This adorable card is actually made from a cute border for a scrapbook page! It's a 3" x 12" border that folds in half and is super adorable. You get tons of them in scrapbooking kits (which of course, I never follow the directions for those kits, I just design my own pages). I was able to find a sweet matching color flowers, brads and sentiment to go with it, and there you go! A gorgeous card in just a few minutes (well, minus all the previous work that was spent on the coloring!!)
Here's a close up of the image itself. Be sure and check out the artist's original coloring, it's so very different from my color choices.
Here's another fun and quick and cute card, this card was an embossed shape card that I got from Studio G. They sell these cards in sets of 6 or 8 for just a dollar! I really loved this one, as there are times when you are in a pinch and you just need to put a card together and you want something that's lovely and elegant but you don't have time for all that detail work. This die cut embossed card can do the trick. I am using a beautiful Sweet Pea stamp from artist Helena Reis called Waiting for You.
Underneath the image I added some fun ribbon two strips of it, to cover up the center, I added a piece of black and white stitched ribbon. I die cut out the colored image and added bling and buttons to the card to finish it off.
Hope these projects give you some quick and easy ideas for projects when you find yourself in a bind and need a handmade touch.
Cheers, Holley
Lovely ideas :) And so pretty cards.
ReplyDeleteBusy Holley. They both turn out gorgeous. I don't thing any card can be quick, because it takes time to color, put together, photograph, make to a post. Wow! It's mouthful work. lol.
