette.  You can purchase her and he other wonderful artwork at SWEET PEA STAMPS.

I colored her with all cool tone grays in Copics and then added just a splash of red.  Matted her with some swirls and added a feather in her hat and 3 more as accents. She was a pleasure to color and Kreate with.

Check out all the great sales going on at Sweet Pea Stamps and do not forget to enter the In A Sweet Pea Dream challenge.

Hats off to you

Today I would like to show you my first card using Nikki Burnette's Telsa from plate 73. I really like the edgy look of this stamp and thought it would be wonderful to use for a male card. I used blues and green which is my fav colour combo for male cards. The stamp is coloured with promarkers, cut out and mounted on a piece of patterned paper. All papers are from basic grey. I didn't want to overwhelm the card with too many embellies, but still wanted to use flowers. I think the buttons help to take the cuteness away from the flowers. The sentiment is handwritten and I thought I was very clever when I came up with it. Thanks for stopping by.

A Couple of Valentines

Hello! I have made a couple of Valentines today with images by Nikki Burnette. The first one uses Ryla from Plate 73. I just love her lingerie and the cute little owl! The paper is is one sheet, with the layered look printed on it. It was a little bigger than I like to make my cards though, so I cut the center pink section out and moved the beige corners in. It still has the same look as the pre-printed piece but is now 5.25 inches square instead of 6. I know that may seem like a lot of effort for such a small change, but I have envelopes that will fit the 5.25!! I also wrapped silver cord around the card to mimic the strings hanging in the image. The sentiment is a vertical sentiment from Plate 52, but I cut the letters apart so I could mount it horizontally.

The Details:
Stamp: Ryla - Nikki Burnette (Plate 73), sentiment from Plate 52, both from Sweet Pea Stamps
Paper: Bo Bunny, Chocolate Chip 9Stampin Up), White for Image (Copic XPress)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Spun Sugar, Barn Door and Walnut Stain Distress Inks
Copics:
Skin: E000,E00,E11,E13,R00,R20
Hair: E57,E59, E47,E49
Clothes:RV10,RV21,RV23,R24,R29,R39,C0,C1,C3
Owl: E50,E53,E55,E57,E59
Background: E50,E53,R24,R29,R39
Misc: Silver Cord (SU), Stardust Stickles

My second card uses Arden from Nikki Burnette's Plate 82. This is one of my favorite cards that I have made in a long time! I know it is pretty simple without a lot of embellishment, but I was so pleased with how it came out! All of the papers and the "forever" sticker are form Echo Park. (I've just realized that it looks like I mounted the music sheet upside down because the parts that are showing all have the notes upside down! I think most of the "right side up" notes are under the heart! I don't play an instrument - is this normal?!))

The Details:
Stamp: Arden - Nikki Burnette (Plate 82), from Sweet Pea Stamps
Paper:Echo Park, Basic Black (SU), Iced Azalea (Prism), White for Image (Copic XPress)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black

Background: E50,E53,R24,R29,R39

Cards using images by Nikki Burnette

I created 3 cards for Sweet Pea Stamps and I used 3 images from one of our new artist Nikki Burnette. This first one I used "Elena". I love these images. And to tell you the truth this image took forever to color as there is so much detail to this image, but I had a blast coloring it. I used some new Basic Grey Christms paper called Jovial. I added some premade flower, but I added some buttons to the centers.

I colored in the fire with copics as the image doesn't have a fire. You have to make your own.

I also created a Halloween card using "Cassia" also from Nikki Burnette's first sheet with Sweet Pea Stamps. I used some DCWV DP, my new 3D Sizzix rose die, Quickuts vines die, MS branch, Holly leaf and a border punch. I strayed some Glimmer Mist in Pearl over the image after I colored it with copics and added some to all the black die cut pieces. The sentiment is from a Elaine Cox's set at Sweet Pea Stamps, that I stamped and cut apart.

Here's a pic showing you all the Glimmer Mist I added.

And now for my last card. I used "Telsa" also from the same Sheet by Nikki Burnette.I used some Basic Grey " Pyrus" DP, a Tim Holtz Sizzix embossing folder in woodgrain, Tim Holtz Alterations Tattered Flowers Sizzix Die.

I colored the image and background with copics then went over the entire image with some Ranger Distress crackle paint in Clear Rock Candy. Let it dry and scratched some of it off then rubbed in some Distressing ink in Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain then rubbed off any that was left sitting on top of my image.

What do you think?? I really love the worn vintage look it gave it.
