A Splash of Red.....

I am sharing a monochromatic beauty with you today with a SPLASH of RED.  This is Telsa by Nikki Burnette.  You can purchase her and he other wonderful artwork at SWEET PEA STAMPS.

I colored her with all cool tone grays in Copics and then added just a splash of red.  Matted her with some swirls and added a feather in her hat and 3 more as accents. She was a pleasure to color and Kreate with.

Check out all the great sales going on at Sweet Pea Stamps and do not forget to enter the In A Sweet Pea Dream challenge.

Purple Beauties

I loved these images from Meredith Dillman's Sheet #3, Plate #94.
They have such a great depth to them.
With the cards I decided to challenge myself and use the color purple.
This is normally a color I would avoid, for some reason I find it hard to work with.
Raven's Treasure
The Hidden Self
I found the images a joy to color, putting them on cards was the hard bit.  but overall I think they turned out okay.  Is there a color you would normally avoid using?  If there is, grab them out and have a play, it is great to challenge ourselves every now and then.

This card is a Sweet Pea Stamps card using one of Karen Middleton's images called Little Pink Fairie Sheet #8 Plate #123.

For this one I used "Butterfly Dragon" by Lisa Victoria, Sheet #10 Plate #117.

For my third card I used "Edeline" by Nikki Burnette, Sheet # 3 Plate #92.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Terra Bidlespacher's Journey

Hi Everyone,

Today I'll be sharing a card made with Terra Bidlespacher's Journey:

Journey is available as a single stamp or as part of Plate #103. The sentiment is from Plate #24.

She is stamped onto Neenah Super Smooth 80lb Solar White card stock with Tuxedo Memento Ink and colored with Copics.

I added a little Gloss to the wings and some rhinestones.

I've been eying my rickrack ribbon and thought it would work with this image. I have such a hard time with adding embellishments :-(. Although you only see a little of the rick rack strips, it does add a nice touch and is reminisce of waves.

As with all of the stamps at Sweet Pea Stamps, she was a joy to color even if I was a little intimidated. Honestly I am always intimidated when I start out, but the sheer magic of these stamps takes over. I know you know what I mean, right?

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out the SALES page at Sweet Pea Stamps!

Altered Moon Mermaid

Stamp: "Moon Mermaid" -Meredith Dillman's sheet 5 plate 99

I love this artsy mermaid by Meredith Dillman! For today's project, I used the new mega sized bottle caps from Maya Road. The new bottle caps are over 3.5 inches wide. Love! I cut an old plastic Prima flower cylinder in half and glued my colored image on. I used the large bottle cap as a base.

I used nearly all of the new Copic colors on the image. I drew up a quick reference chart for those of you wondering about the latest Copic color additions. The colors with the asterisks are new. The others are just for comparison. I tried to make sure the colors were as accurate as possible, but there may be variations. This is just to give you a rough idea.

Thinking of You

I am in love with this beautiful image from artist Brigid Ashwood. She's elegant. She looks so deep in thought and I added a wonderful "Thinking of You" stamp to the top of the card. This gorgeous woman comes from Plate #104 with another stunning stamp.
I wanted to make part of her look almost wooden and the other part look human so I am mixing a family of brown copic markers with skin tone copic markers. These colors go wonderfully with a brown cardstock base and red/black highlights. The border punch is from Martha Stewart and the bling I used is from Queen&Co.

I think this image itself makes the card say everything. A few beautiful embellishments to highlight the image is all it takes to give a wonderful greeting to the person you are thinking of.

Hope this card inspires you to go make a card today!
Cheers, Holley

Butterfly dreams

I'm back with a card and this time I have used come softly as my image. I really love the soft look and feel of this beauty - like a wonderful dream...

It's a very recycled card as I have used small parts of plain paper and embellished them as much as I could instead of digging through my scrapbook papers.

I really like the soft shades, but how the image stands out more. It's like the papers are faded and the image is as clear as ever. Almost like those old photos - but reversed :D

Connie-Airships

I have tried to imitate a watercolor look by outlining this beautiful image by Meredith Dillman
Plate #98 "Airships"
with Copic markers.
IRL it was a success.  I just don't think the beauty transfers via my scanner.
I dragged the large end of my blue Sketch marker across the
sky area but it shows up white here?

You will find this lovely image by
clicking

I layered the girl onto brown frame, then onto some dp by Tim Holtz
and then onto more brown.  I added a corner piece of blue
netting that has some white "bumps" in the bottom corner
that I have been hoarding for years.
Some brown pearls by Kaiser and it is enough.

Thanks for stopping by!

Rachel Anderson's Pixie Dust...It REALLY Is All You Need!

Ever hear that saying? All you need is a little pixie dust? Well, I found it PERFECT that this was the name of this stamp from Rachel Anderson...look at that little gal sprinkling fairy dust and magic all over! I stamped the image onto watercolor paper with Stazon ink and then I watercolored her. I used atyou spica pens for the sparkling accents and I followed a sketch that I found on Splitcoast. This is a pretty clean card for me because I ADORE embellishments and I feel like the more the merrier when it comes to piling on the goods!

Here is a close up of this fairy... look how serene she is! Thanks so much for popping in and please be sure to keep checking the blog! Lynette has wonderful sales... and ya never know when she will pop up a special!

Li'l Butterfly Fairy

Today's card features one of the adorable images from Samantha Rawlings - Li'l Butterfly Fairy can be found on plate 62 along with three other equally sweet images.

She was colored with pencils, the papers are mostly Basic Grey and a bit of Cosmo Cricket. Don't forget to enter your vote for the Stamp Off contest - thanks for stopping by!

Precious Flutters

First I wanted to create a black and white card. I had already the papers ready and started to colour up the image. Then I had the inspiration that this adorable fairy called 'Flutters' from the Terra Bidlespachers Art Collection at Sweet Pea Stamps have to wear a bit of pink as well. And so it was. I distressed the vellum paper with white felt flowers on with some pink Distress Inks. And I found those pink edges on my stack as well. And so this card was born. The papers are all from local stores, and so the ribbon as well. The flowers I used are from Wild Orchid.

You can find this fabulous stamp here on plate 103 together with tree more gorgeous images. 'Flutters' is available as single stamp as well.

Thank you for watching. Have a wonderful day. And check out the two other sheets of the great artist Terra Bidlespacher. You won't miss those lovely images of her.

Hugs, Karina

Hello Spring…….

First off I would like to apologize for the pic of my card.
I forgot my camera at our cabin and had to scan instead!!!

Welcome Spring or so I thought until we got hit with snow again yesterday.  Every time it just about melts we get a snowstorm again.  Hopefully this will be our last and we will see butterflies floating by soon.

My card today is another beauty Caron Vinsons Art Collection called the blue Fairy!!!  This beauty can be purchased alone or with 3 others at non other than SWEET PEA STAMPS!!!!!  I adore the sweet innocence this artist portrays in her work.  They are such a joy to work with.

Colored with copics and some stickles here and there she is framed and bowed along with a few pearls.  A simple way to say Hello Spring!!!!
