Shell Whisperer Mermaid

Elisabeth Bell is another long time favorite stamp artist of mine, and I absolutely love her mermaids. So when I found this cute fold on Pinterest, the card came together so easily. Unfortunately I have no clue what this fold is called.

I based my card on a 6 x 9 inch cardstock, scored at 3 inches. The smaller 'inside' card is 4½ by 9 inches, scored at 4½, for a perfect square. But this type of card is very easy to resize to fit your project perfectly.

As always I used Copics to color in the way to cute Shell Whisperer Mermaid.
Skin: E0000, E000, E00, E21, E13
Hair: E21, E25, E27, E29
Bluegreens: BG10, BG11, BG13, BG15, BG18
Purple: BV0000, V20, V22, RV0000, RV000, RV00
Shell: E41, E42, E43, E44
Rock: W0, W1, W2, W3, W6
Water: B0000, B000, B00, B01, B02

This stamp can be found in the Sweet Pea Store as a rubber stamp.

Ching Chou Phone Case

Hey Everyone. It is Olivia here. Super excited to showcase a 3D project I did for Sweet Pea Stamps.  This is my own personalized phone case I made for myself using Ching Chou fantastic image-Dark Lilies. This image can be found in rubber or in digi.

I have spring on my mind and thought a bright and sparkly case would be perfect to just welcome it in and celebrate the season.

Here is how I did it. First if colored my image on a separate paper.  I then used a clear blank phone case (I order my online from Ebay since I love to make these). My first step was to paint it with acrylic paint and then let it dry. Once dry I used Mod Podge to add the sparkle.  Once that layer is dry, I applied the image via Mod Podge. It takes about 2-3 coats to make sure it is adhered good and you need to wait between each layer (about 10-15 minutes between layers).  Then I added another layer of sparkle on it.

My final step was the embellish around it with various gemstones and rhinestones I have in my stash. I just go crazy here and add them were I feel like it. I used E600 glue to add the pearls and rhinestones.

So there you have it! A fantastic personalized case that is one of a kind and with these gorgeous images can be suited to your taste and style.

Tera's - Steampunk Clara - necklace

 Hallo,
Tera here with a bit of Steampunk for you today using Charmaine Flannery's 'Clara' .
I colored her with prismacolor pencils and then added her to this large charm with a crystal lacquer and some tiny seed beads. I just love how she turned out and decided she needed to be a necklace.
I added the drop charm after some altering (it started out as an old earring), then added the chain and a beaded strand - took me lots of futzing and fussing to get the chain and beaded strand just the way I wanted but can't wait to show her off to you!!!
I hope you like her too :)
    Have a great day!!!!

Dragonflies by Ching Chou Kuik

Sweet Pea Stamps

Hello folks, here I am again with another creation for  Sweet Pea Stamps.  This week I am using the digi Dragonflies by Ching Chou Kuik.

I rather fancied something a little different this week saying as I have used a lot of lace recently that is one item that was going to be avoided :)  Instead I designed a dragonfly border to be cut with my die cutter.
Next I air brushed it with a green Promarker and used embossing powder sprinkled on top fairly lightly, just to give some texture.
And here is the completed frame.
Next I tried using oil pastels for the white area behind the digi which will be coloured with Promarmers.  I am wanting to try the new Spectrum Noir pastel crayons when they come out which are oil based so thought it was a good way to start experimenting.
Next I coloured the digi with Promarkers.
Got to have a bit of bling so I added Stickles to the centres of the flowers and sections of the dragonfly wings.
Out with a new die ( I bought it last year but have not used it till now), Elizabeth Craft Designs dragonfly.  The bodies were cut using the same card as I used for the card base and the wings out of a clear overhead projector sheet.  I then sprayed ares of the wings with my Purple Promarker.  Later, when I laid them on the card they needed more colour so I sprayed the back of the wings with Orange Promarker.

I cut a simple frame to go behind the digi which I airbrushed with Green, Spice and Metallic Gold Promarkers.  I only wanted a hit of a shaped edge, more as an accent really than being to obvious. Time to assemble and here we have the finished card.

Ingredients
  • Pearl card from Craft Creations
  • Digi - Dragonflies by Ching Chou Kuik.
  • Promarkers
  • Dies - background by me and Elizabeth Craft Designs dragonfly
  • Stickles
  • Oil Pastels
  • Transparent sheet, gems and embossing powder from my stash
Thank you for stopping by and have a happy crafting day :) xx

(Elisabeth Bell's 'Sweet Incorrigibilty' , colored in by DT member Milo)

Featured Artist Week - Mitzi Sato-Wiuff with Aletha

We’ve got a monthly challenge at One Sweet Challenge and it’s perfect to get you in the mood for spring. This month’s challenge and theme are “Ringing in Spring.” This might help to take away some of the blues for the places that are still getting snow.

For my project I decided to use the rubber stamp Rose Fairy 2. This beautiful stamp was designed by Mitzi Sato-Wiuff for Sweet Pea Stamps. I hope that it speaks the colors of spring. I do want to apologize for my purples not matching. In “real life” all purples are perfect. My camera does not like purples at all.

I have colored Rose Fairy with Copics and added layers of cardstocks. I did get adventurous with this little piece of art. I decided to use a Sizzix die, 3-D flowers, and make my own roses. I got the inspiration from one of my teammates, Milo. She has just the right touch with all of her embellishments. I also seem to collect a lot of laser cut shaped chipboard that I plan on using in some mixed-media work. My Eureka moment was “Why not use them on cards.” I do like how everything turned out.

Copics used:
Skin: E000, 00, 04, 11, 21, and R20
Leaves: G40, 82, 94, 99, and V12
Roses: V09, 12, 15, 17

I hope that you join us for this challenge. If you use a Sweet Pea Stamps image you will receive a $10 gift card to the online store. If you win, but you do not use a Sweet Pea image, you will receive a $5 gift card to the store. Why wouldn’t you use a Sweet Pea digital image or rubber stamp?

I would like to invite you to join us at our Sweet PeaStamps Facebook group. We have a weekly contest for your chance to win a digi of your choice from Sweet Pea’s store. Come “like” our page so you can receive all the updates on Sweet Pea happenings.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Featured Artist Week - Mitzi Sato-Wiuff with Lina

I absolutely love and adore Mitzi Sato-Wiuff's gorgeous images. So full of life and emotions and details. Perfect for a coloring geek like me. For this weeks featured artist series, I chose Snapdragon Spirit, cause I find the little dragon so adorable. And I love how I could play with light and shadow with all those gorgeous flower petals.

I made a simple 6x6 card, with no fancy folds this time. And I kept the embellishement fairly simple. With all the powerful colors going on, in the image, I really wanted that to shine on the front of the card.

As always, I used me beloved Copics to color her in. And these are the ones I used:
Skin: E0000, E000, E00, E21, E13
Reds: R81, R83, R85, R89
Greens: G40, G43, G46, G29
Browns: E70, E71, E74, E77
Yellows: Y32, Y35, Y38, E33

This image can be found in the Sweet Pea Stamp store as a rubber image.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Featured Artist Week - Mitzi Sato-Wiuff with Jane

Sweet Pea Stamps

Hello folks, here I am again with an image from Sweet Pea Stamps.  This week is Featured Artist - Mitzi Sato-Wiuff, a stunning fantasy artist.  If you love fantasy you really need to check out her artwork, it is amazing.  I have chosen to use the image Snapdragon Sprite with Baby Dragon, this image is only available as a rubber stamp.

What a lot of fun I had using this image to make a gift bag.  I have to admit, it is not the sort of image I tend to go for but once I started colouring it I was in my element for a whole two hours and that was just the colouring lol.

So to start with, a plain gift bag.
I had decided to work in oranges - now that is a challenge for me, I can colour in blues, purples and greens but when it comes to the hot colours I seem to lose it.  As the say, practice, practice, practice.  Promarkers and the air gun attachment were used to colour the bag.
Next I took a piece of lace and coloured it the same way as I did the gift bag.
Once the lace was dry I attached it to the gift back with spray adhesive.
To finish the main part of the bag I attached some peach organza ribbon and added Liquid Pearls around the bottom edge.
Now for the embellishments.  Another thing I am useless at is bow tying, even after lots of practice the bows look OK but nothing special.  Last night I sent a couple of hours hunting the net for ways to tie bows and at last think I have found a way that works for me, yes, I am pretty pleased with my bow this time hahahaha.  The metal love heart is from a pack I bought ages ago and just never seem to have the right thing to use them on until now :)
Silver really was not a colour that was going to work with this card so I coloured the metal love heart with the same colours as I am using of the image.
Next to colour the image with my Promarkers.
And here we have the completed gift bag.
I also added some skeleton leaves behind the image, nice and delicate and add some more texture without being to cluttered.
Hope you like my creation and thank you for stopping by :)
