A day filled with sunshine

This sweet fairy on Plate #125 by Samantha Rawlings just make me think of sitting outside in the sun on a beautiful Spring day.  Since it was snowing at my house this morning, I guess it isn't in my near future to do so, but I can certainly dream!

Get Inky!
Alex

Fly away Fairy!

Here's one of the most delightful fairy stamps that was designed by well known artist Valerie Wade. This fairy is named Samantha (Plate #118). I love that name as it's my neice's name so I colored up this fairy with Samantha (or Sammie as we call her) in mind.

Samantha loves purple so I used a lot of that while coloring and added my favorite color which is orange. Once I colored the image, I used that color palette to select my card and embellishments. I had a wonderful sheet of orange with a sparkly background. I added lots of purple embellishments and die cut the saying out using nestabilities. I added some sparkle to the image's wings using Stickles.

Now I hope she will love this card when I present it to her.

Cheers all!

Summer booklet

I have finally played with my bind-it-all for the first time. I've had it for about a year, but not played with it until today. I have been feeling like making other things than cards lately and this was the perfect project. As the weather is so beautiful here I jumped for joy when I found these papers in my stash.

The image I have used is radiant butterfly from plate 86 and I have cut around it so you might have not recognized it at first. I coloured her with promarkers to match the papers. I like how I manged to align her to the background paper as it looks like there are flowers coming out of her hair. There is some glitter on the butterfly and flowers, but it doesn't show properly.

The booklet has 12 pages in these wonderful colours. I think the image is perfect as there are butterflies on some of the papers too. I thought the black would clash, but think it only accentuates the bright colours. I was thinking about decorating it more with flowers and such, but I think the front should be flat to be practical and I didn't want to overwhelm the beautiful image. I also left the top blank so whoever gets this album can add their own text.

Lasting Charm and Light the Stars

Today I have some cards to share with you.  I don't know about you but I have the hardest time decided with stamp I want to ink up and color first.  So as soon as I receive a package of Sweet Pea Stamps in the mail, I cut them all out add some Tack It Over and Over glue to the backs, let it dry and then I stamp 2 of each image out and they are ready to color when I want them.  But I still have a hard time deciding which one to color first so most of the time I start coloring the skin on all of them, since I don't have to pick colors out first and match papers and embellishments to them.  Does anyone else do this or do you just do one image at a time?
For this first card I used one of ching-chou kuiks images called "Lasting Charm" , sheet 29 plate 97.  I wanted to color her up in some warm Fall colors and added a lot of different textures.  As green and brown are my favorite colors.

For this one I used Karen Middleton's "Light the Stars" sheet #5, Plate #116.  I think this little fairy is so sweet.  I used some Basic Grey DP.

The roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
I am having so much fun with all my Sweet Pea Stamps.  Oh make sure you go and see what's on sale over at the store HERE and stock up on all  your favorites.
Thanks for stopping by today and thank you for all your sweet comments.

Angela

Thank you!

Hi again!
Today I have this little thank you card to share with you all. It is a card I made especially for all those wonderful Sweet Pea Stamps blog hoppers who stopped by my blog and left me such beautiful comments.
Thank you so much!
This gorgeous image can be found on Samantha Rawling's sheet #3, Plate #125, along with three other extremely cute images.  These images are so cheerful, that they are bound to brighten anyone's day.
I kept the card pretty basic, using a Nestabilities die to cut the shape of the card.  Adding only a few embellishments really let this image pop out from the background.
Thank you for joining me today.
Hugs
Renee

Glittery Stars....

Hi Everyone,

Last week I had showcased Joanne Schempp's Peaches, stamping and coloring her on Millstone Classic Crest card stock (a beige color). This time Istamped and colored her on Solar White Classic Crest. My original intent was to color both card stock versions the exact same way....... well, you know me. I love to experiment with the different copic colors. And when I say experiment, you'll know what I mean when you see her skin colors:

Joanne Schempp's Peaches, Plate #142

She's colored with Copics and the background was done with chalk pencils then blended with a sponge. Once again, I colored first not picking papers (why do I do that to myself????) so it took forever to try to find something that matched the colors I used. The stars were left blank and filled with Stickles which gave it a nice glitter:

The orange panel underneath the image was from a Martha Stewart card pack and (thankfully) matched the color of her hair.

I really really must contain myself and start choosing papers first before I start to color. But, and I'm sure you'll agree with me, it is so much fun to color these wonderful Sweet Pea Stamps that all my good intentions go out the window as I escape the hustle and bustle coloring these wonderful, magical stamps.

Fly Dandelions

Today I share another marvelous stamp by chingchou kuiks Fantasy Art.  Fly Dandelions.....
I made my dandelions pink.  Artist's licence.....

You can find her and many other electrifying stamps at non other than Sweet Pea Stamps...

Ready for Bed

Today's card features a sweet image by Samantha Rawlings called Ready for Bed and can be found on Plate #58. She was colored with copics and the papers are Prima.

I love Samantha's images they are perfect for cards for children.

ching-chou kuik's The Moth ... in Yellow!

I made this card a while ago from one of my favorite images from Ching Chou Kuik. I love her circular images and this one is so soft and pretty! It left a lot of room for me to break out the bling and jazz it up! I colored the image with copic markers and then I used stickles, microbeads and rhinestones to jazz it up! I also used the cuttlebug to emboss texture on the background paper, and then I sponged it to show off all of that wonderful texture... and VIOLA!
Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day! Don't forget to check out all of the amazing new releases and artists that have just been added!

Sassy Mermaid

Hi Sweet Pea lovers out there. Today I want to share you a new creation I made with this gorgeous and sassy mermaid stamp from the Terrell Dorfeo Art Collection. She comes with different sentiments and you can find her HERE.

I challenged myself and made a step card. Something I already wanted to do since longer as I like that shape and it is quite different with several steps to decorate. I thought this beautiful stamp would fit perfect for my first try.

I coloured her with Distress Inks an heavy aquarell paper.

I made several photos to see more details of the card.

The designer papers I used are from my scrap box where I collect the remaining pieces of the papers I already used. So this shape is a great opportunity to use them, especially when you are like me and always take new paper sheets to work with.

On the middle step I added a blue iridescent paper, to let it look more like water and waves. The dies I used for the swirl and the leafs are from Magnolia and the flowers are from Wild Orchid.

Thank you so much for taking a look. Before you go check all the fabulous new artists at Sweet Pea Stamps.

Have a wonderful day!
Hugs, Karina

When I first saw Jinx by Brigid Ashwood all I could think of was the word FUN!!!  I think she would be perfection for a teenagers card.  You can find this Phunky Fairy at Sweet Pea Stamps.

Colored with copics, cut out and popped up!!!  The big X behind her is glossed with glossy accents.  3 safety pins hold the framing behind her together.  The word fun was stamped with some giant alphabet stamps!!! She was so much FUN to work with.  What are you waiting for?  Grab her and a few others for yourself!

"Life's Beauty Inspires Me To Kreate"

It's never to early...

It's never too early to start making Christmas card right?  I am one of those people that always have the good intention of making Christmas cards for my family, but come December I am rushing out to the shops to buy some.  So this year I am starting early.
I decided to make a set of Christmas cards using the gorgeous fairy images from Meredith Dillmans Sheet #1, Plate #76.

Japanese Fairy

Blue Fairy

Fairy Lights

As well as being available on a Sheet #1, Plate #76, these images can also be purchased separately. I am so glad I have made an early start. Who knows come December, it may not be a mad rush to buy Christmas cards.
Thank you for joining me today.
