YOU Complete ME

Here's a stunning image from Sweet Pea artist Helena Reis.  I just love this artist's  images.  This one is Amelia.  I thought she would be perfect for Valentine's day.  I colored her up with gorgeous black hair and a black and red dress.  I added some simple heart décor from K&Co and some gorgeous embroidered ribbon that I got while visiting Istanbul.

I added a sentiment that I sold at Sweet Pea stamps, "YOU complete ME" which is just perfect for my hubby.    I gave her gray eyes.  Makes me think of my hubby (and also my sister).  Here's a close up of the image:
I hope she tugs at your heart the way that she tugs at mine.  Drop by the Sweet Pea store and check out all of Helena Reis' images.  She has a bunch of wonderful images in digi-format as well as some in rubber stamp format.  There's also a HUGE Sale going on at the Sweet Pea store, check it out!!

Did you see the amazing card that design team member Ali made using this exact image earlier this week?  Scroll down and check it out!  It's so very different in color choices, I think that's just amazing to see how wonderful a stamp can be when two people use the same image.  Then you can compare our images to the artist original coloring, here.

Please Join me in celebration this month!  I am so very thankful to everyone here at Sweet Pea stamps.  I was on this Design Team when I had the brain surgeries and many of the ladies here now where members then with me.  They were amazingly supportive and helped me through it.  Love you guys!!   Everyone come by for some treats, DT members are eligible too for everything except the Sweet Pea prizes.  Big hugs!

Cheers, Holley

Mending a Broken Heart

Hello everyone, today I show you a more clean and simple card... well, for me it is, compared with the cards I usually make with lots of embellishing. But I thought this beautiful image has to stand for its own. It is from Helena Reis and is called 'Mending a Broken Heart'. It is available as Digital Image.

I made the image quite big and paper pieced her dress. The coloration is made with Copics. I addes some Stickles to her wings and some crackled paint to the heart... to let it look like a broken heart.

Thank you so much for looking! Wish you a happy day.
Hugs, Karina

I had some mermaid charms from the bead store
The die is from stampin up
The iridescent paper is from my stash.
Here's the close up
Thanks for viewing.  This wonderful stamp comes in digi or rubber format.
Go to the Sweet Pea Website and check out this and hundreds of other awesome stamps.

My daughter went to her best friends house for a sleepover a few weeks ago~ it seemed so odd without her at home but she had fun so that's the important thing. This sleepover was a belated birthday party so she needed a card...Mom to the rescue!

When I first saw this cute stamp~ Best Friends by Karen Middleton for Sweet Pea Stamps I knew I had to have it as it reminds me so much of my daughter and her best friend. You can find the digi stamp~HERE and the rubber stamp~HERE!

I colored the image with copics and added some sparkle to the belt buckle with a Wink Of Stella gold pen. My papers are from my stash and then I used a Martha Stewart punch and a doily to finish the card.

Helena Reis' Amelia

Helena Reis is one of the newer additions to the fabulous range of artists whose stamps you can buy from Sweet Pea Stamps and I love her cute yet quirky style. This week I chose to work with one of her recent releases, this adorable stamp called Amelia:

I coloured the image with my Promarkers and added a couple of highlights here and there with a white gel pen. The oval frame of the image makes it perfect to cut out ready for use on a card.

I decorated my card with patterned papers in pretty pastel colours and added some lengths of ribbon and lace and some die-cut leafy flourishes:

To finish I dotted a border with a pearl white Perlen Pen.

All of Helena's lovely stamps are available in red rubber or digi format from the Sweet Pea Stamps store.

Dance of the Butterfly, Ching Chou Kuik

Hi everyone

Today I want to share this gorgeous stamp from Ching-Chou Kuik
"Dance of the Butterfly".
This gorgeous stamp is availble as a single rubber stamp or digi

I realy love this stamp.
I colored her in with my distresspads and markers.
To give her some sparkles, I added some glitter gelpen on
some areas.

The flowers I made with dies, and I added some
goldspray on to it.
The centers of the flowers are from my own stash.
Bought in a superstore over here in Holland.
The little pearls in the centers, I have from my daughter (lol).
Just some beads.. no real pearls ofcourse...

I wanted to give it a little royal touch to it, so I used gold cardstock
as base for the card, and then layers of lightbleu and white.
I embossed the bleu cardstock with a doubledo embossingsfolder.
And on the sides of the image, I added some metal pieces, I cut them in half
(also from the superstore over here in Holland).
I hope you all like her, and don't forget to look at al the lovely
creations from the other DT-members!

Jeweled Fairy by Teresa Sherman

This is "Jeweled Fairy" by Teresa Sherman.

This gorgeous stamp is availble at:
and is also availble as a digi:
I colored her in with distresspads.
I wanted to make the skin a bit darker than
I useal do.
So I layerd it up in the colors
- Tea Dye
- Tattered Rose
- Tea Dye
I think the layers come up gorgeous to give it a bit darker look.
I stamped the image on a memo paper, and sticked it
on the colored image.
Than I distressed it with my blendingtool around the image.
So... there's a darker/night look.
I used some left over scrappaper from Graphic 45.
And added die corners from Leane's Creatief.
To give her a little bling, I added bleu gemstones on
the sides of the card.
I hope you like this.
Also take a look at all the other DT-members,
they are so inpirational!

Kym's Weekly Post - Sunday 26/1/14

Sunday is here again and it is time for me to show you some Sweet Pea Stamps creations.

It is "Artist of the Week" over at Sweet Pea Stamps.  This is where one of the artists is chosen and the Design Team get an image they want from this artist to create a card/other creation.  The "Artist of the Week" is Charmaine Flannery.
For my card I have decided to use the imaged called "Alice" by Charmaine Flannery.  It is available as a digital stamp.  I thought she had a sorrowful look on her face so I though she'd be suitable for a "thinking of you" card.  I have coloured my image in with Graph'it pens.  The backing papers are from my Perfect Companions Essential CD.  I have mounted the image on a Marianne Designs die-cut shape.  The card has been finished off with a stamped sentiment, flowers punched out of scraps leftover from the card, raffia ribbon and pearls.

If you have time, pop on over to the Sweet Pea Stamps Blog this week to see all the other creations made with Charmaine Flannery's images.
*************************************

Here is a card I have made using a Sweet Pea Stamps image by Ching-Chou Kuik called "The Dragonfly".  It is available as a digital stamp and a rubber stamp.  I have coloured the image in with my Graph'it pens.  The backing papers I was given.  The brown and blue paper has gorgeous flocking on it.

I have finished the card off with a Prima flower, Joanna Sheen die-cut dragonflys, gems, lace and a Craftwork Cards die-cut sentiment.

The Many Allys of Allywhitecat and Sweet Peas artist Karen Middleton Art Nouveau

Welcome .. I have been in awe with this lovely image from Karren Middleton called Art Nouveau.
I chose fall colors of course, my papers are from Michaels from the Recollection papers they carry, my embellishments are simple black blings.
I hope you like her.

Lace

Featured Artist Charmaine Flannery, "My Beloved"

Here's my card this week using a card from the Featured Artist Charmaine Flannery. I just LOVE this artist's images.  I am sure many of you have been checking out all the awesome images from this artist, she has a lot of big eye and gothic style gorgeous works that I really like.  This image here is called My Beloved.  WOW.  Love it.  It's a vampiress holding a skull of a vampire.  I added the Be Mine sentiment to go with it.  As Valentine's approaches, that is what this card is for, even though the colors are SO very different here.  I am totally excited about the color change for the holiday.

Here's a close-up of the stamped image, also available in digital format.
Are you ready for some fun?  Coming in Feb this year is my annual celebration in which I will be hitting FOUR years of seizure free life since two brain surgeries in 2010.  I will be having wonderful blog candy for EVERYONE all month long in Feb on my blog with huge and grateful thanks to Sweet Pea Stamps.  I hope you will all join in the celebration by dropping by Holley's Blog.
