Follow Your Heart III

Hello everyone!  Well I realize that Valentine's is actually over, but I know that Feb puts me in that love-y mood.  And esp. after Valentine's weekend, I am totally lovestruck and expressing it all the time (and after 16 years with him)!!  There's so many new love theme stamps at Sweet Pea that I decided I would be dedicating all of Feb to some gorgeous red/pink cards filled with LOVE.  This gorgeous image is from artist Helena Reis and is called Follow Your Heart III.  It is currently available in digi format.

Here's a closeup of the image itself.  There's actually a heart that she is looking at on the image, but I added a dimensional heart on the card.

Drop by the Sweet Pea store and check out all the gorgeous images from Helena Reis.  I just love her beautiful ladies and their lovestruck looks.   Today is also the last day of my blog candy celebration this month, so feel free to drop by my personal blog today and sign up for blog candy. I feel so very fortunate to be here now thanks to the wonderful doctors who did my brain surgery.

HUGE thanks to Lynette of Sweet Pea Stamps for her generous prizes for this celebration.  Click here to join in the fun. Thanks for celebrating my special occasion with me!

Cheers, Holley

Kym's Weekly Post - Sunday 23/2/14

Yes I know what you are going to say in that Christmas has been and gone but I decided to start making Christmas cards throughout the year more this year.  The Sweet Pea Stamps image by Charity Dauenhauer that I have used is called "Silent Night".  It is available as a digital stamp.
I have coloured the image in with my Graph'it pens.  I used a circle die and cut a circle out of a sticky note, stuck it behind the fairy and the wolf and then used my blue Pan Pastel to colour in the background.  I find this so much easier than using a distress ink as I haven't got very strong hands.

I do like traditional red and green for Christmas so I have kept to this colour scheme.  I have tried to keep the card as flat as possible as well as I doubt they'll be a change in the cost of postage in 2014 for the better so it's "pancake Christmas cards" again!!!  I have used some backing papers that I got off a friend for Christmas.  I have finished the card off with a tissue paper flower, pearls, ribbon, holly die-cut, glitter scrolls and a sentiment that came in the paper/decoupage paper pack.
*******************************
Here is another Christmas card I have made using a Sweet Pea Stamps image by Ching-Chou Kuik called "Where we met".  I know it's not technically a Christmas image but I thought it would be perfect.  It's available as a digital stamp.
I have coloured the image in with Promarkers.  I have used a selection of small snowflake stamps and Tim Holtz's Victorian Velvet and Spun Sugar distress inks to stamp snowflakes around the image.  The backing papers I was given.  I have finished the card off with a sentiment from my Perfect Companions Christmas CD, die-cut snowflakes, pearls and die-cut deer.

Featured Artist Charity Dauenhaur: The Vintage Heart

Happy Friday everyone!  Here's a stunning image from a brand new artist at Sweet Pea stamps, Charity Dauenhaur.  As I mentioned last week, there's so many stunning love themed images, I have decided I would spend all month in my Sweet Pea cards using a red/pink combo.  This week, all the design team members are creating cards using Charity's stamps.  I chose The Vintage Heart.  I just love this new artist's style, you will be seeing lots more of her images.

Here's a closeup of the stamp itself.  Currently her stamps are available in digital format.
Have a great weekend and I hope you will get some stamping in!  If you have time, be sure and check the link to check out the artist's original coloring on this image (you can also look at the sidebar on the Sweet Pea blog), as my coloring is totally different. It really gives you a great idea of the versatility of this stamp.

Cheers, Holley

 Happy Tuesday all!
It's my time for the weekly inspirational Post at Sweet Pea Stamps. one of my favorite Artist is Elaine Cox. This gorgeous image "Bess" you can find HERE as a rubber stamp or Digital image.

For this card i used Rubber stamp, because i wanted to emboss image with copper embossing powder.  I stamped image on DP  and added Distressing ink to her hair and cheeks. Distress edges and inked, then i stapled lace to the top. Also added lovely swirls of gems.

I wish you all have a wonderful day.

Featured Artist: Charity Dauenhauer - Vintage Heart

This week at Sweet Pea Stamps it's our Featured Artist Week and this month the DT are featuring the gorgeous artwork of one of the newest additions to the roster of Sweet Pea artists, Charity Dauenhauer. I chose to work with this beautiful stamp called Vintage Heart:
I love the mix of steampunk, fantasy and romance in this image - just perfect for a Valentine's card, actually. ;) I coloured the image with a mixture of Promarkers and Prismacolor pencils and carefully cut around it.
I decorated my card with papers in warm tones (and continuing the heart/romance theme ;D) and textured gold mirri card. I added some delicate vintage lace and layered the image over it using foam tape.
I love the warm glow that this textured mirri card gives when the light hits it.
This stamp is available in red rubber or digi format from the Sweet Pea Stamps store.
