Jane presents Fairy Tea Party by Helena Reis

Morning folks, hope you are having a good day :) :)

Today I am sharing an easel card using the image Fairy Tea Party by Helena Reis.
A bit of experimenting going on and a true effort in trying to create a card in keeping with the image. Not sure if I succeeded or not but I did have lots of fun and several cups of tea to rejuvenate the brain cell hahaha.

To begin with, after having coloured the image I then printed an enlarged copy of the digi.  This I then laid on a piece of purple card and traced over the outside edge to make just the tea cup for my easel card.  The image was then coloured with Pan Pastels and cut out.  Then I was stuck, do I add texture, do I add orange dots or what?  With no decision being reached I ended up leaving the cup just coloured in the purples to match the base colour I had coloured the digi image.
Next I printed my sentiment and decided on what die cuts to use and from there it was a case of assembling the sections.  Saying as I am in Saudi I also decided to add an Arabic Yellow Label tea bag for a bit of fun to the inside of the card and create the holding mechanism so the easel card stands correctly lol.
Ingredients:-
Image - Fairy Tea Party by Helena Reis
Colouring Mediums - Spectrum Noir Blendable Crayons and Pan Pastels
Dies - Spellbinders Scalloped and regular Circles,  Tattered Lace Rose Corner, and the background circle die but I can't remember it's name.
From my stash - Stickles, button, brads

Holley presents The East Wind's Lucy Loo Mad Hatter

Here's a stunning image from Sweet Pea Artist TheEastWind.  She has a wonderful stamp line using a character called Lucy Loo. Totally one of my favorites. This image is called Lucy Loo Mad Hatter.  It's currently available in both Rubber and Digi format.  Be sure to check out the links to the store as you will see how totally different the artist's original coloring on this image looks compared to my own.  How cool is it to see two totally different looks ont he same stamp.

I used die cuts from CC Designs and a tea cup from Doodle bug designs to go with some MAMBI paper for this card.  Don't you just love Alice in Wonderland theme?  there's a whole fun category of these stamps in the store.

I hope you will drop by our Facebook group, Sweet Pea stamps Friends and Fans where everyone comes to share their creations, chat and join in regular contests and win prizes.  We can't wait to get to know you!

Cheers, Holley

Tera presents 'Creekside fairy' by Molly Harrison

Hallo,
My turn to post a project again and today I used 'Creekside Fairy' from Molly Harrison.
I colored her up with my new polychrome pencils so be gentle, as its my first time with these pencils. I like how the tips stay sharp so much better that prismacolor pencils but compared to prismas the color does lay down a bit stiffer and blends a bit stiffer too but not really too much difference... the leads don't break as much with these either.
I blended the background a bit with OMS and then edged the panels both with gold metallic pen. I layered her to some shimmery gold cardstock and then added some gold stickers
I really love this mermaid and have already started coloring her up again - purple and teal this time so be on the look out :)

Jane presents Carry Me Away by Molly Harrison

Continuing with my journals for my daughters this week I have used the image Carry Me Away by Molly Harrison which is available as a digi.  This journal page is for my eldest daughter who just loves horses :) :)
To begin with I coloured the image with Promarkers and Polychromos.  Gold Spectrum Noir tint was used for the top section of the wing and gold glass granules were added for a bit of texture.
With the image coloured I set to preparing the journal page with white Gesso.  While that was drying I fussy cut the image, not an easy task with all those swirls hahaha.  Out with the Spectrum Noir tints again and I used three shades of purple for the base background and then added blotches of water at the top and allowed them to run down the page - cool effect :) Black tint next and I freehand created what is meant to be a tree.  To finish the tree off I used black embossing powder in areas.  A bit more embossing powder, this time a mixture of gold and clear and a texture stamp to create the gold circle areas.
Time now to add the fussy cut image and I then finished off with some gold stickles around the mane swirls.
The text was die cut using lime green vinyl and then finally added to the journal page.

Ingredients:-
  • Image - Carry Me Away by Molly Harrison
  • Colouring medium - Promarkers, Polychromos, Spectrum Noir Tints
  • Die cutting - text using vinyl
  • From my stash - gold Stickles, black, gold and clear embossing powders,

Tera presents 'Enchanted Summer' by Holly Durr

Hallo,
I have a fun project to show you today - its a mixed media piece with encaustic wax and this beautiful digital image.
I used a digital image by Holly Durr here at Sweet Pea Stamps called 'Enchanted Summer' and colored her with polychrome pencils.
I cut her out and embedded her into an encaustic wax piece that I had done to look like the ocean and then added a couple layers of colorless  wax on top of her - the blue and white on top of her was a happy accident as the color bled in from below but I LOVE how it looks!!!
All for today - Take Care
