Dusty Rose and Forest Companion

Here's a striking image from Sweet Pea artist Joanne Schempp called Dusty Rose. I will confess that I was not hooked on this image when I first saw it, I got hooked by this image when I saw several other design team members make some amazing projects, check out their stunning creations to see my inspiration.
I had to choose my favorite colors, of course, which is a warm tone, reds and oranges, also as summer approaches, I tend to use more and more in that color family. I think she looks delightful in that color. Even though her coloring is very bright, I still kept a dusty rose color. I added a small vellum saying "All I need is your Love" which I think is very fitting for this card. Here's a close up of the stamp image. Isn't Joanne Schempp a wonderful artist? She has many brand new stamps available at the store right now.
I think springtime is perfect for showing faries with baby animals. This wonderful Sweet Pea stamp is called Forest Companion (Plate #110). I colored her up in greens for the season, but artist ching chou-kuik also did a stunning job on her coloring, so check it out on the website to see how differently it looks.

I am using some paper from WE R Memory Keepers and cardstock from Neenah and DCWV; A beautiful border punch from Martha Stewart; great ribbon from Prima; a die cut from Lifestyles and a lovely saying from Sweet Pea stamps;  I hope these cards make you want to stamp something beautiful, be it a love card or some springtime cheer.   Check out the wonderful new stamps from artists Terra Biddlespacher and Elisabeth Bell as well as your other favorite artists at the store now!

Cheers, Holley

  3. Beautiful cards, Holley, both of them. I also love the colours you chose for them. Dusty Rose is one of my fave images and it looks great what you made with her. The added flower and butterfly is perfect.
