Holley presents Beautifully Red by Katerina Koukiotis

Have you seen the new shaded images at the Sweet Pea store?  These images make coloring so simple an easy, you can still add your own shading techniques and colors, but you can also just print them out in black and white and leave them as they are OR just add a single highlight color (like skin tone) OR do full coloring to add even more depth.  Here's a stunning image from artist Katerina Koukiotis called Beautifully Red.

Here's a closeup of this lovely image, the paper shown here that is actually stitched is wall paper!! Did you have any idea of that?  Lots of places you can get fabulous free remnants the perfect size for stitching up and making little fun boxes for your cards.

Have a great weekend and be sure and check out the newest images from artist Katerina Koukiotis, esp. these fun pre-shaded ones.

Cheers, Holley

Jane presents Fairy Tea Party by Katerina Koukiotis

Today is my day to showcase and image from Sweet Pea Stamps and I have chosen to work with the beautiful image Fairy Tea Party by Katerina Koukiotis which is available from the Sweet Pea Store in both rubber and digi.

Time to make another of my tea bag holders which I so love giving as gifts :)   I started by cutting all my sections for the tea box holder from a pattern I made.  I then covered the box with some awesome hand made paper a friend brought me back from her holidays, the colours were just perfect for the digi I had coloured earlier.  Before attaching the hand made paper I embossed it with a Spellbinders embossing folder, not a deep embossing as the paper is very soft and did not want to hold the embossing well.
Next I went to town with lots of die cuts.  The image was mounted on turqouise card, the same card the box was made from and also some matt gold card.  I added one of the a Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 4pk - Borders to one side and a Spellbinders Les Papillions 2 butterfly. Another of these butterflies was added to the back of the box, and in the centre of each butterfly I add a small turquoise butterfly gem.  For the label I used Spellbinder Ornamental Tag 1 and added another butterfly gem.  For the swirls I added around the box I used Spellbinders Floral Flourishes.  All the die cuts were cut using the same turquoise card I used for the box and the matt gold paper which I glued on one side, this gave me die cuts which matched the box both from the front and the back sides.  A little gold bronzing powder was added to the top rim of the box and there we go, all done.

Ingredients:-
  • Image - Fairy Tea Party by Katerina Koukiotis
  • Colouring Medium - Faber Castell Polychromos
  • Dies - Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 4pk - Borders, Spellbinders Les Papillions 2, Spellbinder Ornamental Tag 1 and Spellbinders Floral Flourishes
  • From my Stash - gems, hand made paper and bronzing powder

Tera presents Cherry Blossom Fairy Baby by Katerina Koukiotis

Hallo,
My day to share a Sweet Pea Stamps project and by now you may have noticed that I love to make baby gift boxes... well I have another one for you today, complete with a memory book.
I used Katerina Koukiotis's new image for us called 'Cherry Blossom Fairy baby'  and colored her up with polychrome pencils. This image and a couple more new ones from Katerina are preshaded so it makes them very easy and quick to color.
I really love this little sweet face - especially the lips :)
For the box - I decorated it with pretty papers and added some gold drawer pulls for the feet and one decorative one for the lid, added some bows and a flower and some gold corner stickers. The edges are all edged with gold metallic pen.
The inside bottom of the box is lined with pink felt . Inside is the memory book (approximately 5 by 7 inches) and it has 5 pages and is decorated with the same and matching papers as the box.
In addition to the image on the book I added a bow and some pretty ribbons to the rings holding the pages together.
All for today - Take Care
       Tera

Halloween in White

Happy Halloween everyone!  Here's a great card I did today on some gorgeous paper in whites, as you can see it has a shimmery background that is embossed with ghosts.  Then I added some off white paper in which I die cut and embossed a graveyard scene as well as some grave stones and some skull and crossbones.  Can you just imagine the ghosts flying up out of the graves?

This gorgeous image is called Twinkle Twinkle Little Star from artist Katerina Koukiotis.

Here's a close up of the image, I think this gorgeous image could be used anytime of year!  Here in Austin we have a huge bat colony that is quite famous, so everyone loves to see bats.

You can download this gorgeous image and make a card for that Halloween treat today! or grab this stamp and use her for any other fun project you like.  If you do, share your creation with us over on the Sweet Pea Stamps Friends and Fan page at Facebook.

Love Never Dies

Here's a stunning image from Sweet Pea artist Katerina Koukiotis called Love Never Dies.  What a stunning image.  I truly can not imagine losing some one so near and dear to me.  I added a simple sentiment in vellum "become STRONG," but I know that is so very hard at such a real trying moment in life.  There's gorgeous glittered cardstock in the back and some beautiful lace at the bottom.

Here's a closeup of this image, she's currently available in digi as well as rubber format.

Behold the Lamb Katerina Koukiotis - Jane's view

Sweet Pea Stamps

Hello folks, here I am again with another creation for  Sweet Pea Stamps.  Today I am sharing with you my DT creation using the digi Behold the Lamb by Katerina Koukiotis

I am still on my family Christmas card mission and this one is for my Mum :)

I started off by colouring the digi in my Mum's favourite colours, blues and mauves.  Once coloured I fussy cut her (the digi that is, not my Mum hahaha)
Promarkers used to colour the image
Next I cut some blue stiff paper to form the cascades in my Tri-Fold Cascade card.  I plan to use just blue and gold for the background folds so on one section on each side I used my rolling pin and a snowflake embossing folder.  By doing it this way I can control where the embossing is.
Next I dapped over the top with gold stamping in.
On another section I used gold embossing powder - it look a bit messy here but the end result on the card is what I was after.
I covered the base of the card with the same blue stiff paper that I used for the cascades and then, using adhesive spray overlaid with some semi transparent and gold swirl wrapping a friend gave me which was the wrapping on some flowers she was given.  Yep, my friends are pretty good a passing all their bits of wrapping etc. onto me :)
I have been playing around using metal sheets and dies, I love the effect of the metal.  Here I have used gold metal sheet and the Crafty Ann Flourish-5 die.
Final bit to do before finishing off was the bow.  Using ribbon to match the blues and mauves in the digi colouring and metal wire to hold the bow tight I did not want to waste the ends so wrapped the wire bits around a toothpick to make spirals.
And here we have the finished card.  I have used gold line stickers around the front edge and a peel off sentiments.  Three gold flowers were also added, they came from another friend who found them attached to a box of chocolates that somebody had brought into work.  A fair bit of recycling going on in this card :) :) :)
