Enchanted Christmas

Sweet Pea Stamps

Hello folks, here I am again with another creation for  Sweet Pea Stamps.  For this creation I am using Enchanted Christmas by Joanne Schempp.

To begin with I placed the digi onto a photo I have taken in a forest down under and printed.
Next I coloured the digi with Promarkers and added Stickles to some of the areas.
Using green glitter card I cut out a mini tag using a Sizzix - Square Scallops and added a Merry Christmas sentiment and my daughters name in peel off stickers.
Out with the Christmas box to find some suitable ribbon for my bow which I finished off with a red sequin and a pearl.
Promarkers used to colour the digi
Now for the die cutting.  The green glitter card, gold mirror card and digi were cut usingSpellbinders Grand Circles and Grand Scallop Circles

With all my sections prepared it was time to assemble
And here is the finished card for my daughter.

Ingredients
  • Enchanted Christmas by Joanne Schempp
  • Dies - Spellbinders Grand Circles and Grand Scallop Circles; Sizzix - Square Scallops
  • Green Glitter card and Gold Mirror Card
  • Stickles

Helena Reis's Joy is...A Basket Full of Cats

Today I decided to showcase another card using this adorable image by Helena Reis called "A Basket Full of Cats".

Since I got the bright colors of Summer on my mind this color set just made sense to me. I colored  the image with Copcs. The sentiment is from my sticker collection and then I used an online sketch I found. Added a mini bow I used for my bows I use.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Featured Artist Week with Tera

 Hallo,
I have 2 projects for you today but both along the same theme. I love to take old cigar boxes (or other similar boxes ) and alter them for a great baby gift - the box holds a 6 by 6 memory book  and gift card all of them matching.
I used Conie Fong's -' Mother and baby boy' and 'Mother and baby girl' and colored them with prismacolor pencils.
These are just lovely images to use for the baby box combos!!!
   Have a great day!!!

Guest Designer - Carla Suto

Hi! I'm Carla Suto and I am thrilled to have been invited to be one of the Sweet Pea Stamps Guest Designers for June!  My creation features an image by artist, Mitzi Sato-WiuffSweet Pea Stamps carries many of her wonderful images as rubber stamps.

For my card, I've used Mitzi's Grumpy Fae with Acorn on a Mushroom.  I just love the expression on this little fae's face!

I turned the mushrooms into whimsical toadstools with my coloring.  The whole image is colored with Copic markers.  I added some highlights with Crystal Stickles (the wings), a Sharpie White Paint Pen (the berries) and White Opal Liquid Pearls (the toadstools).

A decorative punched border, a few paper roses and a butterfly punched from matching designer paper finished my card.

Thanks for stopping by and many thanks to Sweet Pea Stamps for giving me the opportunity to be a Guest Designer and share my project with you today!

Featured Artist Week with Holley

Here's a wonderful image from Sweet Pea artist Conie Fong.  This beautiful stamp is called Butterfly Princess.  I colored up this wonderful image like she was a sunflower today. Yellow petals for her dress with a brown center as her top.  I gave her matching wings and an adorable banner on the card that says "You are so Loved."  Totally makes me think of a ballet costume as I have been seeing all my friends little girls being dressed up in the most adorable costumes for their recitals lately.

Here's a close up of the image itself.  This stamp is also available in Digi Format.

Be sure and check out all of Conie's wonderful images at the Sweet Pea store and join us in our contest and weekly prize at our Facebook page Sweet Pea Friends and Fans.

Cheers, Holley

Guest Designer - Robyn Pitcher

Dark Shore by Linda Biggs

This card was my first attempt at this design. As I was finishing putting the card together I realised I had the horizon crooked. So I started again.
This card was my second attempt. I have coloured both cards with Copics and Spectrum Noir pens.  The seahorse die and embossing folder are from CuttleBug. The seaweed in the second card is a branch die from Memory Box. The netting is drywall tape. The shells are a stamp from Hastings Rubber Stamps. I stamped twice for each shell, glued the bottoms together and added a pearl between them.

Star Dust Stickles were added to all the bubbles.

Hope you all enjoy my efforts and thank you to Lynette for giving me this opportunity .

Featured Artist Week with Suzanne

Hi, Suzanne here to share with you this gorgeous, gorgeous image by Conie Fong, FIRST KISS.
This adorable image is available in both rubber and digi.

I have coloured with Copics, added a little Frantage, Memento inks, paper heart doily, the DP is from DoCrafts. Oh and added little machine stitching as well.
Hope you like this gorgeous stamp just as much as I do.
See you next time.

Featured Artist Week with Lina

With Conies images it's always hard to choose. So many beautiful ones. But my favorite of hers is Sally & Snowball. It's just so incredibly cute and full of emotion. And I love making it into a Warm Winter Greetings card or, as in this instance, a Christmas card. In June, yeah, I know. At least this way I got one done this year. I always seem to be behind with my Christmas cards.

As always I used Copics to color the pretty image. These are the ones I used:

Skin: E0000, E000, E00, E11
Reds: R35, R46, R59, R89
Hair: E21, E35, E57, E49
Greens: YG61, YG63, YG67, G99
Yellow: Y21, Y23, Y26, Y28, E15
Fluff: W0, W1, W3
Snowball the Cat: W3, W5, W7

I had chosen my papers, which were leftovers from a collection I bought last year, before I chose which Copics to use. This way I could get it all to match somewhat nicely. It might be a little untradtional to have cherry blossoms and green roses on a Christmas cards, but it was the only ones I got, that matched. And I don't really think the recipient will mind terribly.

The pretty stamp, Sally and Snowball, is available at the Sweet Pea Stamp store as a digi and rubber stamp.
Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Featured Artist Week with Aletha

Hi all! Aletha here with a Sweet Pea project using one of my favorite images from Conie Fong, “Tranquility.” I have chosen to use the digital image, but you can also purchase this beautiful illustration as a rubber stamp too.

I loved coloring Tranquility with my Copics. After this was complete I did a fussy cut and mounted her on an oval die cut and again on an intricate oval die cut.

The background was completed with an embossing folder and some embossing ink and powder for that metallic look. I used a few other dies for the shells background. My tiny shells are from a sack of shells that I purchased a while back. I just had to have them at that time, and now I am glad that I did make that purchase.

Our One Sweet Challenge is still going on with the theme of “Hit the Beach.” I hope you join us. If you do, and you used a Sweet Pea image, head over to our Facebook’s Group art contest.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope that you stop by every day and check out what Sweet Pea’s Design Team and in store for you.

Sweet Pea Stamps

Hello folks, here I am again with another creation for  Sweet Pea Stamps.  Today I am sharing with you my DT creation for Artist Week  using the digi Arrival of Spring by Conie Fong.

I have a friends birthday coming up and bless her, last year I forgot.  So to make up for my thoughtlessness this year I have made her an extra special card.  My friend loves pearls and roses and I think she is going to love this one :) :) :)

I started by colouring the digi - oops forgot to take a pic of just the digi.  Here you see the coloured digi which I have fussy cut on the right hand side.  I have also used a mauve pearlised paper to line the inside of the card.
 Promarkers used.
OK - so you know I fussy cut the right hand side, here you can see that better.
Now to complete the simple bow using a pieces of lovely purple ribbon that came in a scrap bundle that was in a sale lol.
To make the charm section I used a rose metal charm and then added beads to the fishing line. Normally I use stranded cotton to attach charms but thought I would try the fishing line today.  Big bother as it had retained its coil.  To try to remove this I attached the metal charm first for a bit of weight and then held it up and used the heat gun to heat up the plastic and hopefully reshape it lol.  Worked but hot on the fingers and it did not help that my head forgot to compute that metal gets hot so big ouch when I touched the metal charm !!!!
I am adding flowers to the bow area where the charm will also be hanging.  After trimming off the metal stems of the flowers I took a toothpick to make spiral bits - hey waste not want not.
Here you see the flowers, spirals and charm attached to the bow on the card.
Now the reason I fussy cut the right edge is so that I could use acetate or in this case a clear overhead projector sheet so I could give the pearls and my friends name a floating effect.

Thank you for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful crafting, happy day :)
